Bravo gentlemen. Looking forward to following this build. If you put half the detail I to this stone structure as the A-Frame (r.i.p) and the dugout, this will be epic.
Hello from America 🇺🇸 it's always a pleasure to see what you guys are making. We are red like a lobster and sunburn it's snowing there!?? I'm amazed and truly impressed with your building abilities looking forward to all your videos will be a friend and fan for all time coming 🤗❤
Good luck with the new build, lads. Still upset about your A frame. 😞 All the best in your new adventure. Be well and stay safe. 🙏 The doggo is brilliant. What a character. 😀
I don’t think they ever live in these builds, see past videos. I believe they build for the challenge and maybe in the same area, sure I’ve seen that moose before LOL. They are Russian and show incredible survival and craft skills plus very fit. Love the dog. Wonder what the next project will be, maybe a treehouse.
The majority of you need to take a damn mason class or two, you don't set rocks on the damn ground and start building you need to dig footers first then place the base stones in the ground to support the damn weight. Another don't do DON'T PUT LARGE ROCKS ABOVE YOUR DAMN HEAD WHEN THIS THING CRASHES IN ON YOU YOUR ARE GOING TO BE FOREST FERTILIZER.
I was thinking something like that, and I am not a mason, lol. In my mind, with that kind of stone to work with, the walls need to be wider, with small stones in the middle of 2 tows of larger stones, and kept stable with flat stones going across the wall, connecting both sides. I was also thinking that while the rocky slope is stable as is.. gathering a whole lot of weight, and concentrating it in one area, it might start the slope moving. Even if only moves a foot, that would be enough to send those walls down on someone.
You have taken on a huge undertaking with building this Stone House. My hats off to you. I do not think I would have the patience to do such a thing. But I have seen huts and houses made of dry stacked stone and they have lasted for hundreds of years. Where do you stay while you're working on the stone structure?
I live in Finland. Here you can find similar rock formations in many areas. They are called pirunpelto (literally devil's field in English). They were formed on ancient lake or sea shores as result of moving water.
Many such areas were formed when ice sheets and glaciers started to melt thousands of years ago. The rushing melt water would carry the stones along with it depositing them in heaps along the way.
I’m no geologist and may be completely wrong in this case but I’ve climbed a few mountains that were formed from major geologic activity such as continents colliding. Over millions of years the sediment washes away exposing the hardened lava/molten rock which in turn breaks down into essentially fields of boulders and rubble like you see here.
It should be said that this isn't a single night shelter. This is an enormous amount of calories burned, and the building itself is dangerous. This is the sort of thing that should only be done when you have VERY good reason and need. That doesn't make it any less awesome.
Fantastic , great , wonderfull , until you hit about age 55 and your legs begin to give out on you and you are no longer able to navigate that rock fall even in your wildest dreams. And yes , it will happen to you.
I often wonder that this was an exercise performed by the US to counter the British success within the Falklands Islands 1 year before. Lives were lost on both occasions. Lets not let it happen again.
Hello there. You can't lay stones on moss alone it will need wedges. Otherwise it would fall apart when the moss rots away. So it's not long term. I know about these things. I was a dry stone Waller for 40 years. I'm retired now. But I do like watching others.
@@dyer2cycle its a moose:) In norwegian, they are called "elg", so people can get a bit confused. And, I was talking about licking as it pertains to grooming , not selfpleasuring, which is why I mentioned cats:)

Did those boulders come about as a moraine left behind by a melting glacier? Just curious. Thanks.

Is there another video where ya'll put the roof on? Good build

Seems dangerous doing that at the bottom of a rock hazard
Top skills 👍
you are joking, right??
@@dennismorgan2303 yess 😁
Loved your video, and the area is beautiful , but what happened to the stove you installed after the fireplace disintegrated?
Wondering what kind of dog you got there. Looks fox-like.
You gotta clean off the snow. When it melts the stone will settle and possibly collapse. Moss ain't really a good idea. Pack it with stone instead.
Never understand how do you shave? Shower, ecc i enjoy your Utube Channel
Quase não tem pedra ai😂
What country are you in? It is beautiful.
Russia
Born in a stone house. All houses were traditionally built of stone. ( alps)
perfect avalanche chute! except for the fact it's close to the top of a ridge. it's not very high or exposed 🤔
alot of natural material..are you comfortable sharing close to the location or the state or country?
Nice work gentlemen. I'm curious what country this build is in?
I would not think that at the bottom of a Bolder Mountain would be a good Home spot....just sayin! Hazardous.
That's just what I was thinking...hahaha
I thought that from the very beginning.
It does look dangerous but, living in the Rockies, I’ve seen plenty of these scree style slopes, they are much more stable than they appear.
2 seconds in and that was my thoughts to.
Took one look at that nearby rock slide and went no way! Danger, danger, little ranger.
⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺👍👍
You were rocking it. But I must say you’d have to be stoned to take on a hard project like that.
if i lived anywhere close to this kind of landscape would have already built a secret stone round tower to live my elder scrolls dreams.

Now I’m wondering if all those rocks on the hillside was put there or is that natural?
Where's this taking place snowing 2 weeks ago?
I agree, here in the southwest desert a boulder field is primary rattlesnake habitat. Why would you live there unless you love snakes?
Fantastic , great , wonderfull , until you hit about age 55 and your legs begin to give out on you and you are no longer able to navigate that rock fall even in your wildest dreams. And yes , it will happen to you.
