been loading up on chiling reign booster boxes for past 2 months. 2 cases. multiples of blisters. and loading up on psa 10 alt arts just grabed 3 galarian Rapidash alt art psa 10 last night. been in hobby since 2018. and i would say this is the sleeper!
I hope if you've been in since 2018 that you loaded up on Team Up and Cosmic 😎
@@pokeoz91 😔 unfortunately it was the beginning. team up have one booster box mint and maybe 20blisters. i did get the latios and latias alternate are for $20. had 3 cosmic BB down to 1. maybe 20 blisters left.
i remember when cosmic came out majority of ppl didn’t like it. but the fact was there’s was more cards in that box worth money at the time.
@albertchavarria4578 Isn't it funny how you just never really know what's going to go crazy. I remember mint gold star cards (other than Ray and zard) being $50-$80 for so long and the boosters being on shelves for years at retail.
Sad to say...I don't want anyone else getting in on this before I can save up enough to get one chilling Reign box. Fomo on me for sure, I think it's slept on like Gengar Mimikyu Alt Art was when I saw it at $70 NM.... I hope I can get in on a box or two of Chilling Reign before it's too high in the sky....
That's the other great thing about Chilling Reign, it's entry price is still good. Times are tough at the moment, I hope you can get yourself a couple of boxes 👌
I bought a few booster boxes of Chilling Reign back when the box prices tanked. I ended up opening them all but one and regret it more as time goes on! Even at msrp I may pick up a couple more. Good info Oz!

@@pokeoz91 The only pull I remember was a secret rare fighting energy. I took a big L opening those boxes. Almost every time I open a product it's like a slap in the face that it's a waste of money lol keep sealed sealed and just buy singles is what I aim for these days.

Both are potentially interesting investments. I'd buy both 50/50.

CR my favourite Sw&Sh set since it came out. I call it the dark, colder set in comparison to ES. It's a set full of non mainstream pokemon who got beautiful card arts. Gal Zapdos and Moltres art just can't be topped imo. So much different and sometimes trippy art styles, which I like a lot.
I agree, I think it's a set that really sets to its theme more than any other. 😍
Anything sword and shield. Buy anything old and invest.

It is the beat sword and shield set in my opinion after that comes evolving en fusion strike.❤

The moltres, the articuno, the zapdos, ice rider calyrex and even shadow rider calyrex.
To top it off with blaziken en zeraora and tornadus and my buddy slowking.
This set is Just amazing.
I made a dash for chilling reign I even started to collect the japanese counterparts as a side quest ^^
@hivemindsociety2972 Not to mention some sleeper Waifu cards. There's 1 main reason I think price has remained fairly low. It's certainly not to do with the hits. It just was bad timing. Evolving Skies and Celebrations afterwards drawing all the attention. And a big 2nd print wave landing around those 2 sets. It's just meant supply wasn't absorbed quickly.

People should not sleep on this set because if you love alt arts the chilling reign cards are supreme !

Chilling Reign had a short window of player base attention due to Evolving Skies coming shortly after. It also had tough pull rates so a lot of people never got their chase cards from it. I think it has strong upside potential but I don't know if it will outperform Evolving Skies
It was overshadowed by evolving skies and celebrations just around the corner hey! Which is why I think there's still a heap of stock around and we haven't seen that real jump in price yet.

I think best bet is LO /w reprint. Could be wrong but brilliant through silver are going to go wild in 5 years with the trainer galleries.

Bought a box of chilling reign today. Obviously, evo will probably do better in the long term because of how frickin popular it is. When you made the video, the es booster box has gained 100 dollars in value in 8 MONTHS. I cant get my hands on one because I just don't have the budget to do so, so I have a second best option, chilling reign. Sure evolving skies has a crap ton of heavy hitters, I'll give it that. But chilling reign didn't get printed nearly as much as evo skies. Obviously evolving skies is better than chilling reign, but chilling reign is such a good secondary investment. That's my take on the argument

Tell you what Pokeoz, your vids are great to have playing in the background, and I know this comment is late but like many, 100% agree this is the set along side brilliant stars that will see the biggest jumps in the next 3-5 years. Ive just jumped in and got another box of each. Id like 2 of each SwSh booster boxes before the prices just boom. SwSh has the best art & agree it will be remembered for it.
I still havent made the leap for an evolving skies box though 😵

I think chilling reign is the obvious choice today, but there is somethong to be said about the multiplier appreciation ES will see and you'll definitely feel safe knowing your investment is safe. You give me a grand today and im buying 4 CR bb, and 1 ES bb

You have he exact same idea as me. I made a post yesterday on the /r/pokeinvesting subreddit where also noticed the huge amount of cards over 5 dollars. This set is sort of a Evolving Skies light, not even comparable to Fusion Strike which only has a handful of cards besides the heavy hitters that are worth something.
Agree, agree! Far better than Fusion Strike overall. But Fusion Strike will be carried by its fan favourite pokemon, Gengar, Mew etc. Sort of like Phantom Forces was.
just bought a case of Chilling ENG and 5 Boxes of the german version. I also think Chilling is badly underrated.

My dark horse is Fusion Strike to increase in value in time l think both Espeon and Gengar will become more valuable and cause upward pressure on b/box price

What other sets in the swsh era do you think are going to rise in value in terms of booster packs
I'm not the biggest fan of booster packs. Definitely get Blister Packs over boosters or Elite Trainer Boxes if you can stretch or, of course, Booster Boxes. But in terms of the question, I think Lost Origin after its reprint will be a good pick up, Crown Zenith. I can't see getting a whole lot cheaper. Plus, it's a great set and the last yellow border English set.
Tried to get CR booster box for a good price but couldn't find one for a good price ... had to settle for a pair of CR costco bundle with eeveelution tins... better than nothing lol
True! If you search hard enough you should still be able to find it at a decent enough price 👌

Me too. It has by far the best trainer gallery imo.
The alt arts are pieces of art too. But there are only a handfull which is a bit too low imo.

Definitely a booster box. Just throw the extra little bit of money at it and get the full sealed booster box
Still one of the craziest things to me is buying full art Lillie from Sun and moon base earlier this year in February for $27 and now it being $115+ lol I have some other singles that spiked in price that I luckily bought earlier but that one is crazy to me

Chilling Reign has some great full art trainers. And some have relatively low pop reports for modern....

Pretty easy conclusion, one has way more room for growth. Way easier to get a 2x or 3x with Chiling Reign than it is for Evolving Skies.

Pokemon will reprint. Pokemon is a long term investment and is base on hyper. All the people that invested in charizard lost alot of money.
It took 20 years for charizard original to reach $300,000 plus

Will be interesting to see how the ultra modern charizards perform considering how much they've been printed..
It is not how many that will be printed. It how many will survive after 20 years. Even graded cards. Where slabs get damaged. People move all the time, mother nature like, hurricane, tornados and bad storage.
