“Arrival” is the best thing they’ve done since Steve P. left. It’s a rock-solid and amazing album chock full of 100% winners and should have been a bigger hit than it was. Augeri owned it on that one for sure. Arnel sounds great here as well. I hope I get to see them play this live at some point, love this song!!
thanks Valor5torm, I was trying to look for the title her in youtube but I was so busy, but thanks anyway, i don't think Arnel ever sang that song before this was my 4th times in their concert never heared this song with Arnel Pineda.
Oh, I crash... and burn inside my mind It happens time and time again, I can't explain the way you make me feel Oh, I know... I don't have much to give But what I have I give to you with all the madness left inside of me With the madness left inside of me... oh And I try I try to reason why Don't you know I can't go on this way Baby please don't walk away there is this place Where I toss away my pride So you can see that I'm the one To take you to a higher place this time
Are you kidding with this? Don’t get me wrong. His voice is outstanding, and his story is downright inspirational. I respect the heck out of Arnel Pineda. He has worked very hard to get where he is, and I am so happy for his success. But Steve Perry is a serious “Mt. Rushmore of rock vocalists” contender. He’s one of the best to ever do it. Though the styles of the following singers are clearly different, as the music they play varies greatly, Perry is on the level of Ann Wilson, Rob Halford, Freddie Mercury, Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate. Steve Perry could rock his ass off, and then bring 20,000 people to tears with a ballad.
This is Augeri's song, and not a huge Arnel fan, but he did a good job with it. I lke SA's and Deen's harmonies on the bridge a bit better. They had Arnel much loader and you didn't really hear Deen, who does an awesome job with that.
No, I mean what he sings at the end of the song: "Forget what was and what had been, the side by sides and in betweens The years and yesterdays, *mumble mumble* on your way baby Go raise your sights and lift your dreams to a higher place this time"
I had no idea they were actually performing Augeri-era songs with Arnel. That's amazing. This was always my favorite non-Perry-performed Journey song.

I haven't been a huge fan of Augeri's voice but this was definetly his song to sing. Though Arnel sang it pretty good.
@xrisman They are making into a movie. It's called Don't Stop Believin': Every Man's Journey
2024

God damn it! Not even Arnel Pineda knows the last few lines that Augeri mumbled through! What's it gonna take to find out what he's saying?
can we TALK any more during the SONG dude?
And sing off-key while recording.

what about "Pack your things, get on your way baby" :)
Pack your things get on the way
Miss the high harmonies. That was the beauty of this song-those harmonies. Arnel’s voice covers them up. Love him but his voice is just too strong.
The harmonies are there. The off key crowd singers are the ones that drown them out.
what the fuck arnel let dean sing the harmony.
I do not care for Arnel, I want Steve Auguri back in the band. ♥ Journey original members!
Augeri isn't even close to an original member
Someone didnt know what he/she wishing for. You want him to burried early? He stopped being with band because he was sick with cancerous vocal chord.
Definitely not as good of a blend on the harmonies.

It's "Higher Place", original to the "Arrival" CD with Steve Augeri. I'm gonna say it: SA is great, but all his songs sound better fronted by Pineda.
