    Song talks about our history.

  • @xw6665
    @xw6665 6 месяцев назад +48

Thank you for reacting to this song. It's such a banger but the lyrics are really deep. It basically tells the history of colonization in the Philippines - when they rap about wars and conquerors, and ships carrying pestilence, they're talking about real ships and real wars, and real people who died in the fight for independence. So when they say things like "heart of a warrior, won't be suppressed", it's not just them being swaggy. It's about us reclaiming what's ours - our cultures, languages, and land.
This group has a very strong theme of Filipino culture; it's a part of everything they release, whether through lyrics, costuming, instrumentation, or languages (they use multiple Filipino languages in their songs, not just Tagalog and English). For a totally different sound, maybe try Maharani for something R&B flavored, or Walang Hanggan for a ballad.

Thanks for checking out Alamat this is their second fck the colonizers anthem, the first being their song, Kasmala. Alamat always brings Filipino culture and history into their songs. Hopefully you will check out more from them in future. They are so talented, every member represents a different region in the Philippines and their songs often feature multiple Filipino languages not just Tagalog.
My recommendations for future Alamat would be Ily Ily, Kasmala, Gayuma, Aswang, Say You Love Me and Day and Night.

ALAMAT is one of the very few groups I like listening to on repeat (really genuinely). I used to listen to certain genres and instantly skip idol group music, but now my playlist is eclectic, from Mozart to Radiohead to ALAMAT 🙂

The lyrics is about the Philippine history, the Spanish and American colonization era.

I love how you interpret ALAMAT's DAGUNDONG as a "WAR ANTHEM" ...This song definitely mirrors the History of the Philippines during the Spanish and American colonization and each members represent our different Heroes at that dark era. Only ALAMAT had the bravery and bold enough to tell our History through their song to remind Filipinos and others how many lives were sacrificed just to get the Freedom we are enjoying right now. Thank you for doing an RV of this song and we MAGILIWS really appreciate it.❤❤❤

"Dagundong" narrates Philippine history. From when the Spanish came to colonize our country to the exchange or buying of the Philippine by the Americans from the Spanish, and the Filipinos' fight for independence. A hard-hitting tune to show their passion is a really good fit for the lyrics of this song.

Wow, another PPop! My favorite from Alamat is "Maharani", hope you check them next 😊 and on that MV, Jhoanna from Bini was also casted.
What sets Alamat apart from other PPop groups is they heavily promote the Filipino culture in their outfits, lyrics, and MVs. 😊

They're amazing vocalists as well. You might consider checking their ILY ILY wish bus performance (as well as the mv as the lyrics are relevant to the song) and Say you love me from the wish bus. As for mvs Gayuma has an r&b sound to it, personally one of my faves, Maharani depicts a cultural legend and a traditional dance really well, Sa panaginip na lang from their balads, and Noli doesn't have a mv but the track is really good. It's hard to recommend stuff cause everything they put out is just great. Def pack leaders along with sb19.

I subscribed to keep updated in case you watch them again!! I think of all Philippine idol groups, they have the best songwriters.
This song is about the main wars that occurred against colonizers. Kasmala is another one that, though the song itself has nothing to do with history, the MV is about American colonialization and Filipinos being brought to America for human zoos and for labor, but are denied rights. I really liked that song.
For poppier tracks, Dayang and Day & Night are really good and I think they have mass appeal.
If you want to hear their vocals though, Sa Panaginip Na Lang (only in dreams) is a fantastic ballad.

this song retells the history of the philippines as we were colonized by the spaniards. each verse explains the details from the moment magellan landed in the philippines to when the spanish era ended and replaced by the americans.

When you said it's like a chant or a war anthem, yeah it is. That's why the song was short because it's meant to be repeated again and again like a chant.
Just a fun fact, the two guys in red are their main rappers and both of them were underground rappers before joining Alamat.
Alamat are also great vocalists, you can check their other songs especially their latest single Dayang for that. But if you want another rap heavy song from them, you can check out Kasmala and ILY ILY. Thank you for supporting Alamat. 🫶🏻
