The problem that we are having as Christians is that we are too busy doing things like Martha but are not spending time with Christ hearing his Word and allowing Him to change us. We have no power. The power and restraints and livability comes through your relationship with Christ. We must make it our business to sit and get to know Him. That is more important! “Abide in me and my words will abide in you.”
There are two types of prayer warriors. The Mary warrior- The Christian who prays at the altar on her knees &.. The Martha Warrior - the Christian who prays while tending to the house of the Lord. Both are servants of Christ. Jesus never rebuked Martha, when Lazarus was dead , It was Martha who got in the face of Jesus regarding Lazarus & he never rebuked her or became angry with her, he admired the Faith that caused her to chase after him because she knew that only Jesus could raise Lazarus from the dead. Martha was my girl.
It might be...but rest assured. The behavior that Mr. Haddon is referring to.. has been going on for a mighty long time. I came into the Gospel Era right at the end of the Golden Era. Enjoy listening to some family members like LC and Sam Cooke singing gospel. Even though I grew up singing in a mass choir ( 500 voices ), I still yearned for the quartet life.. I ended up cutting my teeth with the Soul Stirrers. And to say the least.. it was truly eye-opening. Not all groups and not all group members were living a lie..but there was an unspoken code. Many people knew what people were doing but for fear of retribution or being black balled completely out of the Gospel Industry, you had eyes that wouldn't see and ears that wouldn't hear. The better that you were at keeping secrets.. the more comfortable the movers and shakers in the industry would become with you.. And then the day would come when they desired to have secrets on you as well. So it's very similar to the secular industry 🤔

But if you read Romans 6 and James 2, you would know our works per se are a reflection of our faith. So you can not be lukewarm and say you really for God. I think the black church itself needs revival. I feel like the black church specifically has become more of a social club, and since a lot of these gospel artists are elevated through these churches, this is why they are spiritually immature. We have to pray for our churches to be biblically and spiritually sound 🙏🏽❤️
It’s the same in non-black churches as well…the church in general is in need of revival. The focus is more on trying to emulate the world instead of being set apart. Some are more concerned with hanging out at the cafe/coffee shops at the church than they are with hearing the word. And these are just the surface issues.
There is no such thing as a "black church", and there is no such thing a white church either. It's a church for everyone and is welcome to attend! God DID NOT segregate His churches according to race, creed or color. Regardless of denomination and religion, there is only One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism.

The issue with the Christian music industry is that it is not primarily seen as a ministry but it is approached as a business much like its secular counterpart. In ministry (especially when it involves communicating the Gospel and Christian doctrines, which songs do), qualifications include the display of the fruit of the Spirit, knowledge of the Word, and the ability to teach it soundly. Because of its impact, 1 Tim 3 should apply to Christian musicians. Instead, skills, marketability, and appearance are the main requirements in this travesty.
It's because the secular counterpart owns the gospel record labels... ...and radio... ...and social media platforms! They have the recording artists (for a large part) believing that they can't make it without conforming to ungodly standards!
My heart was grieved as well. Not only for those who are living that life, but also those who are impacted by their music. My heart cries for the body of Christ.

This type of ungodly behavior has been going on for years. It's not that they're merely human. The problem is they're not sanctified! One thing is for sure & that is we dont have the ability to truly know someone's motive or heart. But God does. We dont know if someone in private is commiting adultery or falling to their knees begging for forgiveness. But God knows. And He's got this. And since we all are sinners, let's worry about our own salvation. But if you feel someone is slipping, reach out to them and/or pray for them. Anything else could be considered gossip.

The Bible does not say that the righteous will “barely” make it. If you are truly living a holy life and have a true intimate relationship with God. And allowing Him to consecrate you! The sad thing is that a lot of them are preachers and it has hindered the world. Everybody now has a podcast, a this and a that. He was completely accurate! I'm a makeup artist, and the things I have seen highly disappointed me, but it also made me realize that I needed to improve my relationship with God. I don't do fake and I want to go to heaven for real! I'll keep praying for them because like he said they are just people. We need to not put people on pedestals and things will change!
The worse part is in the context that people who believe in God are aware of what they do yet they still do it, that's worse than those who do wrong without the awareness of the fact they doing wrong
The one thing I can surmise from a lot of the nonsensical conversations in what church people call Christianity today is (1) that folks really don't have a sense or fear of the time of God's return and (2) a lack of fear for of people who call themselves Christian facing eternal judgement. It had a stronger standard during the days of artists like Commissioned, Take 6 and Smokie Norful. The standards were lowered when certain individuals took over the industry to glorify themselves instead of Jesus.
I wonder whether part of the problem is that many of these Gospel artists are on the road often and out of their local churches for long periods? Therefore not being held accountable spiritually for their walk with God and their lifestyles?
The truth is the truth. We don’t go home with these ppl. They tried to downplay. All have sinned and come short of his glory. These artist are no different.
Is there no fear of Gods wrath wether it be pastors or praisers. We as a culture of people reverence God in our lives and forget about the after life of death and Hell

It is heartbreaking to hear him call “worship” or the gospel industry a “cult” knowing the significance of worship in the Bible and deliverance. But there shouldn’t be a “code” for accepting open sin. Making the Lords throne a joke may be what it is to some people, and an inconsequential paycheck but make no mistake, God will not be mocked. His mercy runs out. It’s time for a revival in this industry. You can’t have true worship from an unrepentant heart, because the anointing of the Holy Spirit is missing but the anointing of the enemy is ever present and “pride comes before a great fall.” People’s lives are in the balance in ALL ministry and God won’t overlook it.

The issue with the Christian music industry is that it is not primarily seen as a ministry but it is approached as a business much like its secular counterpart. In ministry (especially when it involves communicating the Gospel and Christian doctrines, which songs do), qualifications include the display of the fruit of the Spirit, knowledge of the Word, and the ability to teach it soundly. Because of its impact, 1 Tim 3 should apply to Christian musicians. Instead, skills, marketability, and appearance are the main requirements in this travesty.

This is the reason Titus 1:16 declares that they profess with their mouths to know God but by their lifestyle and actions deny him and tell and portray a different story.

And since we all are sinners, let's worry about our own salvation. But if you feel someone is slipping, reach out to them and/or pray for them. Anything else could be considered gossip.

The Bible does not say that the righteous will “barely” make it. If you are truly living a holy life and have a true intimate relationship with God. And allowing Him to consecrate you! You will not barely make it to heaven. Yes there will be some that barely make it but that’s not truly for every believer.
We have a code. So does the world. But the church code is different because the bible says stay away from the very appearance of evil. Yet there needs to be some accountability going on. That should be the code. Prayers Up!

Thank you! Your life has to match what you are saying. A lot of gospel artist now display themselves as being worldly, sin and go on like it's nothing. The sad thing is that a lot of them are preachers and it has hindered the world. Everybody now has a podcast, a this and a that. He was completely accurate! I'm a makeup artist, and the things I have seen highly disappointed me, but it also made me realize that I needed to improve my relationship with God. I don't do fake and I want to go to heaven for real! I'll keep praying for them because like he said they are just people. We need to not put people on pedestals and things will change!

The one thing I can surmise from a lot of the nonsensical conversations in what church people call Christianity today is (1) that folks really don't have a sense or fear of the time of God's return and (2) a lack of fear for of people who call themselves Christian facing eternal judgement. And if that artist, music group, etc. does NOT meet that standard and/or requirement -- he, she, IT, or THEY, should NOT be able or ALLOWED to "use" the title or be included in or a part of the "Gospel Music Industry". And if all else fails, renounce and denounce -- ANYONE claiming to be a gospel artist, who truly is NOT a gospel artist by disassociating with them, NOT supporting their music, and EXPOSING them for the "imposters" -- THEY ARE...
It had a stronger standard during the days of artists like Commissioned, Take 6 and Smokie Norful. The standards were lowered when certain individuals took over the industry to glorify themselves instead of Jesus.

The “gospel industry” is a business. They’re in it for the money. They have not been Born-Again, therefore, they do not bear the fruit of Holiness.
It is heartbreaking to hear him call “worship” or the gospel industry a “cult” knowing the significance of worship in the Bible and deliverance. But there shouldn’t be a “code” for accepting open sin. Making the Lords throne a joke may be what it is to some people, and an inconsequential paycheck but make no mistake, God will not be mocked. His mercy runs out. It’s time for a revival in this industry. You can’t have true worship from an unrepentant heart, because the anointing of the Holy Spirit is missing but the anointing of the enemy is ever present and “pride comes before a great fall.” People’s lives are in the balance in ALL ministry and God won’t overlook it.
