Jinx is alive. In the most expensive animated show of all time you don't spend the money on Caitlyn examining the blueprints of the Hexgates, focusing on the air ducts while holding a piece of Jinx's bomb, for no reason.
Also the purple jinx streak you can see right before the explosion goes off. I think Warwick threw her to safety after seeing the monkey. Then the airship doing the jinx scratchy glitch when her first line in the show was “one day, I’m gonna ride in one of those”.
I agree with this! I have a feeling, with how popular the sisters+Caitlyn’s story is, we will one day see their story continue again either in a comic or hopefully movie/short series.
If you think about why Caitlin is looking through the blueprints then one can easily realize that she probably went to the sight of jinx's death and using her analytical skills she probably realized jinx survived hence why she looked at the plans to get answers. If Caitlin could only find a monkey head at the scene but no body then jinx is probably still kicking
There are quite a few hints towards the end that Jinx is alive - and that she took the opportunity to do what "Silco" talked about.. walking away. One.. the shimmery reddish flash heading away from the explosion - two, Caitlyn examining the ventilation system of the area that Jinx "died" in.. they found the bomb fragments, but not any bodily remains apparently... and finally: in the very first episode Powder said that one day she'd fly in one of those blimp ships.. and a blimp heading away for parts unknown just happens to be the very last shot of the series. Hopefully we'll have that theory validated one day.
As the airship is flying away, at the end, the music in the background is an orchestral version of "Dear Friend Across the River," which has pretty much functioned as Powder's theme throughout the series.
What I find funny and interesting is that Mel didn't put a shield around Caitlyn; she encased Maddie inside it so the bullet would keep ricocheting until it hit her.

It makes every choice of hers so much more sinister in retrospect. She's the first, maybe only, member of the strike team to start chest thumping. Maddie was also the one Enforcer that convinced Vi to join Cait's squad in the first place. Probably knowing that Caitlyn would probably feel more "comfortable" knowing that Vi would be at her side.
The six-eyed raven at the end is Beatrice, the demon raven familiar of Swain, the Grand General of Noxus. His ravens are always watching… And Orianna is here! And confirmed to be Singed’s daughter! And she looks gorgeous!🥰 But man, what a great series from start to finish!🥹❤️ I know the developers said they were interested in making more series set in different regions, hopefully we get to see the next one in set in Demacia with Garen and Lux against Noxus!

And there is a pink flash that darts away from the explosion. She’s out there. And she’s free as a blue bird in the wind, for the first time.
I think people are underestimating the ruthless guile of Ambessa. Maddie likely joined the Enforcers the very first day Ambessa arrived with her primary goal to infiltrate the leadership. Like any good general Ambessa knows to always stay one step ahead.
I genuinely didn’t put any stock into Maddie being a traitor, but whelp. Guess I’m just too trusting. The fact that Sevika, the one who has been trying to rally the Undercity this whole time and whose loyalty is only to Zaun, is the rep for Zaun on the council feels so good man. I think that’s amazing. The fact that Zaun now even has rep is also amazing. Even though it’s clear everything isn’t solved with that. “That’s the drawback of you long range types.” Frickin Smeech of all people with the eye loss foreshadow. Cait taking a page out of VI’s book by being injured, throwing the first punch, and then having an “oh shit” moment when she realizes she’s punching above her weight made me cackle. Her and Mel tag teaming Ambessa was crazy though. Jinx is so alive, and Cait frickin knows. I think Jinx also bailed just so Vi wouldn’t feel guilty about moving on because knew as long as Vi thought she was out there Vi would always put her first.
Did you guys catch during the scene of Caitlyn's execution, that there is a frame of Maddie smiling while shooting the bullet? I didn't catch it the first time, but then I saw it in a youtube video and went back to check, it's really there. Fortiche are going crazy with the hidden frames, these artists are on a whole other level.

So... that scene with Caitlyn looking at the computer/slide machine in her family home & with her looking over a piece of Jinx's grenade... I think it's a moment of Caitlyn doubting if Jinx is actually dead, and honestly I think that's the writers leaving it just a tiny bit open to the possibility of her coming back.
I think at the end of the episode 9 there should be a warning in the middle of the final black screen saying: "for your sanity, watch episode 7 again right now".
They still ended it off as brothers which I don't ship them but I find it pointless to put Jayce in a relationship with Mel if you don't do shit with it in the end
There's a frame for a split of a second where maddie shots at cait and mel uses her empath magic where maddie has a sinister smile as she shoots. It's the little moments that make this show top tier
Nice seeing someone that isn't getting hung up on the fact an incredible show like Arcane dared to make some changes to the half-baked lore of a moba thats already retconned its story twice before this. I do wish there'd been a couple more episodes this season, or even a fourth act, but on the whole I thought it was remarkable and the ending was perfect.

There's a lot of theory already circulating. Jinx is maybe alive. Heimerdinger is probably alive. Wouldn't be surprised if Jayce and Viktor probably come back since they just disappeared into the arcane. They left a lot of open ended possibility. Wouldn't be surprised if they were all dead though. But the creators already said that they wanted to make more stories, so would not be surprised if they all come back

As much as I love them, I hope Jayce and Viktor never appear again. That was such a beautiful sendoff, just leave it at that. I feel like dragging them back would cheapen their sacrifice, not to mention that they were finally opening up to one another and I doubt they would keep it up if they weren't confronted with the end of the world.

She faked her death to start over. She didn't die.
Riot/Fortiche wanted to have it both ways with the ending. The story ends with Jinx sacrificing herself, but the franchise will bring Jinx back in a future series as a shocking reveal POV character. I think this makes a lot of sense since Jinx popping up in other regions (bothering Lux in Demacia for example) happens more often than you'd think in the tertiary runeterra content and is pretty Jinx coded.
I was so blindsided by the Maddie reveal. As a woman respecter i thought "now hang on a sec, let's not demonize this girl for things outside of her control why do ppl hate her-" and then this..... idont get it. was she a spy the whole time??!??
For me, she was sus since she appeared out of nowhere. The way she talked to Vi, I felt she was a two-faced b, but my guess was she was a Black Rose spy later on when she tried to talk Cait out of the war. Maybe she switched sides out of jealousy, but her line sounded like Cait was a job for her all along.

That line just stuck with me and I really felt like Maddie was a plant from Ambessa.

I've now seen a lot of fan theories surrounding Jinx's sacrifice and I'd like to counter a few of the more common ones with a different point of view: - Concerning the supposed "shimmer trail" being Jinx's escape just before the monkey bomb explodes: watch the beginning of episode 9 where Jinx tries to end it over and over with the same monkey bomb. If you can't see the purple lights, pause it at the beginning of the explosions. Her monkey bomb is a combination of Chemtech, Hextech and Shimmer(!) ... (they clearly show that at the beginning of the scene) - About the ending scene with Caitlyn: she's documenting what happened for future generations, completely in the Kiramman tradition using schematics and voice recording (=her monologue leading into that scene). She then smiles when she hears Vi humming and walks over to her and starts the conversation by mentioning her humming/singing. (I think it's quite a leap to conclude that Jinx escaped through the vents based on Caitlyn using schematics in the same way her mother did) - The airship at the very end being "the airship Powder always wanted to ride": airships were previously also used to show Piltover's progress and considering what Caitlyn was talking about in her monologue voice-over at the start of the scene, that seems like an appropriate way of ending that scene. (Also: Powder/Jinx already flew on one in episode 4 season 1) But there are lots of hints that point to Jinx still being alive, right ?! Well there certainly are a few things that could be interpreted that way, however ... Already in season 1 the show is telling us that Jinx is willing to kill herself (bridge scene anyone?), after that in season 2: - they show us that after Silco died she was "already dead inside" and ready to "watch it all burn" - they show us that she's totally OK with Vi killing her, saying "I'm glad it's you ... it had to be you" - they show us she's extremely depressed and self harming after losing Isha and Vander - they show us how she actually ended her life multiple times(!) while Ekko tries to save her - they show us that she heroically sacrifices herself for Vi, smiling and hugging Warwick on the way down and blowing them both up Saying it's "very clear" that Jinx survived makes me think that either you're in denial or just repeating what others said. (I can think of another reason, but I'd like to remain civil 🙂)
What is there to question? All main characters live, and will for sure be referenced in other champion stories. All characters gave their all and the show ended but not this universe. The ending with the white blimp not only hints on jinx being alive. But on an artistic POV, it shows the studio has an open canvas to draw new stories in this amazing universe.

So far all I've seen about her being on the airship is just a fan theory that's going around; has it been confirmed by the creators anywhere? If she did escape, did she take Warwick with her? How will that work out, since he was in full, monster, "attack" mode? What's up with the new council? Does that mean the war between Piltover and Zaun never actually happened? Is it still going to happen in the future? If so, how is that going to start up, if Jinx's attack on the Council Chamber in season 1 wasn't the inciting incident we thought it was going to be? Yeah, lots of questions. And I don't like the idea that we have to watch various other series in the franchise just to see if they'll show us the answers.

I think people are underestimating the ruthless guile of Ambessa. Maddie likely joined the Enforcers the very first day Ambessa arrived with her prime role to infiltrate the leadership. Like any good general she always wants to be one step ahead after all.
I'm conved by all the nerds in these comments that Jinx is alive and on her way to date a magical girl in England or smthing now.

jinx def alive you dont do all that for a character you ant your audience to believe is dead... the shot of shimmer towards the vents BEFORE the explosion, Cait examining the structure they were in and it zooming in on the ventilation system, the blimp at the end, silcos words about walking away, vanders words in ekkos timeline. if yall still believe they did all that for a dead character oof

I've now seen a lot of fan theories surrounding Jinx's sacrifice and I'd like to counter a few of the more common ones with a different point of view:
- Concerning the supposed "shimmer trail" being Jinx's escape just before the monkey bomb explodes: watch the beginning of episode 9 where Jinx tries to end it over and over with the same monkey bomb. If you can't see the purple lights, pause it at the beginning of the explosions. Her monkey bomb is a combination of Chemtech, Hextech and Shimmer(!) ... (they clearly show that at the beginning of the scene)
- About the ending scene with Caitlyn: she's documenting what happened for future generations, completely in the Kiramman tradition using schematics and voice recording (=her monologue leading into that scene). She then smiles when she hears Vi humming and walks over to her and starts the conversation by mentioning her humming/singing. (I think it's quite a leap to conclude that Jinx escaped through the vents based on Caitlyn using schematics in the same way her mother did)
- The airship at the very end being "the airship Powder always wanted to ride": airships were previously also used to show Piltover's progress and considering what Caitlyn was talking about in her monologue voice-over at the start of the scene, that seems like an appropriate way of ending that scene. (Also: Powder/Jinx already flew on one in episode 4 season 1)
But there are lots of hints that point to Jinx still being alive, right ?!
Well there certainly are a few things that could be interpreted that way, however ...
Already in season 1 the show is telling us that Jinx is willing to kill herself (bridge scene anyone?), after that in season 2:
- they show us that after Silco died she was "already dead inside" and ready to "watch it all burn"
- they show us that she's totally OK with Vi killing her, saying "I'm glad it's you ... it had to be you"
- they show us she's extremely depressed and self harming after losing Isha and Vander
- they show us how she actually ended her life multiple times(!) while Ekko tries to save her
- they show us that she heroically sacrifices herself for Vi, smiling and hugging Warwick on the way down and blowing them both up
Saying it's "very clear" that Jinx survived makes me think that either you're in denial or just repeating what others said.
(I can think of another reason, but I'd like to remain civil 🙂)

Interesting how season _one_ ended with everything being neatly wrapped up, while season two - the _series finale_ - ends with so many questions
What is there to question?
All main characters live, and will for sure be referenced in other champion stories. All characters gave their all and the show ended but not this universe.
The ending with the white blimp not only hints on jinx being alive.
But on an artistic POV, it shows the studio has an open canvas to draw new stories in this amazing universe.

What happened to Heimerdinger? Was he vaporized? Was he transported to yet another alternate universe? If it's the latter, will he find his way back to this one? Will he _want_ to? WTF happened to Jayce and Viktor? Did they transcend to some higher plane of existence? Will they ever come back? Is Viktor done with the whole "Glorious Evolution" thing? Did Jinx kill herself? So far all I've seen about her being on the airship is just a fan theory that's going around; has it been confirmed by the creators anywhere? If she did escape, did she take Warwick with her? How will that work out, since he was in full, monster, "attack" mode? What's up with the new council? Does that mean the war between Piltover and Zaun never actually happened? Is it still going to happen in the future? If so, how is that going to start up, if Jinx's attack on the Council Chamber in season 1 wasn't the inciting incident we thought it was going to be?
Yeah, lots of questions. And I don't like the idea that we have to watch various other series in the franchise just to see if they'll show us the answers.

I’m satisfied with their direction. And these question doesn’t need an answer for me. Because i know for the sake of future shows, they’re not dead.
Specially Jinx… you don’t need to see or read fan theories. Literally just watch how they directed those final scenes, it is so obvious they even put “The End” in a Jinx paranoia way when that blimp flow off.
