- The Porsche Macan is effectively a baby brother for the Cayenne. The two cars have a similar mission statement, but the Macan is a smaller and cheaper model that the company hopes will make Porsche ownership a more realistic proposition for more people. It is a great SUV, but priced to close to Cayenne. Then you have AMG A45, which is a tad smaller, lighter, considered cheaper and more fun. I really think that Porsche made the mistake of price positioning being too high.

When he was driving in Wales he mentioned the Macan fantastic handling and road holding capabilities, and guess what... the car was on the other side of the road ( white line )most of the time, thank God the sheep was having their lunch.

Great effort, but one thing i hate is that when they always say we can't fit this or that in. It's so clear before you get in and go anywhere that is going to be the case so please don't say it, it bloody stupid. The car is x by x wide and long. it ruins the whole thing. Bring home the cayenne so we have to hear the complaining.
my thoughts too. when she went on about luggage space i was thinking then just get a damn cayenne...

2 years later and the interior is already old fashioned with all those buttons. Needs an update like Panamera and Cayenne. And did you mention it’s a good Multi Purpose Vehicle? Well, it’s a SUV, not a MPV. But is it really that much better than the new Audi Q5?
How is that off-roading, you were on a road. I've driven my audi a4 down worse roads than that. City lad drives into a pot hole in the country side, tells people he went off-roading.

The only problem with the Macan is bland styling, otherwise it's very impressive.
Porsche, as I understand it, is incredibly UNRELIABLE ....I can't understand how you can perpetuate this HOGWASH of a "FANTASTIC REPUTATION"....tell that to the owners of these glorified Volkswagens that have suffered IMS bearing failures requiring new engines and ask them about "Porsche's Fantastic Reputation".....UBER QUALITY MY ARSE......

The Macan S is now my third Porsche. I now prefer it to 911 for real world - my next will be Cayman GTS if not a new version Macan S in 2020 when they arrive
