I wish someone would do a modern, more serious remake of the Sid Miers pirates. There is an amazing amount of complexity going on under the hood of that game that is undercut by the cartoon aesthetics. It’s huge fun but definitely more on the Disney end of pirate adventure.
Totally agree with Assassin's Creed Black Flag as number one. It's the first AC game that caught my attention and played...AC fan ever since. This is still one of my absolute favorites.
I got it for free somewhere, but I couldn't even stand more than an hour playing it. AC games - I can literally feel my brain cells die while playing such. Sea Dogs 2 was my pick. although it was prettly clunky even then.
Tempest is underrated, been playing it for years and it’s such a casual experience. Monkey Island, however is so iconic, and yet no one I know even remembers it. I remember playing monkey island for the first time and it was epic. Sid Meier Pirates is also a great classic pirate adventure, but it would definitely benefit from a remake. AC Black Flag is an absolute gem of a game, but the tailing missions are hell on earth, and Sea of Thieves is in kind of a bad spot right now, but it’s still a pretty solid game. Love the list, it definitely brought back some core memories of mine. Thanks so much for that, in the stormy seas of my life right now. I needed this.
Carribean Legend is a remake of Sea Dogs, so would suggest people to try that. It has quite a few QoL features that make it way more new player friendly.
The Port Royale series is one of my favorite game series of all time, but it's sad that a list of pirate games in 2024 needs to include one of them from over a decade ago... and the same goes for Sea Dogs, it's nigh on a quarter of a century old and still among the best examples of its genre.
Since the modern pirate games scene is so barren and we are already stretching the definition with UAAOS i want to highlight small game that fancied my age of sail itch for a long time. It's called Sailwind and it's focused on realistic sailing and navigating your boat between different ports, moving boxes and trading goods. No combat whatsoever, but it's not like you have time for it while adjusting 10 sails of the upgraded brig.
none of those gamse are at the level of ATLAS game who sadly died before getting released from beta because of ARK, it gave us an incredible adrenaline and pirate experience when you have 20 person on board of a gallion... firing, fixing planks...
Black Flag and Sid Meires Pirates are the best for me. I haven't played Sid Meires but I have to say from what I have seen it's pretty and I really wish I could play it on my ps4. I really wish a pirate game, based on the combination of these two comes out one day.
Sea of Thieves, by far, is one of the best games of the last 10 years. It makes ever other game in this list look like a bad 80's click to win adventure game. And it's funny that most of its critical reviews complained about that fact, it didn't have predefined "rail like" story line to follow. Yeah.....that's the point....and why its such a fantastic video game and not a fantastic film broken up by mouse clicks.
Does anyone know what's the name of this top down 3d pirate game where you are a crew of shipwrecked pirates and it's a roguelike/roguelite game where you select specific units to go into dungeons where they fight bosses to gain or lose traits and skills and equipment? And there's missions where an specific crew member might have beef with a specific boss, which might give them a bonus if they're able to beat it. Your units can die forever I think. I just can't remember the name, only a vague image and description. It LOOKS LIKE Lost Sea, but it's not it, but it's very close to Lost Sea!
Use to play a lot of Pirates of the Burning Sea back in the day and even tried to update it today but couldn't do it due to some kind of nvidia physx update I couldn't find. I'm really looking forward to finding something similar to that that I can play on my recent purchase of a Samsung Galaxy tab S8 ultra.
AC is so damn repetitive and...Assassin's Creed-y. Sid Meier's is repetitive too, I suppose, but there seems to be more freedom. Plus the nostalgia factor. I'd just as soon see a modern reboot of that than GTA6. Yeah, I said it. I'll try some of the others on this list.
Guys I love your channel and reviews.... but for the love of all that is holy stop using the term 'immersive' every other sentence. Immersive is not a bloody synonym for 'good' or 'engaging'!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! /rant
@LTGamingRUclips yeah didn't notice that until a little after thank you for the video I did learn some new games to play until I can afford skull and bones

Agreed I feel it is ripe for a remake! A bit more grit etc - Tom
💯
Yes. Literally the game of my childhood, and I still play it from time to time, but it would definitely benefit from a remake.
I spent many hours with Sid Meier's Pirates. So much fun.
Great game
Tortuga on the Xbox one (possibly others) is similar except the ship battles are turn based but the rest is pretty much the same

Yes it is an epic game no doubt about it.
i cry in the ending every time i miss my friends 😢
@@sunnyjim1355you can’t play 1 hour and judge the entire game lmao the new ac games haven’t been great except origins but you’re waffling here

I like how you used the music from Sid Meier's Pirates in the background:) Took me right back!
Some of the best 🎶

Great job as usual! As for Sea Dogs: Caribbean Tales from 2006, it's available on GOG. Cheers!
This is exactly what it feels like to play sea of thieves vs Sid Myers Pirates
Avast! Pleased to hear that some of these are 'on sail' 😂
Brilliant 😂
Tropico 2: Pirate Cove x18
Tropico is a blast to play.

Oo arr good games cheers.

You should check out Republic of Pirates.☠
I'd seriously want a game just like World of Warships but with pirates. Unsure why it hasn't been done already.
Hope a dev reads this... :D
Legend of pirates online

@@LTGamingRUclips I don't see it on GOG. But I did get it from an Abandon Ware site in the last year.
Cuttroats was a pirate game I put 100's of hours into too but it was a buggy mess
Great shout!

all pirates. welcome to high sea. but there is no ship worth to pirate nowadays.

AC4 was so damn epic
Not listing what platforms these games are on is kind of a miss dude
A miss is you even asking this question.
you have forgotten uncharted waters
Blazing sails? no?

(to coin the phrase: "You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means")
hahaha I know Tom did this video but I use the immersive word in many videos :P I just like to be immersed in my games!
Nice left field immersive stack of games … well done me heartys 🐸🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️💪🐌🍷💤
I agree with the list especially number 1 except sea dogs is one of the worst games ever and I usually like Eurojank
Thanks man! I really enjoyed Sea Dogs 2 😂 😅 but I was young...
honestly you did nothing for skull and bones
@@Outlawz_Nation this was made before that came out.
@LTGamingRUclips yeah didn't notice that until a little after thank you for the video I did learn some new games to play until I can afford skull and bones
why don't you put if game is online or offline bro wtf
