A true enthusiast , but not pretentious! I don’t think any other fragrance RUclips has pointed me toward more fragrances I’ve fallen in love with that are actually affordable and accessible. Ok I thought it out . No one has ever recommended a perfume I like on RUclips , but Sebastian covers things in such a diverse way , you can tell he’s a true lover of fragrance. The way he describes things is so calming to me , and honestly very accurate , it’s so helpful, and I feel like I’ve learned more about how to vocalize my thoughts on fragrance due to Sebastian.
Oh my! the Jean-Louis Scherrer was my mother perfume in my childhood for years! Incredible scent. Enormous sillage in my memory. I haven’t sniff it for years but I.m sure it still smell so good.
I have two Jean- Louis Scherrers. I like the one that you have, it is a very elegant chypre fragrance. In the past few years I managed to buy expensive and/or discontinued YSL, Trussardi, Cartier, Boucheron, Jacomo, Aigner, Nina Ricci etc perfumes in flea markets and garage sales for a few bucks. It is my little passion to search for these treasures with patience. Then I give them to the family members the fragrances suit best. I keep some for myself, of course. Old perfumes really amuse me. I wish I could smell them all....
Great haul! I worked at the airport's duty free shop in Slovenia in the 90s and that Dali (the lip) was one of the most popular fragrances for men at the time, along with for example Hugo Boss Hugo and Davidoff Cool Water
Jean Louis Scherrer still exists, I have known it since my teen years. It still is available here (Belgium). It does remind me of Eau du Soir by Sisley.
Love the vintage Heritage! One of the classiest fragrances ever made, IMO. I’m lucky enough to have both the vintage EDT and EDP! The vintage EDP is especially hard to find. And yes, the ones everyone should be looking for are the ones with the GOLD cap, not the silver! I was also lucky enough to find the MFK Cologne Pour le Soir for a relative song a few years ago. I LOVE it, and find it SO much better than the Absolue (at least for me). The Absolue is so strong compared to the friendlier Cologne. They are so different! I don’t understand why they share the same name.
I'm a vintage enthusiast so I really love this content! I've always wanted to smell Marbert Man and this video makes me even more curious. There are three vintage fragrances I would highly recommend to you. The first would be Van Gils Pour Homme, also known as Van Gils Classic. If you ever see a vintage bottle from the 80s, go for it. I honestly think it's the best men's fragrance from that decade. The second would be Gres Monsieur. The third would be Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur, one of the most underrated classics.
I have worn Eau du Soir by Sisely for at least 20 years. It is my winter fancy events fragrance. It says, sophistication, couture, class and culture. An outstanding classic fragrance in beautiful packaging. Love it as much today as the day I discovered it while on vacation in the Algarve, Portugal. A warning however, IMO it is not likely to appeal to the under 40 crowd.
Scherrer 2 is also gorgeous. I prefer the green but you need both. (and btw, they are not expensive, a well-guarded secret.) Missoni is one I own & love. Love Vert D'Encens! ... one of my favorite TF scents. Vintage is where it's at ,,, facts. ;)
I was born in San Francisco, and as a kid I absolutely loved the gigantic novelty fragrance bottles downtown. I didn’t yet have a fragrance of my own let alone a signature scent , but I always thought those would make amazing decor pieces in one’s home or art studio.
Hey Sebastian. I picked up the the Scherrer EDP. It is as you said-so so good, its very Uplifting, lemony, but still 💚 green, without the sometimes too edgy galbunum. Thanks so much for the recommendation
Sorry, I sometimes get my comments mixed up as, for the most part, I am usually familiar with some of the fragrances you mention, and own some of the originals. Sebastian, your videos are always on point and of value for their authenticity.
GREAT video, loved this one! Must be in the air, I just picked up an early 90’s bottle of Fahrenheit and another of Escada Magnetism Pour Homme - neither one has lost a single step or its magic. Wish designer fragrances were still made this well…
There is a Fendi fragrance that I got from my sister in the 90s that was fire. It was a women's targeted fragrance but it smelled unisex and I loved it. I can't remember the name tho.
Oh, and I'm familiar with Jean-Louis Scherrer. Wonderful perfume of the mid-eighties I think, great success in France. I still wear it (EDP version) but how wonderful that you found a vintage.
🤯🤯🤯🤤🤤🤤 Vert des Bois. Wow. Portos certainly does get a lot of good feedback too. Same with Marbert Man. Your collection just keeps getting better and better Sebastian.💙
That's so exciting to find vintage/ discontinued gems! I finally used up my Queen by Queen Latifa, and I'm on the hunt for a replacement at a reasonable price, or a suitable alternative.
Salvador Dali PH is a dark, animalic blast from the past. It's beast-mode pretty much the entire journey and I love it. At least, the vintage version. Smells like Salvador Dali's grave.
Delightfull to see your impression for Salvador dali. Yes, should try full day, the dry down its amaziiing. Always envy to see you, got remarkable goods, on your trips.
Sounds like you had great fun choosing these bottles. So glad for you that some turned out amazing. One small thing say 'Le Diss' for correct French pronunciation (I'm French), it's actually one of my favorite violet perfumes.
OMG this is my heaven. Thanks Sebastian!. Right from the first one sounds perfect. Need to get. (Just picked up Fidji Guy Laroche today) Have both the TFs, D'Encens worn more than De Bois. De Fleur is the one i have back -ups of. Hey Ramseys channel is the one to watch for ALL the old school perfumes, hes an afficienado. Only single vintage pefume id have to mention to you is Givenchy 111. 😊
J.L. Scherrer has some pretty fragrances. I own One Love and the EDT you got which reminded me a little bit of Chanel’s 31 Rue Cambon. Scherrer‘s EDP version is also worth a try!
I love MFK pour le soir, I have half a bottle left I also had absolute le soir I adored it, wish I could get another bottle of that, it was so animalic and deep
I like the fact that you feel super-passioned in this video, I have had Salvador Dali pour Homme, and also Vert d'Encense - I loved it, it smells like old money, great video 👍
If you’re into vintage stuff you should check out Hove’ in New Orleans. It’s a vintage perfume shop that’s been around since like 1931 or something and they still make perfume in vintage style bottles
That Marbert man is not vintage. The very old ones have a maroon label. My spouse loves it and I managed to find a vintage splash mini. You can find those online still! Glad to hear that version still smells good. I never samples the new version.❤❤
Do you save miniature bottles. I've a few here you can have I can send pics of them. I see I have a miniature of that black lip bottle. Like you did show on this site
Yep, Ive got a few bottles of Oscar for Men. It came out in 1999. I like it quite a bit. Its even got a sort of precursor smell to Terre d'Hermes to my nose. I have a gold cap bottle of Guerlain Heritage, a silver cap Heritage and a few modern EDP bottles. And yep I have Salvador Dali Pour Homme. It smells like dog poop buried 6 inches under soil. Dense and kinda dark and mildly offputting. I like Salvador from his brand. I have that too.
Congratulations Sebastian 🎉 I have a similar thrill when I get my hands on great bottle but it’s even better if the juice is still good. That Jean Louis Scherrer is beautiful. I have two backup bottles of this. I also have A few bottles of Jean Louis Scherrer II. That one is a gorgeous oriental amber floral. It’s beautifully composed as well. The original was developed in 1979 and the II was developed in 1986.
OH MY GOD, 60 EUROS?? i thought i made out like a bandit getting a gold cap heritage edt 3.4oz for about $100. i didnt have any experience with it previously and its literally contending with my cosmair polo for my favorite. what an absolute beautiful masterpiece!
p.s. guess i commented too soon (yours was spoiled) i almost bought a factice Eau de Guerlain 90s bee bottle by accident for 50 bucks yesterday...the struggle is real lol
Was the vintage perfume shop in Dubai called Traditional Parfumerie, by chance? Towards the top of Jumeirah Beach Road? It's a total treasure chest, if so!
I've got Jean Louis Scherrer 4 years ago, and it was the worst fragrance I have ever smelled, even Mitsouko was bearable compared to it 😂 . However I didn't let it go and got Jean Louis Scherrer II as well which is not that green and it's sweeter.
I have absolut pour le soir and absolut pour le soir cologne 200ml. I bought this for 90 euros here in France. I have lumiere noire too. 70 euros I think 😂
I agree, very Harry Potter spell casting class. It's also called... Riverside Wormwood chrysanthemum weed, wild wormwood, old Uncle Henry, sailor's tobacco and naughty man 😂... I prefer Mugwort.
I have it. Smells to me like a mop bucket partially full with an ammonia-based floor cleaner with some flower petals thrown in and some cat pee, sitting in the darkened back of a utility closet.
I used to wear it in the 90s. I have an empty bottle and I actually forgot I was gifted a mini bottle of the Pavarotti last year. A mini collectible which I just kept as is not using but yes I remember that fragrance in the mid 90s. I'll see if I can find another.
Actually I went to his house which is a museum now in Modena Italy last year and there was a nice large display of his two or three fragrance releases.

Yes they have them at discounters here in the USA as well. I'm going to have to buy current versions in EDT and EDP to see how they compare! :)

Jean-Louis Scherrrer is amazing, it reminds me of Eau du Soir by Sisley. Love ! ❤❤❤
I need to compare it to Eau De Soir. But JLS is so good.
This is going to be good. Flea markets and fragrance hauls
Congrats on your new fragrances! Those Heritage, Fou D'Elle and Balenciaga Les Dix bottles are great! Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
Scherrer 2 is also gorgeous. I prefer the green but you need both. (and btw, they are not expensive, a well-guarded secret.)
Missoni is one I own & love. Love Vert D'Encens! ... one of my favorite TF scents. Vintage is where it's at ,,, facts. ;)
What a great find. Boy are you the lucky one.
There were some great finds for sure. Thanks for stopping by.
Like the storage locker finds! Did u see that video?
I was born in San Francisco, and as a kid I absolutely loved the gigantic novelty fragrance bottles downtown. I didn’t yet have a fragrance of my own let alone a signature scent , but I always thought those would make amazing decor pieces in one’s home or art studio.
Great old school vintage haul video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to check out these fragrances if I can find them and have a blessed day
How interesting!! Loved seeing these older bottles and it was super fun to see your enthusiasm for them too❤
Nice one Sebastian. You certainly hit the jackpot on your travels.
Like you I've found that vintage bottles are dabbers only
Hey Sebastian. I picked up the the Scherrer EDP. It is as you said-so so good, its very Uplifting, lemony, but still 💚 green, without the sometimes too edgy galbunum. Thanks so much for the recommendation

I have the Jean- Louis Scherrer EDT, the opening is very strong, but the dry down is so nice:) a great green chypre
I had Salvador Dalì... what a dive in the past! ❤
Salvador Dali PH is a dark, animalic blast from the past. It's beast-mode pretty much the entire journey and I love it. At least, the vintage version. Smells like Salvador Dali's grave.
I am a big fan of Salvador Dali fragrances even his art ❤️
Delightfull to see your impression for Salvador dali.
Yes, should try full day, the dry down its amaziiing.
Always envy to see you, got remarkable goods, on your trips.
I love Jean-Louis Scherrer too! So beautiful 😍
Thanks Sebastian for all you do. I def enjoyed learning about these classic fragrances😊
Sounds like you had great fun choosing these bottles. So glad for you that some turned out amazing. One small thing say 'Le Diss' for correct French pronunciation (I'm French), it's actually one of my favorite violet perfumes.

The Perfume Master with another Banger... Love these vintage frags.

Wonderful 🎉🎉🎉lets go...Sébastien 🐐👊🏽🎯
🎉
What a nice haul! I need to start going to more flea markets and estate sales to look for stuff.
Hi Sebastian, could you please advise where this market is? :)
How do you get so lucky! I love Guerlain! You come across some of the best gems!
That Marbert man is not vintage. The very old ones have a maroon label. My spouse loves it and I managed to find a vintage splash mini. You can find those online still! Glad to hear that version still smells good. I never samples the new version.❤❤
Héritage is an amazing fragrance. It inspired Coromandel and Le Lion de Chanel.
OOH
Always, always learn something! Thank you.
Thank you for stopping by! :)
I have a vintage bottle of the Dalí - a lovely, sad, vampiric, gothic fougère. Perfect for cool weather walks in haunted forests!
Very nice!
When you add haul, classic & discontinued in one video, you bet i take the time to watch every second.
Do you save miniature bottles.
I've a few here you can have I can send pics of them. I see I have a miniature of that black lip bottle. Like you did show on this site

My favourite green from Tom Ford, in fact my favourite Tom Ford is Moss Breches
I wish I had Moss Breches.
Hallo LANGE ORIENT EXPRES it's good?
I was lucky enough to score an mostly in tact 100ml Portos.. unfortunately my sprayer is a little whacky, but I can manage. Beautiful one!
Isn't it good, I love it.
Please review Chopard Cedar Mallaki (longevity etc).
OH MY GOD, 60 EUROS?? i thought i made out like a bandit getting a gold cap heritage edt 3.4oz for about $100. i didnt have any experience with it previously and its literally contending with my cosmair polo for my favorite. what an absolute beautiful masterpiece!

YSL Rive Gauge, Gucci Pour Homme I, Gucci Pour Homme II
That's really amazing. It's a steal like. Please mention the shop name if possible. Thanks.
I don't know the name of the shop I was taken there by a friend.
Was hoping you might have found an original ‘80’s 90’s Guerlain Vetiver
I am so happy for you 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have absolut pour le soir and absolut pour le soir cologne 200ml. I bought this for 90 euros here in France. I have lumiere noire too. 70 euros I think 😂
I wore Jean Louis Scherrer for years.
Am based in dubai, which store did you buy the vintage perfumes? Thanks Sebastian for an awesome video as always. 👌🏾
A friend took me in the perfume souk. I don't know the name or the address or the location. Sorry! :(
Is there anyway you could tell me about bois rouge by Tom Ford .Please
Marbert Man notes

Don't you just love Mugwort? Sounds like a medieval character! LOL! ;)
I agree, very Harry Potter spell casting class.
It's also called...
Riverside Wormwood
chrysanthemum weed, wild wormwood, old Uncle Henry, sailor's tobacco and naughty man 😂... I prefer Mugwort.
Love Salvador Dali edt!
Missoni does knitwear mainly. Seb is like a child in a candy store! 😂
My man Sebastian getting stoked for a bottle of vinegar makes me happy...
that MFK bottle... i'm so envy now! :D
I wish I can get my hand in Givenchy Insense. Found memories on that one.
There was a stock online at the discounters like a year to two years ago it's now run out sadly. But yes Insense is amazing.
I have it. Smells to me like a mop bucket partially full with an ammonia-based floor cleaner with some flower petals thrown in and some cat pee, sitting in the darkened back of a utility closet.
Salvador Dali! Sounds great
Can we get a brand breakdown/ranking of Robert Piguet?
Been thinking about it but must build my collection of fragrances from the house. 😀
Portos is ❤️
What a steal on the Mercari purchase 😅😭 I know the feeling of holding your breath 😂
I was very nervous for that purchase.
I bought a bad Creed Millesime Imperial on Mercari.
Great video
Comment for support
Great video 👍
Nice
I think you should get the address from your friend so if any of us able to go there , we can experiment with what you did.
Hey Sebastian sell me the Portos!
The address please Sebastian 😊
Sadly I don't know what the address is. It's in the perfume souk. I was just taken there.
Not you gatekeeping the store. I’m sure the friend can tell you the name or the address 😂😂
Pavarotti, wallstreet, arrogance , acteur, fendi uomo , Charles jourdan homme
OOOH. I have Acteur by Azzaro but do not have the rest.
@@ThePerfumeGuy as a patcho lover you should at last try to obtain a bottle of Pavarotti. That s the only celebrity fragrance which is superb
🌹
This is a haul, yes. But 40%. This is 60% flexing! I hate you Sebastiannnn LOL I'm kidding how can I hate my idol
You forgot about Caron Yatagan 😁
Ramsey talks highly of Balenciaga pour Homme
Jean Louis Scherrer is not too feminine for a man?
Or you put them in shoes 😁
Nice on Seb. I got the new one, luv it mate.
Apparently mr Doves first breakout scent.
