They choose the feed in method to achieve a truly knotless look. These are just small box braids. You can see the knot/bulky start of it. No hair braider who does knotless braids would see this and think it’s better or that it achieves the same look.

This is exactly what I was thinking. This is a regular box braid. It's beautifully done nonetheless, but it's not a knotless braid. You can clearly see the knot at the beginning of it.

these are not knotless.
if they were then that would defeat the whole " protective style " idea.
which is basically starting the braids with your own hair thus putting less tension and stress on t he scalp and hair
