Shy guy’s losing animation is so funny. I didn’t expect him to just stand there. And what makes it better is that he doesn’t have any facial expressions.
He had a few facial expressions in Mario Strikers Charged

Daisy’s animations looks so satisfying on this game, it’s just disappointing they reused voice-lines from her other appearances. Meanwhile Shy Guy, he really just died inside… at least his other animations make him the happiest he’s ever been, it that warms my heart a little
All the characters reuses voice lines pretty much
Nintendo's too lazy and/or stingy to bother recording new lines. They've been using these old lines for I don't even know how long now and they're gonna continue to reuse these old ones for as long as they can can, probably all the way into the next console generation if they have it their way

The fact that they added Shy Guy makes me think we’re getting the whole cast back, plus interest, which keep in mind games like strikers and tennis aces are a lot easier to make new characters for compared to Golf Super-rush which makes the characters completely different from one another since you directly move and control them, so it means they could add a lot of characters if they wanted to, but I might be wrong.
I mean it’s a little harder since they have to make pure animations for everything but other than that I think you’re on the dot
I hope they bring back Petey :)
I hope for King Boo, Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr. and Piranha Plant (workes as a fighter, can work as a soccer lol)
also since Mario Kart 8 had guest (Link, Villager and Inkling) im hoping for Cinderace (Soccer Pokemon), Kirby (Soccer copy ability xD) and Sonic (hes done other sports with Mario so why not soccer since hes super fast)
NGL I wish they added Link or Kirby to this game as Guest characters

Shame Daisy was so chill with her animations. She is the only Princess who should be able to get really upset...Rosa is too calm and Peach clearly took some anger management. Daisy has made her whole personality around competitive play and sports.

@@MetalYam you got to remember how Nintendo has this new dumb model of releasing a game incomplete and then adding dlc content layer down the line. Daisy is inevitable but it is unfair to those who wanted to play as her in day 1.
I personally still thinks she has alot of personality. Its just less for her, but increased for the rest of the cast

Why? They reuse lines all the time. And since Daisy is just a spin-off character that means basically all her lines are good for reuse.
The reason why shy guy looked on the floor was because he was going to plant land mines in those spots
The only way they could improve Shy Guy’s loss animation is by having him take off the mask and look at it while the camera is behind him, then put it back on

I mean don't get me wrong, in terms of personality, I think this game's character animations are quite tame compared to Charged. But generally speaking, I also think that they manage to capture the different personalities of the whole cast (maybe except for the princesses unfortunately), and the losing animations are no exception.
@@enzovalenti9605 well the princesses also don’t have a ton of personality. And while Rosalina does with her backstory how do you express the tragic ness and loss she feels in a game about extreme soccer?
@@alecbormia4523 I mean it is mario strikers, the characters do not act AT ALL like their main games' counterpart.
For instance, peach was literally portrayed as a pretentious diva that gets mad very quickly at her acolytes (so definitely not like in the super Mario bros serie).
For Rosalina, they could've made her act very differently easily, since the context of the game permits it. For instance, she could've acted like a emo teen that complains about anything, or as an unimpressed omnipotent princess that doesn't care about the match to match a bit with the lore if it is that important in your eyes. It's mario strikers, a spin off game where we should be able to experiment with the characters, especially with their designs and personalities through animation, like Toad break dancing on his head in Charged or Shy Guy being dead in the inside when he loses in Battle League.
Rosalina's lore shouldn't let her be nothing than a bland galactic princess. I think that the most important aspect is to adapt the characters to the universe of the spin off, like for mario kart or mario party : sure it doesn't make sense in the super Mario bros lore, but it is acceptable in the mario universe.
EDIT : OK I read my comment once again and I see where you're coming from. I shouldn't have said that the game "captures the personalities of the whole cast". Instead, I think that they managed to give characters a personality that makes them look alive and fun to watch/play as.

I have no idea why, but Shy Guy's Hyper Strike makes me want to see him as a character in a 2D fighting game. I mean if Nintendo really wanted the up the edgy, they could do that and make it like a multiversal thing(because multiverses seem to be all the rage these days).

Not being a crazy grumpy sore loser dont mean she dont have a personality, stop want a copypaste of Charged, the characters being sore losers is not a personality at all, Daisy is really cute and expresive in this game better than the creepy Daisy of Charged .
I like how Daisy is the power counterpart to the graceful Peach and the cool Rosalina
