@raftal528 Your Grandfather had good taste in cars.... Agreed that this is pretty incredible how well this car was preserved, especially with it sitting in a barn. thanks for the acknowledgment.. Hope you got a chance to check out the other video of this car and how it was when found.
@@scottscars4153 Before he had the Cressida, he had a Superbee and then a 76 Corvette. I saw the first video but was dying to see it fully cleaned, I'll definitely have to watch the others.
@@raftal528 Good deal!! I think you'll be pretty surprised if you watch the progress of the car till this stage. Once I'm done working on it I will do a few more to show just how nice it is, running, driving and looking. thanks for watching!! More cool cars to come
This Toyota Cressida had the same engine as my 1982 Supra 2.8liter inline six but the power was reduced from 145hp in Supra to 116bhp in Cressida. I only own and driven Toyota vehicle since 1979 and the 70's and 80's Toyota vehicles were the very best automobiles ever created in the industry till this very day. I should know for I been a only a Toyota own for 45-years with Camrys, Corollas, SR5 trucks, Celica, Supra, MR2, Tundras going 300,000 to 600,000 miles with no major repairs of any kind!
@oak6845 You are completely correct, A Cressida and a Supra share the same powertrains. This is basically a 4 door wagon version of a Supra. The Toyota's from this era are what built their reputation for reliability and build quality. When you get a chance, check out the rest of the videos in this series, this car is something special
@@scottscars4153 I know Scott, love the Cressida. In the 1982 when i purchased my Supra the Cressida cost nearly the same as my Supra. Really great station wagon, you have yourself a "Jewel".
@@oak6845 Thanks, it's great to see people appreciate these cars for what they are. Hopefully you had a time to watch a couple of the other videos I've posted, it's really impressive. I will be adding a few more once it's fully cleaned up and 100% sorted out, but the last video I posted is getting really close. Thanks for your support!!
Subscribed on your advice and shot over to this video. It looks great and I'll be looking forward to the final reveal. It looks like there was some damage (?) to the leading edge of the driver door (paint chipping). Was this in an accident? Also, I'm going to say that the rear window seal and hatch rubber are going to be replaced as well, yes? Great wagon. Wish I had the $$ to spare to make you an offer. I'd buy it in a minute. Great job!
@tomwebber9377 It does have a little damage on the front edge of the left front door and the rear window seal is weathered. I have the chrome corner piece, but I removed it so it didn't get lost as I wasn't happy with how it was attached. I really like it being so original and I'm a little torn on if I should try to touch it up or leave it. Thanks for checking it out. If you haven't followed me you might want to, I come across all kinds of very unique cars and I'm trying to make an effort to share them thru videos.
@JasPlun follow my channel, once I'm done with it I'm planning on running it with No Reserve on Bring a Trailer Someone is going to get a super cool and Rare classic!!
This is incredible. I'm glad the tin worm and time have spared this example. My grandfather had a Cressida sedan back in the early 80s.
