Are the best things in life free??
🟣 #YES - a walk outside, a hug from a friend or relative, a sunset or sunrise, a great view...there are so many things to do which do not involve any money at all. Being with family - as some of our fantastic children from St Mary's in Horsforth suggest - is one of the biggest things to many people!
🟣 #NO - if you want to go on holiday or take a trip somewhere, then you need money. To enjoy a concert, or to take part in some activities - you need a ticket.
🟣 Whatever your view, it is interesting to hear both sides of the debate. This is the key of Debate It! - how can you argue for a side that you do not believe in? This generates and trains the brain to become more empathetic and think about other people and their views.
🟣 Well rounded debaters will have the ability to foresee the arguments of the other side and prepare for them. Without empathy, you cannot do this and neither can you understand the perspective of the other side to create a win-win.
