It will not happen before election because we know India will win war, but govt. will not take risk of being in a war before election. Because any miss happening on the image of India or insult by Pakistan will not be tolerated and beneficial in elections.
China will get involved. It's not that easy
Free Baluchistan and POK, China will lose Intrest in CPEC. This might lead to China being less aggressive policies towards India. Also this can help India in fighting Pakistan on exterior lines in case of two front conflict. USA and China have only been Intrested in Pakistan's geopolitical location of connecting central Asia with Arabian sea. This can also help direct land route to Afghanistan, iran and central Asia
but china will be the biggest hurdle when we will take back pok

We have to merge PoK with India somehow to derail China's CPEC project. By doing so Pakistan's economy will be under check and secondly China can be kept at bay to avoid their nefarious activities against India.

We Indians love and respect our Gilgit-Baltistan brothers and sisters, our parliament is yet waiting for their representation. But Pakistan is using only their resources, for only it's own business. They should stand strong against Pakistan's dictatorship.

Thanks for highlighting some deprivation issues of our Gilgit-Baltistan. However the current protest and secterian clashes are due to a non-bailable law passed by a few members of Senate of Pakistan in August. The ideology of SSP-backed law is against the Shia-Muslims and Subsects of Sunni Muslims and other minorities. Hope for peaceful Gilgit-Baltistan.

I think joining of Pok with India is now a matter of sovereignty as if merger happens who knows how many terrorists enter India! If such a merger happens there will be national security concerns. We need to think about 1000 such things before talking of merger.

being from Gigit-Baltistan, and witness of these ongoing scenario, people are not happy with the state and continuously asking and protesting for their rights which is yet to be fullfilled since decades but there is no movement or even talk about merging in india but if the sitution goes on and on , and ignored for long time, there is quit a chance that people revolt for freedom against Pakistan is on the table
Question now is
Why did The Gilgit people did not protest when China moved taking the land
Why now they are rebelling
Perhaps India can start supplying arms to gilgit freedom fighters
India must not merge with POK if they get chance it will create more tension between India & Pak which is not good..
On the other hand i feel Kashmiris should run their state on their own and start doing something on their own like Nepal, Bhutan..
Merger in india is very bad idea. We need to help them Setup thr own independent country . We already have lot of land issues dont require 1 more.
The right way for India to go would be is to give seats in Indian parliament for Gilgit, then create a Gilgit development agency on the current LOC border with people in exile manning it. Then allow people of Gilgit to apply for Indian citizenship and passport.
