I’ve been smoking cigarettes since I was 15 to about 23 and transitioned to vapes ever since. I am 29 now. Today will be my 9th day completely free of nicotine. I thought about going out and buying a bottle of juice again to get my fix but it’s not worth it. If you already have the mindset to quit, follow through with it. You will find it a lot easier than you would think!! I never thought I would go this long without vaping but man I’m on my 9th day! Weird bc I didn’t experience any withdrawals, I get cravings still and I think that’s something that won’t ever go away, but for sure I am better off than I was the first few days. Only gets better. I've been trying to quit for 2 years . It's harder then people portray . The struggle is even worse when you have mental health issues .
It's not just a craving , it's dealing with the emotional rollarcoaster that comes with withdrawals.
If you have a job , a busy life, a distraction to help you quit , you probably will do well .
But for those who don't I want you to know that your not alone .
If your struggling to quit vaping please know your not a failure.
Every time you try , your taking a step forward (even if you relapse , don't beat yourself up)

I was using a 2000puff vape DAILY , and swapped it for 1 pack cigarettes.

Just keeping your mind busy and body moving is a great way to ease tensions. But, what I’ve been telling myself that’s been helping the most is that all of it is a lie! I heard that nicotine withdrawal is a lie pushed by companies to keep you hooked and scared to quit. Just keep telling yourself this. Also, mint gum is a huge help. Good luck!!!

I’m 27 days into it, I’m personally surprised I’m far into this. It’s hard to really commit to it when you dont have many videos/articles about quitting vaping because it’s “trendy”. I’m glad I have quit, I was able to find many ways that helped me not think about it during this. The first week was the worst because I had to adjust to this new lifestyle I’m trying to bring in of not vaping anymore, but also finding what helps me not think about getting a vape. I bought the nicotine gum, and used it for 2 weeks, I got tired of the feeling of nicotine for how it made me feel sick so now I just chew peppermint gum. The peppermint gum helps give me the same burn as the nicotine gum, but without nicotine. At this point I don’t even crave for anything nicotine related, I’m really surprised, but it’s different for everyone. Quitting this habit is the best decision I’ve made in a long time. If any of you are interested in quitting, just go for it, you won’t crave nicotine once you get past 3 weeks. If it was easy everyone would do it!

I'm working on it. I got all the way up to the 5% stuff, 2 per week. Now I'm down to 1 puff every 3 hours. This doesn't sound like much progress but considering I was vaping 3-5 puffs, about every 20 minutes, this is a huge personal victory for me. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but I'm going to follow the tapering down method. I'm going to avoid alcohol because I really don't think I can drink without diving back into nicotine. I will beat this. I'm putting in more work at the gym and on my trampoline. Exercise and weed seem to help more than anything. I must say, at the start of this, I got full on dope sick. I was having a melt down, crying spells, severe depression and anxiety, borderline suicidal thoughts. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Vaping can cause lung inflammation and shortness of breath. Also depression. I always cough when I accidentally inhale and my throat is really hurt.

Currently 3 weeks stopping vaping and 2 weeks nicotine overall (I did patches at a reduced timeline of 1 week because I was addicted bad but didn’t want to use them for too long). Omg I’ve been going through a variety of symptoms. Sore throat, restlessness, anxiety and depression cycling out and into swollen lymph nodes/ tight neck, massive headaches currently. I tried quitting 4 times since I started at almost 17, now I’m 22. During some times I literally felt like the embodiment of poison when I would use it in conjunction with cannabis . The only physical symptom I have mainly is the headaches. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED! Who is with me to have discipline and self respect! A note to share, even though I was/am addicted to nicotine, I came to realize that I was also addicted to the sensation of smoking itself. So when I used cannabis and quit vaping I would eventually get back to vaping and vis-versa. The key is to cut out smoking/vaping in general. Ik that some need cannabis in order to mitigate neurological conditions, etc, etc but there are other solutions. Let’s support each other and ourselves to live long, happy and fruitful lives!

I started smoking when I was 12 years old. Once I hit 18, I started buying mods. I started out with a smok mod and tank, and mixed both cigs and vaping. I got so far deep into it, I was hiding it from my gf at the time. She was begging me to quit, and I was beyond stubborn about it. The day we split, she saw that I was lying about having quit when she saw the pack of marlboros on my passenger seat that I usually hid in the console. It cost me a relationship.
When I got to college, I got into juuls and alto pods. This was when they still had fruit flavors and mint. It was easier to conceal, and I was using it everywhere. I was a music major, and I was hitting it constantly in practice rooms, bathrooms, even sneaking it in class sometimes. I was going through three to four pods a week, and I won’t chalk it up to my constant sharing with others. I was having a major problem. I would sit in my apartment and do my homework, and I would clear a pod in one sitting sometimes. A full pack of cigs worth of nicotine. I still hadn’t kicked actual smoking at this stage, so I was still railing juuls at school and home and smoking whenever I was outside.
I’d wake up and the first thing I would do is take a hit of my vape. I wouldn’t even have my eyes open yet. The only reason I would wane off was if I didn’t have the money for it, which was pretty often. The mood swings that came from it gave roommates a ton of horror stories about me, and it cost me friendships.
I got into legal trouble back in March, and I quit every coping mechanism I had, good and bad, and had multiple mental health crises through the last 7 months. I’ve chosen to seek help instead of taking an early departure. I’m still in the beginning stages of that help, and now I’m here. Whenever I’m around something that I used to use to cope with stress, I don’t hesitate to partake (alcohol hasn’t been a problem. Don’t let anyone say weed isn’t addictive. That should seriously be the next substance on Truth.)
After a string of crises had me on the edge of a cliff, I chose hospitalization. Best choice I’ve ever made. But! I’m still facing a lot of enabling, both from myself and others. I’ve recently taken up smoking in lieu of a vape or disposable(I can’t afford one rn, no matter how much I crave one), and it tastes bad and hurts worse. I’ve only gotten back into it for about a week or so and I’m already short of breath. I’ve GOT to kick this dependency! I’ve been mixing these for way too long.

Ive been vaping for 10 months. Today is my first week no vape. Main reason I wanted to stop was cause i felt my sports performance dropped really badly and it made me feel so shit. Highschool me would be so upset about this because back then i was so active I trained every day represented my state as well. But i also stopped to save money and i felt like vaping had some serious effect on my skin. I noticed i was breaking out in backne and my back would be so itchy all the time. I cant lie idk whether its the vape but right after day 1 of no vape my back felt no itch and it looks like the backne is fading. I think thats what kept me going to quit i dont feel the temptations anymore i can go on longer for sure like this

Replacing vaping with energy drinks? Few reasons this is not a great idea: 1. These drinks are so unhealthy and add no nutritional value. They take you away from what your body needs and force you to feel energized when you may be needing rest or something else. 2) increased caffeine just raises anxiety levels, and can make it harder to quit.

Once a smoker always a smoker. I miss cigarettes everyday, even though I know they're terrible for me. I miss vaping too. Humans are made to breathe air, not smoke or vapor. You gotta do the healthy thing, always.

I’m going to try to replace my vape w some chapstick. Every time I get the urge to vape- chapstick to the face. Everytime I pay myself for my vape I’m gonna remember my chapstick. When I have the urge to buy a vape. I’ll buy a chapstick. Eventually I’ll have so many chapsticks I won’t have the urge to buy a vape. Let’s see how this works out. Day 1 of quitting

Nictotine mints that you can get at the drug store really help. CVS has a generic brand. (And if you sign up for CVS Carepass you get a free $10 to use each month and 20% off all CVS brand products , so it makes them even more affordable!) They’re like little tic tac type mints. Takes the edge off. Even when you’re drinking. I’m vaping again at the moment cause I had an ex put me on to NJOYs… but when I go to quit again I’m definitely going for the mints. Good luck all!

I watched this video as a hate-watcher last month. I was curious what kind of anti-vaping 'propaganda' was out there. But something stuck and I found myself watching again about two weeks ago. I could see so clearly that I have been in denial of my nicotine / vaping addiction.
Now I'm just about 5 days cold turkey. It's not a lot, but it's the longest break from nicotine I've had in at least half a decade. I'm just taking it one day at a time.
Anyways, it's a lot of words to say that I appreciate the content and also the courage for Cristina to share her story of quitting. Every one of these videos make a difference. Thank you!

And when I feel like I need to stop, I can’t. Until they come out with a vape that feels like vaping but it’s water or something yk, I feel like that would help more people..
