For many SM groups, i find that the performances are always better than the MVs. It isn't just because you have less distractions, for me it's really just because the MVs SM produces are the least spectacular among all the elements in their idols' promotional activities. The idols are really talented, they do so much justice to the song and the dance, but SM needs to step up its MV game a bit more to showcase them better. That's why for a lot of them I prefer to watch live stages or dance practices. There are exceptions for me though, I loved taemin's Move MVs and RVs Bad Boy MV
