I've been to Japan many years ago and the prices were relatively the same as here in UK. Its so cheap now comparing to what we pay for groceries !!!!
I wished that could be said the same in the United States. Where I live, in Ohio it’s triple or quadruple the price.

Mirin gives the cooking some sweetness but very light, it should be fine even you skip it. Or replace with some sugar 🎶

What a lot of plastic wraps in de store. So bad for nature
But please also know we are very strict with our rubbish, which we separate and throw according to different type including plastic for recycle ♻️
