Josaphat Febrian I don’t think the binary is entirely accurate. Peter Cullen was a great chill Prime in the 80s. Probably the most humor he’s ever had. Chalk has absolutely had some incredible serious moments, not just in this series, but Armada and Beast Wars too.
Yet the eng dub still try to make everything feel science fiction even tho this show was clearly made with supernatural and over the top elements fitting for that of Super Robot genre
The 3D animation style used here looks solid, way better than most new series that uses 3d style. Also, let it sink in that this was released in *2005*

CHOUJIN GATTAI! GOD JINRAI!!! There's no question someone in Takara REALLY wanted to make a new modernized God Jinrai. Out of all Optimus super modes since Powermaster which is kind of every Optimus until after Prime now that I think about it, this one is the closest to Jinrai's gimmick and end result. Powermaster Optimus created the super mode idea for the guy, but God Jinrai perfected it, and this one condenses and refines it (since the trailer and God Bomber components are basically one piece, so Optimus skips Super Jinrai and goes straight to God Jinrai)
Out of all the Super Modes in the Unicron trilogy, this was always the best one and the best looking one. Doesn't look clunky like Armada or like a Voltron ripoff in Energon.
As far as supermodes go? There's a whole lotta them. The most recognizable is Powermaster Optimus Prime, then the Armada one. And then comes Cybertron. Energon is a pretty mid one, IMO. he's just got a beer belly and undersized zords.

I always loved these transformation sequences. Yeah, you could say they're just shoving the toys in your face. But it always made them transforming seem so epic to me.
Not to mention, if you're like me and got a couple of these as gifts from friends who didn't want em anymore (WHY WOULDN'T YOU!!!?!) and didn't have the directions, you could just watch how they transform in the show and just KNOW how to do it, forward and backward! My Optimus Prime was a gift and the directions didn't come with him but all I had to do was see this and Know.
I honestly think its also that they dont have to animate anything. Its a free 30 seconds they can use for every transformation, when ever they want. I dont like it, but its clever.
im kinda confused...did this eventually turn into transformers armada with the minicons? just re watched this one and the first episode has minicons and i got confused for a second so...whats the difference between this story and the one with armada again? im confused...
Chronologically it is Armada>Energon>Cybertron (This show) They explain the "disconnect" between Cybertron and the other 2 as due to events that happen at the end of Energon that altered reality
I watched for the long black haired anime girl I got tired of the transformation scenes quick....2/3 of the episode was cliche high school fight talk and transformation scenes. Magical girl transformation scenes really really got old......

Garry Chalk was a great voice for Optimus Prime Peter Cullen will still always be the best but some voice for Optimus still do him justice.
