I bought one of these I Impels 2 months ago. I also have a Pure Air 3. I have a pair of push and glide Micro-Scooters too. I’ve been using scooters for 20 years. I like the Pure Air 3 too. But also I like the impel, which I bought aa the small 8.5inch wheels are more agile in a city. I’m out in the country mostly. But can make it to the city on the cycle paths and parks after 2 miles. I find both the Impel and the Pure great. I weight 75kg. When the bills are beyond 10% . Being fit enough even at 66. I can walk a hill at 3-4 mph. So the Scooter just tows me up the hill nicely. Both scooters can do this. The impel can do the pedestrian mode in cruise mode. I keep the impel clean after each ride. I don’t push it with the water and puddles. To make it easier on the rear light. I carry it under my arm, rather than out pressure on the plastic mudguard. I’m extra careful when charging. I keep it near me till it goes green on the charger. I always keep it about 80%. And starting full on a long ride. I get about 10-12 mikes and a bit more. I never ran out of battery yet. But since I can ride a push scooter for up to 10miles. I’d have no trouble pushing these scooters for a mile or so. I’ve done it. I have not had any issues from either yet where I had any faults or needed parts. So it’s early to say. They ride well on the road. I bought both at special offer. The Impel in Halfords in Ireland. And the PURE in Curry’s. The Pure just needed the bolt adjustment taken in a bit.l at the head st the latch. Nothing needed up front on the impel. I just avoid all the bumps and ruts in the road and any rough stuff that would hammer the wheels and bearings.
I've just fixed one of these and I have 6 modern scooters and 4 razors 2 E100s and a E300 plus a E300S seated folder with wide wheels and the Carrera impel had collapsed front wheel bearings something that I have not seen on a E, scooter before. This aesthetically looks like a good well made scooter but as you went through your review trying to outdo the other popular scooter brands by pointing out what you think other scooters lack that this has only made it clear to me that this really is a cheap out dated impersonator of a good modern Escooter. Yes it has a pin code locking system and a combination lock but all the others you tried to slate have genuine kill switch controls and parameters for changing kmh to mph. Control lights and BMS system control. Abs controls for the brakes and regen. Distance traveled and left to go. Speed control and adjustments in the Bluetooth settings for the other scooter brand and other scooter apps. So basically the Carrera Impel is a poor quality built Razor E300 but with a lithium battery and hubmotor. And yes I definitely mean poor quality version of a Razor E300 because Razor have been working on Electric Scooters for years and I have been with them for 20 of them wondering why they are not getting the backing and waiting and hoping that they will take off like they have done, getting better in leaps and bounds more in the last 5 years than all the time Razor has been building them. The E300 is still the best value starting block for custom built scooters just by adding 36v lithium batteries, then to get more adding a 36v upward to 60v controller and motors on the body or duel hub motors and keyed throttle, buying a used one would half the price of this Carrera impel ( to force into motion, exactly what the dictionary definition of impel is) and it might look chunky and solid but when you pick it up it doesn't feel like anything is solid. Plus it had two flat tires one valve missing and with low profile tires on squeezed in valves why, if you are going to use air filled tires make them big so they give more suspension, bounce and a smoother ride on and off road. If you can find a Razor E300S the foldable one that has bigger wheels and tires buy it and build your own far better than this Escooter. Sorry but if you rate this you have not had much experience in scooters
