HUGE THANKS DUDE!!!!! Seriously, I've got a max10sct esc that has 1 wire ripped out and its on my Mud Monster Trx4 Sport... SURELY GLAD I dont have to buy a new esc.
Thank you very much this explains why my esC turns on automatically and I can't set any of the settings thanks for taking the time to make this video. Give this video a thumbs up so people can see this and learn how to fix your truck.
I have Hobbywing Quicrun WP-CRAWLER-BRUSHED (80A esc) with the same looking switch. Not sure if this applies to every other ESC. So I spent a bit of time and I think I figured out how it works. Going in order from Black to Red: Black - Ground (Battery -) White - Set Red1 - Power Red2 - Power (Battery +) Black and Red2 seem to have no resistance to battery lead (Possibly directly connectted to input) ESC is powered ON when Red1 is same voltage as Red2 (ie. Short Red1 and Red2, as per the video) To go into calibration mode is a bit tricky, as White needs to be the same voltage as Red 2, the same way you would press Set button. White acts similar to a momentary switch short. ie. To enter calibration mode, you need to first short White and Red1, before shorting them both to Red2 to drive both lines high at the same time (similar to pressing set and power at same time) Then you need to quickly remove White from the short within 3 seconds, and short white as you would press Set button as per user manual. Best way I found was to put one end of alligator lead on Red1, Red2 and tap other end on White. To simulate holding down both Set and Power to get into calibration mode, easiest way I found was to connect the Battery with White, Red1, Red2 shorted, then removed White when it beeps. You will need to have receiver powered on and in neutral before this, otherwise ESC wont receive servo signal and will throw and error beep code. As always, I am not responsible for fried ESCs! Goodluck! TLDR; Black/Red2 seem to be Batt-/Batt+ respectively. White is Set button, and driven to Batt+ voltage when pressed (and Red1 is Batt+ voltage). Red1 is driven to Batt+ voltage when ESC is powered.
My esc wont power on. Max10. I got a replacement from hobbywing. Now i just have that one laying around. Im gonna try this, maybe this could just be the issue.
Thank you truth! My new one got wet, started randomly cutting out. Then on the bench, it was stuck on. Used an air gun and now it works, but for how long?🤣👊👍🙏
I have the max 5, yesterday the esc just quit working. I can turn it on and off with the switch and I have steering, but no throttle. The led flashes green 4 times. I'm going to try a reset, that may or may not solved the problem. If it doesn't, I saw a video where the guy turns on the esc, pulls one of the motor wires off, did something else ( I'll have to find the video again ) and it corrected his problem that I have at the moment. If not, then off to hobbywing for repair or replacement if it's still under warranty.
Just Want Make sure I understand what your Saying, I Cut off the power switch, then connect the black & white wire together & then connect the red to red together?
@@truthrc357 ok awesome thanks man!👍😊👍 I don't understand why the power switch went bad, i just got it about 2weeks ago For my karton, onece i plug in the battery it comes on automatically & this ESC Is a max6, Now I also have another max6 for my Xmaxx which I had it for about 3-4 years Now & Haven't Had any problems to it.. What if you have 5 wires I have black , yellow, white , and 2 red wires my motor cut out and I’m wondering if it’s my switch thanks again and keep the great videos coming
How do I know if my power switch is the problem I have a Max 10 when I hit the power switch motor fan come on and ECS fan come on but there are no startup tones and no LEDs solid or flashing on the ESC however there's a little red light in the power switch that turns on and stays on could you possibly point me in the right direction do I need to replace the switch or is my ESC burn. I am about ready to replace the ESC
Sounds like the motherboard on the esc is gone brother,I've had that happen on the max 10 ,sorry my brother but it's Time replace it ,im sure you had some great runs with it 😉 but never give up on hobbywing I honestly feel they are 20 x better then castle .

Hi mate can you just connect the black and white? I done that now it turns on and runs fine can I just leave the other two wires snipped not connected to anything? Seems to be working lol and nothings reset I don’t think
As you plug your battery in hold the trigger on the remote to the full throttle position the light should beep then let go ,on the first single light pull the trigger again then it should beep twice then go to the neutral position then full reverse, after that release and it should set itself and calibrate after the fact.hope this helped.
Thank you for this video! Saved me either buying an expensive new switch or an even more expensive replacement ESC!
No worries glad I could help 🙏

If the switch has 4 wire's it should work bud 🥂

It works for hobbywing and the spectrum firma esc,I have never seen a 5 wire my brother so I wouldn't suggest trying this on a 5 wire.
Nice mod brother. Nice job.
Thank you brother 🙏
My esc is having 3 wires.
2 red 1 white. =On off,. Set switch
How does it work
My switch only had 2 wires, red and black? how?
Does the esc immediately power on?😊
After the wires are bound yes👌
Can you still calibrate the esc
You would have to use a program card bud and set your your remote parameters on steering to zero and throttle the same .
Thanks bro
Your welcome bro👊
