The gear freak in the background is out of breath just trying to speak, watch the video. Magnus ends the workout and barely raises his heartbeat 10bpm, while the gear freak is 10bpm away from death.
@@deshonharris4414 I think strength can be measured in different areas. I wouldn't trust Larry to climb a mountain, he's got far to much fat on his body and not enough strength to lift himself up that many times. Magnus would out perform him 10 times over while Larry is on the ground huffing and puffing, unable to climb 10 feet. And then if it came to an actual fight, I think magnus would have the agility and strength to take on Larry through grappling and holds where Larry could only rely on brute strength and the hopes of maybe connecting one lucky strike. So yeah, I think Magnus is stronger is the more important areas. I know Larry can lift more weight off the floor, but that's probably about it.
If people know Magnus from when he first started on RUclips, you would remember that he used to do one finger (middle finger) one arm chin ups for more than 10 reps with body weight. the reason this looks easy for him is because rock climber work out lifting their own weight but in large variations in ranges of motion
I'm a rock climber. I train a LOT. But we rock climbers do it for a reason. We are born with superior tendon strength. I can curl 65 pound dumbbells for reps and do pull ups with 90 pounds and I weigh like 153 and am not very jacked at all
People only gain a lot of muscle when they eat in surplus while lifting heavy. Your strength comes probably more from neural adaptation and 100% muscle growth, but if your BF is already low then you won't be seeing significant size gain, you'll just be getting more definition.
@@halfwithazard4112 Definitely. But it's not like all climbers have a genetic advantage on tendon strength. Maybe most of the really elite climbers do, but definitely not most climbers. I would dare to guess that over 99% don't. I'm writing my thesis on this subject. I don't wanna get too much into specifics, but basically tendons are not contractile tissue and do not generate power themselves. They only transmit and tendons are remarkably strong and resilient and very unlikely to rupture under normal conditions. Having some genetical advantage for tendon strength isn't much of an advantage really, because a "normal" tendon wouldn't rupture either and like previously mentioned they don't generate force. Climbing related ruptures are often associated with pre-existing microtrauma rather than one catastrophic event. Because tendons have relatively poor blood supply muscle recovery outspaces tendon recovery & because tendons have less sensory nervers you're less likely to notice signs of fatigue, so it's very easy to overtrain them and that's how you get injured.
I was at a quiet small gym a good few years ago down in a place called hythe sothern England and the owner was a pro rock climber he was ripped to shreds and done finger pinch pull-ups for reps 💪🏼 was a good six foot as well

@@TheBaBaTV Test wouldn't have any noticeable effects. It's also not really a bad thing, when used in moderation(and on people who have low test) test replacement has no real negative effects on health.
200lb isn't THAT heavy on lat pulldown with that handle, I attempted 120kg on a cable machine once and the cable attachment broke cos it was an old machine 😂😂 but I did lift it a few reps before it broke
I think its how the exercise is implemented turning it into a compound lift where all the involved muscles are simultaneously used. Whereas a bodybuilder would want to isolate perhaps just the lats while trying not to use the other muscles as much. Nonetheless impressive.
I think its partially because its not only his back/lats whatever that are pulling like with a weight-lifter - His wrist/hand/finger strength are all adding to the total force pulled. It looks like even his armpits are buff!! I've never seen that lol I mean hanging off a rock, pulling yourself up, that's pretty much what he's doing here. So he's got so much more functional pull strength coming from so many muscle groups at once, than someone who is using the machine just to pump his back/lats (for example)
I’m a boulderer of 20 years, my fav thing to do in the gym is max pull downs, or 100kg with one arm. But because I have the physique of a climber people never expect that kind of strength.
Larry and juji are putting on an act, making it look like magnus has superpowers so they can sensationalize him and get more views. They could both double the weight if they wanted to. This is less weight than I do on lat pulldowns for reps and I’m not sure if I can even bench 225. Larry benches and squats 3 times more than me, I think he could do 400lbs on lat pulldowns easily
This is what actual strength and proper health looks like, he can lift 50 more pounds then his body weight but also remain incredibly agile and capable of a lot of range of motion that the bigger guys can't, I've never understood getting massive to the point you cant move. This kind of strength however is 10X more useful and beneficial to your health

If he was doing some lighter weight he’d be focusing on his lats but a lot of his arms are doing the pulling. Larry and the other guy barely strain their arms doing the lat pull down at that weight bc it’s all their lats doing the pulling which is harder to do when adding more weight
@@julianparra1350 that’s ridiculous. Unless you can actually curl the whole stack, it’s gonna be your lats doing most of the work. Your lats are much bigger and stronger than your biceps
@@julianparra1350 LMAO. So you've clearly never worked out around other people. Rock climbers have sleeper builds, and no matter how much copium you try to spew, body builders are basically the 'visual effects' department of people who work out. Gear freaks can't compete with actual fitness which is hilarious. I'de take a strongman build or a skinny fit build, over that a gear build any day.
The gear freak in the background is out of breath just trying to speak, watch the video. Magnus ends the workout and barely raises his heartbeat 10bpm, while the gear freak is 10bpm away from death.
@@Wibbly-Wobblydo you actual think he stronger then Larry wheels?
I don't think we are born with anything special. It's something we gained through training.
@@Benkkuful everyone is built for something different. we all absolutely have our own natural born specialties
I was thinking, wow just that its not that insane but than i saw u saying im 153 and now im shocked😂
Bro is a beast
Ive hit 260lbs for 8 at 160lbs. This is impressive but not impossible for the average gym goer.
Csn you do one armed muscle up like he can though? 😮
@justinava1675 the average gym goer are no rock climber nor calisthenics athlete, keep those shit apart
I was at a quiet small gym a good few years ago down in a place called hythe sothern England and the owner was a pro rock climber he was ripped to shreds and done finger pinch pull-ups for reps 💪🏼 was a good six foot as well
Magnus entered a strongman competition just to see how he would get on... There was a room filled with GIANTS in conplete awe at his strength, guy is a machine!!!
Don’t hate me but with Magnus’s age I wouldn’t be surprised if he runs a modest amount of TEST himself. He’s in better shape than some of the literal best climbers in the world
No hate to think your way, but He seems all natural I’ve watched his channel for a while now, he as freak athletic genetics mixed with rock climbing training makes him a beast! No gear at all!
@@TheBaBaTV Test wouldn't have any noticeable effects. It's also not really a bad thing, when used in moderation(and on people who have low test) test replacement has no real negative effects on health.
The gaslighting 😂
200lb isn't THAT heavy on lat pulldown with that handle, I attempted 120kg on a cable machine once and the cable attachment broke cos it was an old machine 😂😂 but I did lift it a few reps before it broke
Magnus has done way more than this, 140 kg I think was his record
His max isnt 140kg by the way that moves@thatabu
@ Yes it is. Check out his video with Cim Johansson
He did reps with eddies wich was 130kg and youre probably heavier than 60kg
@@RustyIsScared Yeah he repped 135 kg which was insane and his sets were done with better form than Eddie’s
Always full motion
I max the stack, double cable, and haven’t done a pull up in years
He’s got that natural made strength
That’s awesome bruh
That’s how it is dude
I think its how the exercise is implemented turning it into a compound lift where all the involved muscles are simultaneously used. Whereas a bodybuilder would want to isolate perhaps just the lats while trying not to use the other muscles as much. Nonetheless impressive.
Flexibility and endurance will build density.
Im 75kg and move like a gymnast.
Aiming for 80 and will share the videos.
What a burn 😅😅😅
Difference between training strength and size
Bro full range of motion there that’s nuts
Ohhh.. you got our boy on Gear
I love the collab with magnus 😂😂 please post more 😂
Every Norvegian guy called “Magnus” is just built different
Dudes back is insanely strong
9 reps, its amazing how much functional strength he has.
just so fucking strong 😂
Pure Norwegian strength 💪🏻
People who do rock climbing like he does are built different but magnuss is in a league of his own 💪💪🤣
I think its partially because its not only his back/lats whatever that are pulling like with a weight-lifter - His wrist/hand/finger strength are all adding to the total force pulled.
Great analysis.
God bless❤
I’m a boulderer of 20 years, my fav thing to do in the gym is max pull downs, or 100kg with one arm. But because I have the physique of a climber people never expect that kind of strength.
What climbers do?
Never underestimate the sleepers. Power to weight ratio is everything.
No it's not, who wants to look like a Dyel and have mid strength
Never underestimate the power of functional strength
Larry and juji are putting on an act, making it look like magnus has superpowers so they can sensationalize him and get more views. They could both double the weight if they wanted to. This is less weight than I do on lat pulldowns for reps and I’m not sure if I can even bench 225. Larry benches and squats 3 times more than me, I think he could do 400lbs on lat pulldowns easily
That last statement was awkward he sounded arrogant although I'm sure he didn't mean to 😆
This is what actual strength and proper health looks like, he can lift 50 more pounds then his body weight but also remain incredibly agile and capable of a lot of range of motion that the bigger guys can't, I've never understood getting massive to the point you cant move. This kind of strength however is 10X more useful and beneficial to your health
It’s amazing how strong the guy is.
That depth is crazy
Magnus has insane NME (neuro-muscular efficiency) it’s the reason why small people can still be exceptionally strong. Aside from things like bio mechanical advantage.
Dude is free balling lol
Other men, impressed with another man’s performance instead of trying to knock them down a peg or two about time 👏🏽
Same with anatoly
There's just a lot of strength in the muscles and nerves an sinewy thingies
Doesn't have to be bulky at all
I can’t get it why you’ll are saying it’s so unbelievable. I’m 72kg (158lbs) and 200lbs is about to be my normal working weight on this machine. Now it’s 80kg what is 198lbs. And mean it’s my working weight, so I can do it 6-8 reps with good technique (not like in a video because it’s bullshit)
If Larry complimented me on an exercise that would be the pinnacle of my lifting career!
Body weight reps gets you stronger than just weights.
This is incredibly impressive
Magnus in Is prime climbing was an Absolute beast
*on rep 9*
“You made it past the 10 reps”
The amount of muscle and strength per pound is unfathomable
Rock climber strength is similar to old man an farmer strength. Insane core an all round 💪🏼.
Rock climber focuses on pushing it down and powerbuiler focuses on it targeting the back
Magnus goat of chess
Magnus, goat of rock climbing
Magnesium, my breakfast
