Damon going after sage was so savage of him. It was so smart of him to find the sign with the same white oak to take down the originals. It’s such an iconic scene.
Naw you can’t be complaining about Alaric arc like that. This is actually one of the better parts of the season you have to wait until they reveal this build up around his character

Another thing that may not yet have dawned: if Ric was the killer, one of his victim's was dunh dunh dunhhhh... That being said, you all were astute re: Jeremy and what the rings being messed up could mean for him (one thing: in the intro, you seemed to think Jonathan Gilbert created the rings- he didn't, it was all Emily Bennett's magic). Although Damon manipulating Rebekah this way is pretty low (and the internalized misogyny with Sage and Rebekah is off the charts), this is one of his cleverest episodes. He's sitting there revealing the info out loud in the house's parlor where Rebekah could overhear, or Sage could turn on him, and you're left thinking he set himself up, yet then...he reveals he was intentionally not keeping quiet because he wanted them to think they'd thwarted him. Also, I still love that song choice and just the scenes with those dynamics in this episode. As to herbs helping quash darkness, and psyche-breaking deaths and things, without overtly spoiling anything, it might be fun to reconsider when else we heard about nebulous darkness this season. And also, while Ric is very much not himself because of the ring's influence and "cheating death" in general as Meredith pointed out, it's also worth taking into consideration the episode where Damon killed Ric so he could go kill Bill, and it led to Ric getting fed up with the Council's leadership in Liz & Carol and demanding to represent the Gilberts/the humans.

It’s not fair comparing Stefan to other vampires, he’s not called the ripper for nothin, and no one besides Lexi tried to help him and yeah damon could have took a gentler approach but this was progress atleast well in this ep. Note: I can’t blame Stefan for having it hard to control his blood lust bc his mom had the same problem so it’s basically a gene that was past down to him and not Damon which led to her getting locked up in the prison world in the first place.

@@DellaMcgee-mc4rf I know what damon is saying is true about they are predators, but the problem here is that Damon just threw Stefan a human girl to fed off of without any repercussions last ep and it didn’t help Rebekah being there like to me it was peer pressure in that moment, he could have tried a different way to teach him, and then maybe later down the road he would have been ready for that. And again it’s a genetic thing so, Damon should have considered that part. For example if a person was an alcoholic would you just throw them a bottle and tell them learn some control, instead of them learning some techniques first for them to cope better in the near future?
