Mae reminds me of being 13 i just turn 19 yesterday and I still get the same feeling i did the 1st time I heard their songs. They will always be one of my favorite bands.
I remember this video popping up on the Yahoo Launch rock channel way back when and I thought "What the fuck is this cheesy shit?" - A few more listens I was hooked. Thank the lord for Yahoo Launch.
Going to leave a goodbye note for an old friend in 2 days. Scared if it'll be read or torn up. But this song hits in the feels today. Never rang more true than it does now. I know to have something like this broken.. it's hard to fix.
I'm from the Hampton/Norfolk, VA area (cool that the map is at the beginning of the video) and someone told me about this band yesterday. I had never heard them before...and I wish it stayed that way. Good to see local musicians make it, but...not my cup of tea.
I think it took a while for them to make this music video. The tall skinny red-haired guy was not on the back of my album I got at the store. It was some other dude. Who we'll never see again, I guess.
These guy's van broke down in Pace, Florida, near Pensacola, and I guess they ended up staying at the Red Roof Inn there. In the breakfast area is a huge autographed photo of them. I had never heard of them before I saw that picture.
That's really interesting the first time I saw them play was in Pensacola about 12 years ago. I stayed at the red roof Inn there multiple times because they allow pets. I never noticed it but the next time I'm in town I will check it out.
@yippiedog2 Actually opening your mouth wider creates more resonance and helps create a better tone for a lot of individuals. So yeah, opening your mouth wide helps.
@dustneogirl I definitely agree. Are they often compared to Owl City? Cause I don't consider the two all that similar, at least based on what I've heard. The fact that they're a full band changes the dynamics a little.
@TheFletch827 i saw them last night in southampton at a small venue, they were really good. i myself lost touch with them after the everglow. they have loads of good songs from the next 4 albums, although 3 of them have purely instrumental stuff. brink of disaster is one of my favourite songs which is from singularity - think it was them trying to go mainstream (??). nonetheless it's still an enjoyable listen! rocket is also great!
I wanted to give 2 thumbs 👍🏻 up. Im 39 years old and i was introduced to Mae in 2005-6 love love love it still
Mae reminds me of being 13

@MrTopHatCat same, I'm a rap/hip-hop/banger junkie now, but this band is still legit after 5 years of listening to it.
