I use a Yamaha DHR12m for bass with great result, give me a great way to ear myself without messing with the FOH or a good amp for small places without boomingness. Perhaps not the same low end response than a classic bass amp, but it really help keeping it clean on stage.
I Had the QSC K8.2S FOR A WEEK They sound really loud tight and nice a bit on the harh and too bright but probably sound better paired with a sub because bottom end seems shy , I prefer Yamaha"s more open and warm sound but thats me you might actually love THE K2 QSC S,
i had one. super loud in the house till i moved it from one room to another. after, it lost like 90% of its volume. they gave me a used one -same thing! my electric checked out good - i bought a tester! weird, i know...
Really like your videos. I'm looking for a PA for a new function band, and was pretty settled on the Alto TS315 units, but recently I'm seeing lots of posts onine about how they have a real tenedency to blow their tweeters. Not clear whether this is just DJs driving the units too hard. Have you had any experience of customers having problems with the Alto speakers?
I have the 315's and they are amazing. As for blowing tweeters basic knowledge of looking after them and not pushing them to the point the clipping is a solid red light will make sure they last a lifetime.
Hey bud, i had two of the ts312 paired with ts315s sub, both got their tweeter blown, as for driving them hard, no not really, they were only upd half way with no clipping so yeah they are faulty, i do not recommend them, crap chinese quality speaker
I've been carrying a Laney Audio hub AH150 around with me just to add a bit of punch to my accoustic bass drum, and occasionly use a second mike over toms as well. (I'm not keen on going through the band's PA). It has worked well, but would any of these speakers be a lighter more compact alternative? Thanks.
EV ZLX 12p (old generation) are cheap and they sound very good. EV also gives you 5 year warranty. Don't know why PMT didn't mention them. Personally I'd pick Ev over Yamaha DBR series.
Let me ask you fellas out there something. How much of that 2k watt sound from the QSC K8 actually gets out? I ask because I play keys in I guess you could say a loud prog metal band. I have the 1k watt 15 EV ZLX and I find at those really high levels it tends to struggle to keep a clean balanced sound especially when I'm driving multiple keyboards out of it. I find it hard to believe that little thing can pump that much decibels out.
They tend to rate their number as the high end so a 2000 watt amp will actually be average 1000 watts, remember it doesn’t increase the loudness of a 1X12 amp it only allows you to keep all your headroom up to its own higher volume so no digital distortion
Is it possible to connect yamaha dxr 15 with yamaha mg12xu mixer? I am planning to connect 2 to 4 speakers with 4 vocals and 3 instruments: guitar, keys and octopad ?
I have Ron and RT Mike Ass and I have an I plugged it in the amplifier for my electric drums but I have a normal drum set and I just want to know is PA speakers better than amplifier with the Mike’s or it doesn’t matter thanks
Has anyone tried the LD Systems ICOA series? I am looking to pull the trigger on a new set of tops/mains compared the JBL IRX 12 and the ICOA 12... same price here in Australia... but the ICOAs seem to have much better seperation. The JBLs just sound muddled and boomy on the low end. Any thoughts? Also thinking about the ALTO TS312s... haven't heard them yet though. Sorry for got to mention... these are for DJing... house parties and small events mainly crowds of about 50 to 150.
I notice stores always recommend Altos. Must be good profit margin on them. Ive learned through car stereo, companies boasting their peak power instead of continuous power, sensitivity and SPL try to sell on a number that isnt reality. And they usually end up sounding thin when close to being pushed to capabilities. Sounds good for the price, but ill try mackie thump.
I'd love to know your recommendation for a PA for a 4 member acoustic band (minimal drums with an electric kick, 2 acoustic guitars, 1 mandolin, 3 vocalists)
like watching your videos stuff I can't buy. can I get that little digital mixer 2 powerd speakers mics cables bass amp bass guitar electric guitar… lol 😆… please….
Ummm.... no, certainly not the best, and definitely not for all uses. "The best money can buy" is a lie - why not just put the word "budget" in the title, or "that we offer" or "less than $800," so that the viewer isn't led to believe these are the best of the best, which they clearly are NOT. Even better, why not do another video that DOES show the best of the best - Meyer Sound, Danley Sound Labs, JBL Professional, DB Technologies, Martin Audio, etc. etc. ... nothing less than $2500 per cabinet minimum.
These are the best active PA Speakers???? This some kind of joke????????? No mention of RCF TT's.. Martin Audio CCD Live? KV2??? Nexo?? KS Audio?? Seeburg?? L Aucustics? Just to name a few! Lets educate instead of the made in china shite... Come on guys! FFS.........

Love my 12 and 15" Altos - 5 years and still pumping
Yamaha DXR10 is great! Small, light and powerful!
What you think about EV and Yorkville i rate them both.I have a pair of EV elx15 sound great.
I just got a pair of Alto ts315 highly recommend !
How much do they go for?
old school gamer I think I spent 500 for both don’t remember
I love EV ZLX great sound!
Which is best for djaying? Active or passive speakers? And why?
If you do a refresh of this video then can you compare the big names of QSC’s, Turbosound, Mackie and EV?
Guessing the best pas are the ones that they sell.
You can try HK Audio Linear 5 115FA. You will be surprised!
If I could get one with Bluetooth that’d be amazing
Which sound is better Alto ts 312 or Mackie Thump 15a?

Can I connect my orange dark terror tube guitar amp head directly to the Mic In from the PA Speaker?
If you have an f/x loop out, or direct line out, then yes. If you only have a speaker out, then no.

The altos are not that great, There ok,I like the Yamaha and RCF however the RMS is too low!!!I am looking at the RCF HDM 45A now
and what about the DB technology speakers? thats also awesome PA
Andre Potts he doesn't sell those, lol.
dB Technologies is a very good speaker punchy bass full-range
Noticed how he mentions that yamaha has a feature that might make it more durable unlike the rest ! 🤔
What would you recommend for rock band rehearsals?
Lots of practice.

2000 watts in one 8 inch speaker huh (sounds like it’s a little inefficient)
It's 1000 watt program and 2000 watts peak. Gotta love the marketing hype. Even so, 1000 watts out of something so small wgr/is amazing.
@@madness8556 the difference between 400 watts and 1000 watts (if its even a true 1000 watts) is barely noticeable, only a 2-3db difference
