Hello Dr. Russ. Its been awhile! I hope you and Dr. Paula are well. Ive recently bought the Evanix Viper 25cal and then the Huben GK1 25cal. They both are awesome in terms of stopping power!! I thoroughly enjoy the both of them. Another great video Dr. Russ...thanks again!
George .. it is good to hear from you again ... and trust you and yours are well. You are fortunate to own both of these very expensive air pistols.... Please share what they cost you and any differences ... thanks .. Dr. Russ
No problem. I bought my Evanix Viper 25cal maybe 6-7 months ago from New England Air Guns for $975. And then I bought my Huben GK1 25cal from KrazyKool AirGuns just a couple weeks ago. I actually bought a GK1 "shorty" as they call it and had it custom built in order to be concealed if I ever want to carry it. It was expensive, $1750, but the gun is absolutely beautiful and worth it to me. In terms of power, both the GK1 and the Viper are definitely lethal, but the GK1 is more powerful than the Viper. I dont have exact numbers right now, but the GK1 is absolutely my all time favorite air pistol. Both pistols are getting off 2 full mags per fill.
@@georgeloveless4176 Thank you very much... While I dont own a GK1... I do own two of the 25 caliber Hueben rifles ... I have only heard good reports on it, even though it cost almost twice as much. If you have a velocity meter ... please measure that for me from both pistols shooting the same weight 25 caliber pellet, and I will be able to calculate the exact energy of both. Thanks again ... Continue to enjoy those two excellent pistols.... Dr. Russ

Great to see you again Dr Russ on video. By the way, i have a Huben GK1 and its by far way more powerful in 22 than the evanix in .30. I got a Huben K1 too. I know you hunted iguana with them with Zach from Aeres tactical ( i just know i spelled it wrong sorry Zach). Both way more power than the viper. Especially the Hatsan. I have always loved your content for many years now as a matter of fact. God bless you my brother. Psycho Edit... also , great story/joke lol. Enjoy them
Always good to hear from you Psycho... that Hueben piston is an excellent handgun... but a little expensive for some. Its on my wish list and once I have it ... I will do a chronograph on both to confirm your statement. As you can see from our video, the 30 cal did a lot more damage to a 2 litter bottle than the 25 cal Hatsan. The formula for energy is a complex one that requires weight of the ammo and velocity ... so on the surface, and without both handguns, it is difficult to determine energy ... especially with the higher weights of the 30 caliber and the air compression of the Evanix.... but it is on my list. Thanks for writing ... Dr. Russ
@russjones6497 . true Dr Russ my friend. My GK1 shoots the 40 grain slug at 920 fps at current setting in 22 . That viper is around $100 to $130 less than my GK1. Huben all day ,,but its a friendly debate, sir. I appreciate your response as always . Good day Dr. Russ Psycho
@@psycho6275 Good to hear from you ... Dr. Russ
hello dr russ , you can decock the hatsan by pulling the bolt back and .hold the trigger and slowliy move the bolt forward .you hear a click at some point and then the spring tension is relased
You're comparing a gun that cost almost a thousand dollars to one that cost less than $400. Doesn't really seem to be a fair comparison. That said... Overall good information on both platforms. Thanks for your efforts.

Doc. You cant do that in Denmark, or you can, but there is a cost to it. We have always paid for the container ( bottle / can ) too, and so when you return it for recycling you get money, in the case of a 2 L bottle you get 50 cents BUT !!!! it have to be in one piece.

Good to hear from you Crazyhorseracing... that Hueben pistol is a good one. Powerful has to be measured by FPE (foot pounds of energy) .... and I will check it out and redo the math... but it is going to be difficult to beat a 30 caliber pellet weighing 50 grams. Dr. Russ
The fact that you said the Evanix Viper .30 is "the most powerful airgun in the world"..... I know you meant PCP pistol, but even then, it isn't even close. The Viper in .30 puts out right around 30 FPE. The Huben GK-1 (also semi auto) in .25 puts out around 80FPE
Devil Dog ... you are correct that I was only making reference to pistols.... and while I have heard several viewers question me about Huben .... the Evanix may still be more powerful, only because energy is determined by a math equation that includes velocity and pellet weight ... and not brand ... so any air gun that shoots a 30 caliber versus a 25 caliber starts with an advantage. I own a Hueben 25 caliber air rifle, but not the pistol. I would need to see the equation before agreeing ... anyone can tell a fib ... and do ... when it comes to velocity and energy.... so I would like to see the equation. I once had a viewer tell me that their 22 caliber rifle had an energy level over 90 FPE ... but that ended when we got to the math. Dr. Russ
@@russjones6497 lol. By your "logic", the T4E line would have an "advantage" over both, since it uses .43 cal rounds. Simply put, no. In a plethora if independent testing, the Evanix .30 puts out around 1/3rd the FPE energy of the Huben GK-1 in .25 cal. By this point, it has been so well tested, it isn't even up for debate anymore, the Evanix is underpowered.
Ajlozano ... it is good to hear from you .... but if you are talking about a regular compressor that is used to fill tires etc... then the answer is no. You need a compressor that will provide air pressure that equals 4000 fps ... versus 80 lbs per square inch.... Dr Russ
Evanix is sold thru about a dozen dealers across America .... one place is the one stated on our video ... Patriot Arms ... but I don't have a list of the others.... Dr. Russ
Huben has come out with an excellent pistol ... sharing much of the same features and quality of their rifles... which I enjoy.... however energy is measured by weight and velocity. I was shooting a 50 gram jsb pellet which is bigger than any 25 pellet and speed can be adjusted higher ... so I believe the Evanix can be more powerful... I will have to check that out. Dr. Russ
You clearly dont have one or have never shot one. Additionally, to achieve 85 ft lbs of energy, a 25.39 grain pellet has to shoot over 1200 ft per second, which is faster than the speed of sound and would destablize a pellet. I love how everyone thinks the Huben pistol is higher than their rifle can shoot. PS, Hubens made and opporated out of China. You keep buying Chinese stuff, and when it fails or jams, with thr mag that doesnt release, have fun with the repairs.
