How spoiled we were back in the day , so much great music everywhere this one slipped through the net, absolutely brilliant I forgot Stuartyboy invented the eighties swagger dance lol.
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard, and one of the best videos. Jobson's dancing and general stage character was the best. That bit where he tilts his hat in this vid is the best!
same here, i only disovered Big Country and the Skids this time last year when i was 16.. now they're my all-time fave bands! class song, great guitars and drums!
can still remember the fabulous album cover of The Absolute Game - i knew every word of that album and 30 years later can still sing along with this great song!! priceless!!

Russell is in the white polo shirt and lilac bags on the left of screen playing a keyboard, the bass guitar wasn’t prominent in this track. And yes this was a dubbed video so no leads, cables, microphones or amps were required. If you can get hold of online or actual media of the time you’d see similar photos of him and the rest of the band in the very same clothes as they’d probably rolled stills photos into the days’ shooting. The setup for Richard, Stuart and Mike on drums is as seen on their 1980 tour also featured on a “Rock goes to College” show available on YT. Unfortunately this track was not played live, some of those from the extra LP that came with “The Absolute Game”, like “Incident in Algiers”were played.
Thanks for putting this up Sham 64.5, Great song, great band. As a plukie youth, I always wanted to be able to dance like Jobson, now I see this video again - I still do!
God bless Stuart Adamson..The Ultimate Guitarist

Still listening in 24, bloody best band ever
Even though I am only familiar with a couple of songs through RUclips, I'm definitely starting to like The Skids just as much as I like Big Country.
First Single I ever Bought!

Joy Division and Sex Pistols stole it all from these NED Highlander unique new wavers. DUH!
Into the Valley is of course godlike. But everyone forgets this utter classic
the two best frontmen in music were for me freddie mercury and richard jobson guitariststs brian may and stuart adamson .
