They spit as much of their verses as they can and then stop and take a breath and then continue to perform for of their verses, and the editor basically cuts out all the times they stopped to make it one continuous verse. Random fact: when Dr dre first signed eminem, allegedly he felt punching in verses was kind if phoney and would try to spit his entire verse in one take despite dre telling him repeatedly that punching in is normal and necessary. Eminem eventually listened after realizing how impossible it was to do for an entire album.
