I'm a Baroque scholar and I could easily believe this wonderful piece could date from the early 17th c. if there were such pieces (and I'd be delighted if there were such pieces from the period in Hebrew). It's really gorgeous, and the text of course is also beautiful (and such perfect diction and intonation). Amazing. I love it.
Too much affectation in the performers. They should also have dressed for the occasion and not as if they were getting on a bus. The English translation is also wanting. The music is very good Italian Baroque style (Rossi, Marini, etc.). Beautiful music, lame performance/video.

Ensemble Profeti della Quinta was founded in the Galilee region of Israel by the bass singer and harpsichordist Elam Rotem, and is based in Basel, Switzerland, where its members undertook further studies of early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
