@@johnerwin9024 He was also on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" in an episode where Rob uses his help to stop Buddy from playing practical jokes. One thing that I learned from watching it was this: Don't mess with Hank Kimball!
I've been watching consecutive episodes of the program (one of the most clever and humorous sitcoms of the '60s) and it's hard not too notice that Alvy Moore seems to be channelling the actor Jack Carson in anyone of his comedic roles. Every movement, every expression echos memories of Carson. If it was on purpose, Moore has it down to perfection. Interestingly, in the bio of producer Paul Henning, she mentions Jack and his wife were their very close friends. I wonder now if, in honor to his best friend, Henning didn't ask Moore to pattern his delivery on the late actor. Also of note, in "Petticoat Junction", another Henning show, Uncle Joe's last name is "Carson". I've been unable to verify my theory, but I seriously think I'm possibly on to something!😉
What a brilliantly screwball show this was. It has always been one of my favorites. I wonder how much of the Hank Kimball character was the writer’s idea and how much was the actor’s.
