A chance listening to the same Pallavi composition on The Lord of Thirumala and His Divine Consort in Darbari Kanada about half a decade ago by Maestro SS with the same accompanying artists was such a compelling and captivating listening experience that, apart from feeling blissfully transported to The Seven Hills thanks to the aura and ambience it mystically generated, had also served to provisionally at least de-addict me from obsessively prioritising on my fav Raag Hindolam/Malkauns as an avid listener. I was also left with a conviction that the RTP rendered with soul-melting poignancy would remain matchless for long. With this version in Keeravani, though, SS has come close to surpassing himself, l would say. Thanks to his intense Manodharma and genuine Sukhanubhava, the supremely imaginative and creative vocalist instantly connects with the heart and soul of his rasikas with the alacrity of a 5G connection at the very inception of a concert - such analogy could be resorted to for sheer emphasis, I hope. If rasikas were held spell-bound by the Hindustani style improvised Swaraprastha in the Darbari Kanada RTP, this one in Keeravani was highlighted by such an amazing and resplendent Ragamaliga format in which Swaras emanated in a cascading manner. Another collateral fallout of listening to myriad raga renditions of this Melody Supremo is that they invariably and unfailingly get inducted into one's own 'repertoire' of favourite ragas thereafter. Such fruition can at all be attained only by a passionate, commited, relentless pursuit of one's true calling in life with a truly missionary zeal. That explains why I have always looked upon SS as not just a musical gift par excellence not just to Present Age Rasikas but beyond timelines as well, but also as a very inspiring role-model for aspirants in all areas of endeavour ! The Music world has lavished all accolades and recognition on this Carnatic rock-star as it possibly could and understandably so. A Civilian honour of high order would be not just well-merited but is also hopefully on the cards as well - sooner than later, we hope. Stay Blessed, SS.
Good rendering of Keeravani. Some years ago, in a commercially recorded and released cassette containing Keeravani RTP, Sanjay Subramanyam got the words of a line from Arunagirinatha wrong, which was particularly irritating in repeated pallavi singing. Though I pointed it our to the company, they did not even acknowledge nor correct the recording. Now here, he has made ample amends. This is so satisfying. Thank you for this upload.
Govinda! Alarmel Mangai Manala Va! Thiruvengada Nadha!! Hey Govinda!! The consort of the maiden Alarmel (Alamelu Manga, the Presiding deity of the Padmavati temple in Tiruchanur)! You are also the lord of the mountain known as Thiruvengadam.
We simply love his rendition. Puts life into his presentation. So fluent with each and every note. It really stirs one up. Keep it up Sanjay. May God bless you.
Enda Shrijeethe.... (I mean Shrijith Nair... whom I do not know) and also Latha Bharadwaj (whom I do not know)...Thiruvenkata Naayaka.. Govinda...Alarmel Mangai Manaala.... What a good song in Keeravani....(with tears)...Forget Bhoopali, Bowli, etc.... Let us pray almighty god for a good life for Sanjay, Nagain Muriladharan and Neiveli Venkatesh and also for auee99 to post this youtube.
If 20 times 'saluting' Govindha, towards the end, in different Ragas was great The accompanying Bow of Nagai was even better - all these in under 15 minutes - Like a revolving Rainbow. I can not put it in matching words to this Music but may be a feeble attempt to appreciate. Can any one say whose composition is this Song?
This is called RTP (Ragam, thaanam, pallavi). Everything is the creation of the artist with lots of swaras & ragas with a one line "Mukhda". Only 'gifted' artists like Sanjay can master this kind of art.
Excellent piece by Sri Sanjay subramanyam. The only problem with his rendition is shruthi. He should do something immediately to rectify his shruthi. Please do something sir, We are all great fans of you.

Thanks a ton for uploading this fantastic Keeravani RTP with varieties of ragas. So good to listen.

Keeravaani swaram followed by swaras in the ragas Bhupaalam, Kaanada, begada, Hindolam, saveri, naadanaamakriya, Bilahari, Aabhogi, reethigowla, saaranga, kadana kuthookalam, Ataana, kedaaram, vasantha, valachi, Hamir kalyani, salaga bhairavi, behag, sindu bhairavi, Surutti,
Latha Baradwaj Hi. The first raga after keeravani cannot be Bhupalam. Bhupalam has no Nishadam.
And I think it is Abheri rather than Reetigowla
Marvellous.oh'.Possibly the Lords Vishnu&Siva were sitting before him seeing and hearing him...Yes;yes.
May God blessyou excellent
Keeravani dancing in sanjays tongue Super

The twenty ragams after Keeravani in the ragamalika section were- Bowli, kaanada, begada, hindolam, saveri, subhapanthuvarali, bilahari, abhogi, ritigowlai, saranga, kadanakuthoohalam, Atana, Kedaram, vasantha, valaji, Hamirkalyani, kapi, behag, sindhubhairavi and surutti,
Thank you! This is a great help for people like me who cannot identify ragams but love carnatic music!
