Always love the Videos & love cleaning my 2022 Raptor. ** Suggestion when editing make a pop up of what detail geek product your using so we the people know
Good tip to keep a detail brush in the truck. I started doing that after you mentioned it in an earlier video. There is also a brush by each computer. One gets frequent use for phone and calculator as well, and is in the pencil holder on my desk. They are not just for cars and trucks!
Ruby turned out beautifully. If this wasn’t the perfect advert for getting a new vehicle ceramic coated I don’t know what else is! Looking forward to shopping the sale.
I just had someone complain I used the word "Leapt" rather than "Jumped" on my video the other day. People will complain about anything simply because its the internet. Keep using the pressure washer big dog. I do the same thing and my paint is fine.
heres a tip to get weathertech floor mats looking new. Use dedicated tire/rubber cleaner or just use wheel cleaner! The trick is to let it soak (keep it wet. DONT LET IT DRY) and use a hand held brush. If you notice, only the corners and tight areas stay dirty. Thats simply because the drill brush cant get in those spots when spinning. It will jump over the valleys. But when you use a straight handheld brush you can get into all the corners in the mat. Another tip is to brush along the lines/design, not against. After youve done that, put some rubber shine, or rubber protectant and boom. Done! also pressurewashing lots of dirt does slightly damage the paint. Both in the rinsing stage and the contact wash. Doesnt hurt to take 30 seconds and put a prewash.
I was ready for this today! Wanted to get my question in again about cloths: "Quesion I have always wanted to ask, is how many cloths do you use on a detail, last weeks truck was a lot bigger, but you must have cloths for all different places you are cleaning, then how do you best clean those cloths? Quick cold wash or longer hot wash in the washing machine?" Proper geek question I know! :) Love the videos!
I have a Ram 1500, which is the same size truck. I go through about 6-8 when Im wiping down and drying. I just through them right in the normal laundry, along with a huge washing mitt. Warm/Warm is what I use for clothes and the mitts. They have held up perfectly for years and years.
I thought I was the only one when stop at the light I look around and wants to clean off the dashboard and other areas. Good to know that I'm not crazy. 🤣🤣🤣
I've been watching your videos for 4 years and thoroughly enjoy them, along with learning quite a bit. I've had Weather Tech floor mats/ liners before and share your frustration with the permanent staining and loss of flexibilty in the cold. I've changed over to Huskey Liners custom mats which have a rubber feel and have been extremely happy with them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with us!
I have a 2021 Ram 1500 in Delmonico Red. Close to your color. about 75% of the time, I get away with pressure washing (learned it from you), then foam cannon (you), then Ill just re-pressure wash and dry with microfiber towels. My paint has held up beautifully. Its crazy how much additional dirt the foam pulls off the truck. Thanks for all of your tips/tricks. I also follow your door sill and fuel door washing protocol
Ruby looks great!! My Ram is 3 years old this year and I have rock chips under the doors and some door dings, despite parking far from other cars. Thanks for the heads up on the sale!! Big Red will be so clean.
Wow! I thought I was the only one that did that! Yay, I’m not alone! I have been keeping a detail brush in my door pocket for years. Whenever I hop in the car and the sunlight is hitting everything just right, it really shows the dust, and that drives me nuts. When that happens, I pull out that brush and do a quick mini detail of the steering wheel, dash, and center console.
I love to see Ruby in your videos, you take such good care of her. Great tips of things to put in the car. Definitely should do that. Have a lovely weekend DG viewers!
I thought I was the only person that did some spring cleaning when I was stopped, and thank you for your channel I've learned quite a few things about cleaning my vehicle
Did my first detail for a client today! Still a rookie but they were thrilled with there vehicle! Even started this channel to hopefully my car videos soon! Love your Vids Geek!
Nice truck. Self care is always good for the soul.😊 I made a big mistake by using cheap tire shine and they look dirty. I need to get your tire shine and stop cutting corners!! Lesson learned.
Beautiful truck ! I had the same issue with Weathertech mats and they seem to get worse as time goes by. I purchased a 22 Acura RDX Platinum Elite a couple of years ago and bought Tuxmats instead, better fit and finish than Weathertech and don’t leave staining after just pressure washing. I’d highly recommend them !
I carry a small detail brush, an extendable handle swiffer duster (to reach the whole dash board), a roll of paper towels, and glass cleaner in my Explorer. I go to the park every day for lunch and give my Ruby a quick touch up when she needs it. The dust really shows up on the black interior.
I have the same weather techs in my f-150, kind of glad it’s a material thing and not my lack of elbow grease that keeps the dirt stains from coming out.
I know I'm a month late to this, but as someone who worked detailing for over 12 years, I can say that the people saying pressure washing damages paint probably used the spinning head on the pressure washer. Doesn't matter if you're at 1600, 1900, 2000, 2400 PSI, if you use that head it can very easily take everything from stickers to glued on parts to, yes, paint off if you aren't careful. I learned early on (and had to teach it MANY times) to only ever use the straight line nozzle like you always use. Though again if you got really close it COULD probably damage stickers, and it might chip off paint near rusted lower parts/wheel wells on older worn down vehicles, but like you use it I really had no issues ever.
Beautiful truck. Always a pleasure to watch you work and hear your explanations. I like what you did with the Picture in Picture when you discussed your sale that was first class editing.
Wheel and tire cleaner works great on rubber floor mats, even weather techs. There are also floor mat specific products that will work. There is even a "dressing" to help bring back the luster of old, faded rubber mats.
Ruby is looking great for 4! 💜💜💜 It’s been 4 years….holy cow that’s flown by- I remember when you first showed her off on here!!! As always, super great vid!
it always amazes me to see people tell you how to do a job you're obviously very successful in! i've been here for a long time and those folks haven't seen how much you've grown your brand over the years. i remember your brown F150 and when you got your Raptor, it was your dream truck! battle scars leave great memories in your vehicle, have fun on your next adventure Ruby!
Just got my drill brush set, microfiber towels and my pet hair detailer in the mail! Thanks Mike! Making my journey on being the best detailer in my area!!
It's amazing what good cosmetic maintenance does to preserve a vehicle (working condition + value). Especially in areas where the weather is rough... Thanks for uploading good content & wishing good luck with the bargains. 💙
Man Mitch you got ruby all cleaned up and looking brand new it's still crazy how you keep it looking brand new even tho it's 4 years old as always keep up all the hard work your doing
I put WEATHERTECH mats in all my vehicles and could never keep them looking clean! I started using MOP & GLOW with a microfiber cloth after vacuuming and it makes them look brand new without making them slippery. Top Tip, MOP & GLOW makes spray on bed liners look brand new!! Keep the videos coming brother
To dear mitch. I would like to say you are a truely inspirational, also educational with all your knowledge. Congatulations on the hard work your doing. Well done mate.
I also own weathertech floor mats in my car and using a 50/50 mix of degreaser and water with a drill brush helps me get rid of those pesky stains. Hopefully this helps!
That's funny about the brush in the car cause I do the same thing. I also keep those Gel Packs that you can get in the Detailing department at Canadian tire to use on my upholstery and interior as well as a Swiffer Brush in my glove box. Keep one in my wife's ride as well. Before I leave I give the Cars a quick clean and off I go. Idk I just feel better driving in a clean vehicle. Love your videos and keep up the great work.
Hi from Germany! I have weathertech floor mats as well. I am using Gummifix from Koch Chemie (Guf). I don‘t know if it is available in your country, but they look brand new again without becoming slippery.
Weather tech is now marketing their own cleaner/ protectant package, available at Canadian tire. The cleaner is best used after the degreaser and drill brush; the protectant does shine it up pretty well.
You take very good care of your vehicle. Ruby still looks immaculate after 4 years. Dusting while stopping at lights is next level...I see the dust, the dust seems me and we both mind our own business .. I need to do better 🥲🥲
What a wonderful job of cleaning of your own truck it is so shiny and really cleaned. The seats are in excellent condition. I cannot believe you kept them that way. Keep up the good work on your truck and I like the way you do your videos and this actually help me to do some detailing for my friends and my family.
Ruby is looking sharp! Have you ever done a video showing your shop organization? Clearly you have a good setup to grab products and cleaning tools to keep you efficient! Would be cool to see.
The raptor turned out fabulous! Those rear tires have seen better days though. I started drill brushing my floor liners recently along with my simple green, what a difference in how clean you can get them!
Some things are out of our control as to what happens to our vehicles no matter how well we care for them, even lil car has damage that i had no control over after 15 years, but Ruby looks amazing still!
I use my drill brush with “super clean” brand degreaser on weather tech floor mats and it always removes the stains. I know you have your own line of products but I’d recommend trying it since the steamer didn’t work.
Another great video. Question, you mention the ceramic coating on this truck that was applied 4 years ago, is this something you sell on your site? I see your ceramic spray, but you mention putting it on top of a ceramic coating, so that leads me to believe that the ceramic coating is something more durable. Thanks.
Lovely colour. Looks fantastic. I always find these videos inspirational. Can't wait to get at my own car this weekend. Thank you and keep up the great work.
I am so glad that you said that about not pre-soaking and just rinsing the vehicle down because people have said that to me as well that all if you don’t use a pre-soap, it’s going to scratch it up and that’s just wrong because I do mine, the same way that you do yours Thank you for that input and thank you for the great videos you put out there I really admire what you do and I love your ruby red Raptor
Presoaking is the latest "fad" in detailing. Just detailers promoting the process for us to use more product and for them to push them to us. I don't use it and if my truck is not very dirty I don't even use two buckets.
I have a white, Ford E-series van, and there are black streaks in the paint for lack of car from previous owners. They don't simply wash out, what would you suggest? I have not put much effort into it yet, but planning on doing a deep clean and some rust repair next month when it's a bit warmer. Thank you. Oh, and your glass cleaner rocks, cleanest I've ever gotten the inside of my windshields.
I was disappointed with the Weather tech front mats in my previous vehicle, so I switched to Smartliner. When I bought my used Pacifica minivan lasr winter, I ordered the full set of Smartliners for it when I got it home. They do not stain like the other brand. They wipe clean!
Mitch I enjoyed watching you clean the steering wheel, I noticed as you leaned into the truck your body must of hit the power seat switch! As the back of the seat moved in the clip! I do this every time when I clean my Fusion! Your Truck Looks showroom quality! Absolutely Beautiful Truck!
Beautiful truck! I had WeatherTech mats in my last truck and had the same issue , this time I opted for the ones Chevy sells and they’re definitely a better material
If you use a pressure wash without pre soaking, you can risk slight damage to paint, but thats in cases where you just spray and walk away, the attention to detail and post treatment you put into paint protection especially the ceramic coating insures you will not have this issue, keep up the good work buddy, God bless and have a great day.
That's my situation right now, had a"professional shop" put GTechniq on my Jeep and I rent so I don't have a place to hand wash it, so it's dirty AF. I do take it to those car wash bays and wash it off the best I can, but of course it's just not the same. Wish I had a house again with a well so I don't have to worry about water bills.
Hi....Can you give me some advice? I recently bought a second-hand VW Polo from a local VW dealership. Some of the panels have this bland areas on them. I have polished those spots - they are as big as tennis balls. The polish didn't do anything to make them vanish or shiny. Can I use cutting cream, and should I use cutting cream with a polish machine? Will it damage the paint more?? How do I get rid of those bland spots? Do I just polish some more??
I have the same truck same color almost all the same options. Mine is a 2020 with 92k miles. I’m gonna keep it forever. Surprisingly it gets washed more than yours. Where did you get your mud flaps? I’m sick of everything spraying on my bass boat.
I know exactly how it feels to not want to clean your own vehicle. I’m a mechanic by trade and the last thing I want to do is maintenance on my own stuff. For me detailing is fun to do since it’s not what I do for a living. Same goes for others out there who find wrenching on their own vehicles as fun, they don’t do it every day! PS. That particular color Ford offers is one of my absolute favorite colors ever offered by a manufacturer. I’d absolutely love to have a super duty or Bronco in that same color. Heck, I’d love to maybe see it even on my Tacoma haha!
Use the vinyl and leather conditioner on the weather tech Mats it’ll soak in and make them look like new again you can also use a heat gun to bring the oils in the plastic to the surface
Whatddup bro! Been watching your vids for a while. My secret trick to black WeatherTech mats is to use Meguiar's M4016. It makes the black pop without a residue and smells SO freaking good. Keep up the good work.
Ruby is more than happy and refreshed the glowing back after five months. Pah! The tires and windshield are new replacements. Now you can drive safely to go somewhere. Have a wonderful weekend! 👏😏❤️
For someone who does a lot of detailing on the regular side I would not be surprised to find out Mitch does not do a lot on his own vehicle. His truck can be slipped into the schedule when he was the time. Besides, from what I understand, it does tend to get dirty easily in Canada in the winter... BTW, did you coat the wheel wells with the ceramic coating as well?
bro what make jet wash do you use ? can you give me a link to someone who will deliver to Europe ? I used to own a hand car wash and always had trouble with some of the equipment, the main one being the jet wash, I am looking to get back into this line of work after a few years, watching your video's makes me want to start it up again
Nice to see Ruby all cleaned up again! 😍😍😍
Head over to detailgeekautocare.com to check out the HUGE Spring Blowout Sale!! 😎

Exactly!! Super handy to have everywhere!
@TheDetailGeek I thought you were going to sell Ruby for a moment
I buy cheap paint brushes, and keep them in the door cubby, as well as the desk drawer near any computers I own
Can also keep a microfiber towel in your truck/car. Good for wiping up dust and potential spill.
Hey ladies buy you some paint brushes or make up brushes and them In your vichicle and on your computer keyboard, use toothbrushes too ❤❤❤❤

Stellantis built Rams (all Rams are rust out prone)So take special care of it,at least they are better than Silverados though

You make me miss my 18 Raptor. I loved it but it had way too many problems. Couldn’t take it anymore and got rid of it.
Living in Canada I understand how muddy it can get. Love how it turned out.
Weatherteck has their own cleaners for the mats. I think one is silicone based. Try something like that next.
Man Mitch you got ruby all cleaned up and looking brand new it's still crazy how you keep it looking brand new even tho it's 4 years old as always keep up all the hard work your doing

A man's bride and joy is not only in his kids but also his vehicle knowing that he was able to clean it and make it sparkle while on the road.😊😊😊
Tire / rubber cleaner and a brush on Weathertech mats. Works like a charm.
Your truck is my dream truck!
I currently own a 2019 F150 Platinum that I enjoy.
Mitch, Ruby looks fantastic! My dad's truck was just 2 years old, and while it had the new smell, it was scratched up already.
So...at 18:36, what is that hanging from Ruby's review mirror?
A pen15 with wings?
That's funny about the brush in the car cause I do the same thing. Keep one in my wife's ride as well. Before I leave I give the Cars a quick clean and off I go. Idk I just feel better driving in a clean vehicle. Love your videos and keep up the great work.

Me too! I keep a detail brush in my console. I pull it out at red lights...clean those crevices around the steering wheel and around the shift knobs.
Right on!
It's nice to see you detail your precious Ruby Mitch. Looks great
Thank you! 😊
I use my drill brush with “super clean” brand degreaser on weather tech floor mats and it always removes the stains. I know you have your own line of products but I’d recommend trying it since the steamer didn’t work.

Ruby is one lucky girl to have someone in her life that takes care of her so well.
Ruby looks amazing! What ceramic coating did you use? As much as I love the WeatherTech car mats only 303 brings them back to perfect.
Lovely colour. Looks fantastic. I always find these videos inspirational. Can't wait to get at my own car this weekend. Thank you and keep up the great work.

For your mats, you could try a heat gun like they do on the hard plastics on the Chevy Avalanche when they get discolored
I discovered your channel by clicking your Kia van video after I fell in love with it.
I bet Ruby rode great after that long awaited bath! Great job. Thanks for being honest. Oh yeah.....Great Job as usual! Love from Charlotte NC.
My dad named his 2013 F150 Ruby, too. He loves that truck.
Thank you for saying that a pre-soak is not necessary, but leave it to others if that is what they want to do.
11:44 that transition is so clean
Beautiful truck! I had WeatherTech mats in my last truck and had the same issue , this time I opted for the ones Chevy sells and they’re definitely a better material
Man u sure do know how to clean these dirty whips thank you 😊👍😊!!!

Tire shine with my drill brush works really good for getting those brown marks out of my weather tech mats
P and S Natural Finish on the matts - you have to let it cook for a bit but it leaves a non greasy (even when they get wet) finish|
Do you have a video dealing with the dreaded foggy headlight lens?
'Mike' backed into a snowbank?! Was he too busy choosing his next Timbit from the box? 😂
Ruby looks great after four years of service 👍
Hi....Can you give me some advice? I recently bought a second-hand VW Polo from a local VW dealership. Some of the panels have this bland areas on them. I have polished those spots - they are as big as tennis balls. The polish didn't do anything to make them vanish or shiny. Can I use cutting cream, and should I use cutting cream with a polish machine? Will it damage the paint more?? How do I get rid of those bland spots? Do I just polish some more??
Un bel entretien, pour cette beauté qui le mérite amplement, beau travail DETAIL GEEK, continuer ! 💯💯💪
Bud, can you do a video on cleaning up the studio? Floors etc.
My favorite videos to relax to, and even sometimes fall asleep. Love from Norway
Use the vinyl and leather conditioner on the weather tech Mats it’ll soak in and make them look like new again you can also use a heat gun to bring the oils in the plastic to the surface
funny you mention the Weathertech matts never looking clean and staining, mine do the same thing!
Hey Cynthia! Have a wonderful weekend. Yeah, Ruby looks shiny and new again.
I was told about your channel by another youtuber (Dumpster Diving Momma of 2) and WOW was she right !!! Your videos are awesome !!!!
bro what make jet wash do you use ? can you give me a link to someone who will deliver to Europe ? I used to own a hand car wash and always had trouble with some of the equipment, the main one being the jet wash, I am looking to get back into this line of work after a few years, watching your video's makes me want to start it up again
Nice transition to the spring sale announcement dude, props!
Great job! Ruby looks like a RUBY! Beautiful truck! Love her color! 👍👍👍👍
Excellent job their Mitch, so proud of you mate 👍😎👍, from NSW,Australia
