Hello listeners.
This little project has been over 4 months in the making and is an earth-shattering collaboration between myself, Maimy, Bibirobo and RayRay - each of us pouring a part of ourselves into this collective effort.
This song aims to take the original Invasion Mix and bring it up to snuff by injecting it with steroids. I hope it shows just how much I've improved over my time in the community.
Despite the heart the four of us have put into this I really do think that (it's a little ironic considering the situation) we need to move on from EXE stuff, the original mod has been done with for quite some time and it's getting so boring seeing the same stuff regurgitated again and again. If you couldn't tell, this will be my last EXE related song - it really is time to move on.

Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "Ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r.

Once X shows up the song just becomes a free-for-all and i think its awesome. The improvements from the first invasion mix to this is insane. I love the little dialog throughout and the instrumental is so good you could enjoy it by itself. Easily my favorite song from you.

This song is _far_ more amazing than words can express, the original Invasion Mix was already absolutely fantastic but this is somehow so much cleaner and more creative!! The amount your music skills have improved since then is absolutely *insane!!!*
It's easy to go overboard when adding new parts to a song, but you did not do that at all, every single single new part you added is very creative and works _incredibly_ well with the rest of the song!! The lyrics especially, they go INSANELY hard!
And this song is overall just *extremely* well-made, everything - from the guitars, to the drums, to the vocals of both kinds, to the chiptune parts - is just SO FREAKING CLEAN, and they all go together absolutely perfectly!! The art and visualizer are absolutely incredible too! I'm going to have this on loop for a _very_ long while!!

This was very fun and I *loved* a lot of the new back and forth!
It's so interesting to me that Exe is focused on *way* more in this version, making it seem less like they're on equal footing and more like Fatal Error is fighting tooth and nail to hold shit together lmao. Especially how in the original Exe doesn't even get a single spoken line, but in this version he has *double* the amount Fatal has, who's already been reduced slightly!
It's not necessarily a bad change at all, but structurally it was hard for me to tell that the tug of war was ever leaning in Fatal's favor. Up until the very end it felt to me like he was on the backfoot of the struggle (Left me a little surprised that their final note had already struck lol). I also think it has something to do with Fatal's use of higher notes and lesser vocal effects, juxtaposed with Exe's constant deep commanding tone, and abundance of motifs (Even at one point close to the ending *taking over* one of the few Fatal can call his own!)
(Addendum: Listening closer, I think the very first line might actually be sung in unison too? Much cooler now I've realized! But the limited sketches had me confused on first couple listens xP [Even the description seems to be confused? 🤔])
All in all this is so fun though, the lighting compliments the astonishing art wonderfully, and the beautiful intrumental? Holy shit! Blown away!
I'm glad the two versions of the song can coexist, since this is a great reimagining of that instant classic with some alterations made to taste! Great work to all! :D
