Two films advertizing the value of soft water and the use of Dowex Ion Exchange resins. First, 'Conditioning Water for Home Use' (5 minutes). Second, 'Soft as a Cloud'.
I stumbled on this watching your old Mac videos. My dad worked in quality assurance at the ion exchange resin plant at Dow Chemical in the late 80s and through the 90s. Ahh the memories...
That's funny! The reason I had this is one of the ion exchange research scientists asked me convert this from 16mm to videotape back when I worked at Dow.
"Soft As A Cloud" was produced by Roland Reed,, who also produced "MY LITTLE MARGIE", Stu Erwin's "TROUBLE WITH FATHER", "ROCKY JONES- SPACE RANGER", and other shows of the 1950's (and also filmed at Hal Roach Studios in Culver City, California). And this is the first time I've seen a *COLOR* print. 😃
Very interesting, Barry! I had never looked into other things Roland Reed did. My transfer came from a 16mm film that I transferred for Dow Chemical when I worked there. Definitely not as sharp or clean as other transfers, but glad you were able to see the color version here.
I definitely don’t have the patience to sit through this to see if it’s actually in this video, but it reminds me of the clip on the Apple Multimedia CD-ROM Starter Kit wherein a woman exclaims, "suds? Why I want lots of suds! Every woman does!"

Reed also specialized in producing industrial and commercial films.
I appreciate the explanation. Thank you- and HAPPY THANKSGIVING. 😊
@@fromthesidelines Happy Thanksgiving to you.
You too! 😃
Since when did a man need to ring the doorbell of his own home.
That mildly psychotic laughter of a woman who had just been hounded about her hard water for half an hour at the end 😟

Yes, actually the woman here fantasizes about about having a bubble bath in soft water. I'll have to look up the starter kit CD. Thanks!
I wonder where this was shown? Like high school home ec?
