Agree with the philosophy. There is a good interview online with Jim Marshall of Marshall guitar amps fame who takes the same approach. He says why should the kid saving up for his first amp have to pay more because some 'star' who can well afford to buy their own gear wants a freebee handout? As Marshall says, someone has to be pay for the costs of any free endorsement giveaways and it usually ends up being the battler who is saving up to buy their first quality product. Players should play equipment that makes them sound their best, but they should also be prepared to pay for that gear otherwise no-one will have the incentive to invest in the enormous costs for research and development that sit behind any great product available for sale.
