There is one country on this planet whose population largely believes it is the best, most beautiful, most livable country: North Korea. Only there is there no freedom of travel, no free media, no internet. It is essentially a closed "island." In the US, one has to make a real effort to ignore the fact that there are many countries that are significantly more developed in crucial areas. Culture, the state of democracy, healthcare systems, environmental progress, education, and wealth distribution are just a few examples. Many internationally recognized scientific studies confirm this. Only when you acknowledge something can you improve it. We can learn from much smaller countries as well; we don't have to reinvent the wheel.

The real answer is that American culture was colonialism and imperialism from the start, from the first ship that landed until now, it was always about controlling land and resources, and nothing else mattered.
All Culture in America is based around this; this is why sports events are celebrated by jets flying over, this is why the Pledge of Allegiance is in schools, why guns are celebrated, etc.
This is why the joke is that America developed no culture, because American culture was stifled by the Nationalism that was only there to defend the resource-gathering desires, which turned mostly into "wanting money"" and, for a few years, this calmed the U.S.
Yoghurt develops culture. The U.S invades the Yoghurt and steals it.

      The Foundation of Morocco:
As an Islamic State: Most historians trace the first unified Moroccan state to the Idrisid Dynasty, founded by Idris I in 788-789 CE.
As an Ancient Kingdom: If you look back to the ancient Kingdom of Mauretania (which covered parts of modern Morocco), it began around the 3rd century BCE.

@rouma910that's not a lie but a twister true, Morocco has dynasties what try to make a country for 1200 years, but they didn't get "success" until 1956, the actual Morocco border is not what that does dynasties was looking for, none of them was very sure about what was the actual iure land, and when they toke by force the actual border of Morocco, they put "Morocco" as a name when a big chunk wasn't nothing for does dynasties, like orient Sahara. So I have a coronario froom a virreinato of México.

Germany's healthcare system isn't tax funded, while some European systems are like the UK.
Keep in mind Germany also had universal healthcare when we had the 4th largest military in the world during the height of the Cold War.
Americans obsessing over using tax money to fix problems created by shitty legislation and lax law enforcement is the reason they can't have nice things, except a big huge military, which they blame us for.
Like we put a gun to their head and told them to throw a trillion dollars at the pentagon, yeah right.
The US states could easily run a non-tax funded healthcare system if they were willing to impose rules and regulations on insurance firms to actually provide FUCKING HEALTHCARE COVERAGE for the money they take in, instead of being allowed to be quasi monopolies.
Who the fuck EVER heard of a doctor not being able to "take your insurance" because "they are not in network."
Bitch what network. MY insurance works across the country, in every doctor or hospital. That's pretty "universal" too. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's now accepted across the EU, my insurance firm just gets billed by some Spanish doctor or hospital instead of a german one, they don't care who writes the damn bill, they get money from me and my employer every month to shut up and pay my medical expenses.
It could be so fuckin easy, couldn't it?

It's worse than that - they loosened the gun restrictions instead! The only kind of gun the average citizen can't get legally in the USA is one with a fully automatic mode. Even assault rifles are legal as long as they are limited to semi-automatic. What other restrictions are there? Those are usually based around the country of origin rather than the gun type.

      @jameslewis2635
An "assault rifle" is per definition, NOT semi automatic only.
And the restrictions are usually based on caliber, projectile type and general destructive potential, not country of origin.
You clearly know very little about US gun policies.
Now, I already knew that, but since I want you to have a reliable way of fact checking, so here`s 5 seconds on Google:
U.S. gun regulations, primarily governed by the National Firearms Act (NFA) and the Gun Control Act (GCA), focus on restricting specific types of firearms based on characteristics like automatic fire, barrel length, and destructive potential (e.g., bombs, grenades, certain rifles/shotguns). These laws often target specific weapon configurations, such as machine guns or short-barreled rifles, rather than solely their origin.
Key Aspects of U.S. Gun Restrictions:
Destructive Devices & NFA Items: The NFA heavily restricts "destructive devices" (such as bombs, grenades, or rockets) and other items like silencers, short-barreled rifles/shotguns, and machine guns.
Weapon Type & Caliber: Restrictions are often based on the functionality of the firearm, such as fully automatic capabilities or specific caliber restrictions like .50-caliber ammunition.
Prohibited Persons: GCA prohibits certain individuals, including convicted felons, from possessing firearms.
Import Restrictions: While focusing on technical characteristics, some import restrictions (under the GCA) can be influenced by international agreements or the "sporting purpose" test, which may indirectly impact items based on foreign manufacture.

@oidaGrantla That checks out with the image of only Americans being that dumb, but unfortunately you are wrong. To date 4 children have died from choking on Kinder eggs with 140 reported injuries as of 2024. Considering they have been in production since 1974 with more than 30 billion of them sold by 2016 I would say that the chance of mishap is extremely low statistically on a per unit basis. I can only fathom the actual injuries and fatalities being due to parental neglect and extreme misuse.

After that you get 65 or 67 % of your usual income until the first birthday or you can split that amount and get paid until the second birthday. But you can get 3 years of parental leave in total while your job is protected. The third year isn't paid in any scenario and you can take this year up until the year when your kid starts school (I think including the first school year).

"Anton" is probably the most famous, although technically he's a wallaby, so related to a kangaroo, but not actually a kangaroo.
One of the others is known as "Nanni", and is on the loose in the Gamiltz area.

I once talked with some people in China about ancestors. I mentioned that I knew a bit about my family going back four generations - not much, but some cool facts. Then, one girl told me her surname is "Forest" because of an ancestor from 1,500 years ago. Apparently, he was killed by the Emperor for some reason (I don't remember exactly, but there are actual historical writings about him). His children fled into the forest to hide and took "Forest" as their name. I was blown away by the fact that she knows her ancestors from so long ago. It’s unbelievable!
And then Americans think they have a rich history.

I am from Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. Years ago some of my friends in the motorbike club worked in the General Post Office in Dublin city centre. At the time there was a statue of a warrior from ancient Celtic folklore in the centre of the floor. It depicted the warrior as he was dying after his last battle. He had tied himself to a rock so that he would die on his feet. There was a raven perched on his shoulder. American tourists would often ask what the statue was about. The staff in the Post Office would tell the Americans that the man was the founder of the Irish postal service. He would run around the whole country delivering the post, and when he was finished he would tie himself to the rock so that he wouldn't fall over. And as for the raven, they would say that he had also invented Air Mail. If there was a letter for a house up the mountains, he would put it in the raven's beak and the raven would fly up and deliver it.

He has a lot of extra bonuses, for example 100$ extra for not taking paid off in a month. He also has paid sick leaves like one time he had to stay at home for a month and received 80% of his paycheck (it was an average wage of 4000 zł after all taxes and insurance - around 1000$) and he didn't showed at work for the entire month + he had free doctors apointments all that time. He also has 20 days of paid vacation and got promoted recently. From smaller benefits he has a day in a week when he can get as much free fruits as he wants, free coffee, sometimes free lunch and the company is giving him his money back for tickets and gas when he had to go on 50km road trip.
