7:35 cinematic masterpiece. This scene is so well filmed.
... and this hospital has deadly herbicide in tanks on their upper floors WHY?
From my research into the matter. Seems that the floor has long been abandoned and was likely some sort of storage for it at some point. Anything else about it is basically just plot development to be honest, not much is accurate about it
It’s like watching old cartoons were the villain had a self destruct button for his hid out and keeps wonder every time the hero blows it up, how did he do that. Same idea.
Algal bloom on the bricks, moss on the roof tiles, ivy, budleia (will literally grow out of concrete), dandelions in he paving, etc., etc. Even basic landscaping. Hospitals were stunningly fastidious about these things back in the day.
Neglect on storage
It was probably used in the 70s to keep the landscaping under control. Like someone mentioned in the reply section of the post already; weeds could have been a source of illness or allergy or contaminate so they probably had to keep herbicides as well as pesticides on hand to deal with such things. And 10-1 people forgot about such things and just ignored and didn’t bother with them.
Is no one gonna mention the fact that the corrosive chemical went directly in the doctor’s EYE?? 👁️
it was WATER. . lol
No it went towards his middle stomach and crotch areas and upper legs and he will never be having any babies to give to wife or girlfriend since his sex organs are damaged. And both her and him upstairs was exposed by dangerous chemicals both will probably be dying off and never will be coming back to the hospital.
Max's character has to go through so much, that has to be scary.
My dude is just SMASHING the WALL S
I was so scared for Max this show was absolutely the best medical drama ever
Not better than House
@@Sniperboy5551preach
Soo, umm, a brief synopsis is that he finds out his new love interest was only seeing him when her husband was out of town and this is not what he is looking for in a partner. He became drenched in the dangerous liquid, with Helen later bathing him in the decontamination shower. Max overcame the poisoning, and he and Helen nearly shared a kiss. But sadly, fans had to wait just a little bit longer until they made things official. The surgeon who took the woman away with the shears in her had found a reversal to the toxic effects of the poison as he was treating the woman with shears and her internal parts that has the poison dumped on them.
“Can you see?” Helen asks him, inquiring about if his vision has returned. “I can see you,” Max replies.
Georgia’s absolutely insufferable parents, who have now decided to essentially kidnap Luna from Max’s apartment and file for full custody of her on the grounds that Max… is a doctor?
and then people waited for Season 4 to come out. . . . .
I ship them and I usually do not ship people cause I don’t really care but they’d be super cute.
@@1997thatperson Ship them?
@@blackdandelion5549 yeah it’s a term basically meaning that you want two characters to get together
@@1997thatperson Huh? Never heard it phrased in such a way. Is it from a specific country or region? It's not said that way in the US upper midwest. Every area has it's own words or phrases used commonly, but that one I've never heard. For instance we know someone is from out of town if they ask for a soda or a soda pop, as it's only known as pop here.
@@blackdandelion5549 it’s used mostly online by people aged 12-27 when talking about shows/books/other media.
Never seen a better character build up like they did in New Amsterdam in any other tv show.
Imagine having a hospital with no hazmat gear.
Only New Amsterdam🤣
The Hazmat suits of different colors and showing are in the middle of the hospital near lunch room that are easy to get to near the doctors and nurses locker rooms and bathrooms. My newest hospital's has newest Hazmat suits and chemical shower and near lunch room and doctors and nurses lockers rooms and regular doctors office are in the back room with Lab equipment and computer and drawing board and long tables and bunches of chairs nextdoor to the doctor's office in the back hospital and has upstairs main operating rooms for different types with X-rays and computers and top floor windows 360 surrounding viewing glass looking down at operating rooms with servals live feed digital cameras and the main patients Intensive care units for each bed has private rooms with it owned bathrooms toilet 🚽 and walk-in shower and sink inside the bathroom and outside the bathroom for one bed patient and 2 bed patients and medium sized LED t.v. for each person and each patients rooms have large windows top to waist high heater built-in air conditioning and the non- emergency rooms building are in a large C shaped design and exercise center at the bottom first floor hospital Soo that way patient can drive near the exercise center without using elevators and stairs coming in from the outside. and there are 4 large LED t.v. for people waiting room with bunches of chairs and tables and automatic dimmer lights at night so patient parents and friends can sleep and visits patients instead of using patients rooms.
Wait, the Doctor had the chemical spilled on her face. Why is she not in decomp showers? Plus she's treating patients. Wtf
And why is the doctor trying to fix the broken pipes? Shouldn't it be a special team with PPE equipment?
It didn’t just go on her face, it went directly IN HER EYE! If it’s corrosive, her eye should’ve been melting!
Corrosive materials usually cause more damage to metals and stone than flesh. Organic material will usually become aggravated, but it usually won't melt
It's all the makeup caked on her face. @@RorThor
Pretty sure that Max has a death wish due to a terminal illness from what I remember about the character from the early previews.
That’s how things work in reality but for TV it can’t be that boring so yeah they got the handsome doc racing to save the day!
That hospital would be shut down.
Love this epsiode❤..
Im so confused why this hospital has deadly chemicals in their pipes
Any chemical is deadly in enough quantity, including water
@@barnet9044 okay smartass why does a hospital have a CORROSIVE chemical in their pipes?
Hospitals employ and use cleaning products, sterilants, disinfectants, antimicrobials, and a wide range of pesticides such as insecticides, fungicides, and rodenticides

Repurposed building?
This hurt my soul. I'm torn inside.
Why couldn’t I hear the last part of that video??
the audio was edited that way for dramatic effect. what they were saying wasn't important, the emotional weight of the score was.
What happened after she stood him up
The only thing I don’t like about this episode is why Max left his phone in the pocket of the sweater he used on the pipe like that phone would’ve already dropped to the floor 😂😂. Plus there was no fixing it with that screen looking like that lol.
what episode was this ?
Uh, where's the FDNY hazmat people? You'd think there be team on call for this type of situation, and it wouldn't be a lone doctor looking for the source!
Only in the movies and shows man does this BS happen!
SO UPSET THEY DID NOT END UP TOGETHER!!! This why I don’t watch new shows.
I can't say I watched the entire series but they do kiss in the next episode after this one. He is just too sick to do it in this one.
@@blackdandelion5549 I know I watched until the season finale of when she left home at the alter. Never will forgive the writers. There were so many other ways to go about this.
What episode is this and what season?
Description says season 3 ep 12
I love watching Chicago fire and Chicago pd and Chicago med on the RUclips channel app and the spectrum tv app
But this is New Amsterdam
it's people like Max that caused the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown
I am confused who the person is that tried to play hero. I thought it is the firefighters or some special team?
They said they were calling in Hazmat, but apparently they take a long time to respond? and he went in with n PPE at all instead of even the full suits for highly contagious patients and having patients start being sent to other hospitals while hazmat teams arrive?
The guy holding the pipe is the director of the hospital with extremely strong personal morals and frequently handles matters personally to protect his patients and doctors. While waiting for HazMat to arrive he wanted to find the source because he just can't sit still we found the leaky tank he knew if it failed it would flood the lower floors. As to why it was there in the first place considering that it was hooked up the pipes in the hospital I'm guessing it was an old system for spraying the gardens around the hospital
Doesn't he also have a terminal illness (hence the suicidal stuns) @@Ki113r210
