Common rumour that it’s called your funny bone is because of the humorous bone but the humorous is actually your upper arm bone (the bone connecting your elbow to your shoulder) and therefore actually has nothing to do with the feeling of knocking said nerve and getting that tingly feeling we all know and hate and makes a lot of sense if you think about it logically because knocking a bone doesn’t impact anywhere else, try it, if you knock on your shin nothing else hurts, knocking on your knuckles only hurts your knuckles. Yes the bone is called the humerus but linguistically speaking I'm not sure there's much evidence for this being the sole reason for the term funny bone. In fact realistically speaking, were it not for that funny feeling when knocking it the term funny bone probably doesn't become a thing.
