It might as well have been for future considerations. (Capfriendly's the source) Edit: Got further into the video and notice you couldn't find a year on the pick for the Kulak trade. It's a 2022 unless the Oilers reach the cup final. If so, it turns into a 2023 (still a 2nd). Edit 2: The 2nd for Lehkonen is 2024. Edit 3: Conditions: If Senyshyn plays 5 games with Ottawa before the end of the 2021-22 season, the pick upgrades to a 2022 6th rd pick. Edit 4: Flyers' 4th round pick is 2023.
As a Colorado fan, I loved their moves, the only thing I wish they would have done is get a better 3rd string goalie since they always have goalie injuries in the playoffs. I was hoping for Craig Anderson mostly. I'm also surprised Toronto and Edmonton didn't try to get anyone for an upgrade, even a small upgrade
Idk specifically on deadline day, but brassard has been traded mid-season 5(!) times in his career. CBJ to NYR in 2012-13, OTT to PIT in 17-18, PIT to FLA in 18-19, FLA to COL in 18-19, and now PHI to EDM in 21-22. If you include the off-season trade from NYR to OTT, he’s been traded 6(!) times in his career, and played for 10 teams (including EDM).
As a blues fan, we got fleeced. You will love sunny. He is one of the best bottom 6 guys imo. Great glue guy for the locker room as well. Walman is somewhat of a liability, but is decent enough. I'm honestly pretty heartbroken to see Oscar go
Why yes, Sunny is a blues legend, but, Torpchenko can fill in for him and sunny hasn't been as good since he was hurt. Plus, Sunny has a large contact and Torpchenko plays for league minimum. Plus plus, we need a left handed defensemen.
My top 4 are Rangers (the good moves after the trade deadline without getting flecced),Lightning (defending champ),Colorado (best team right now),and Calgary.
A little ticked my Avs overpaid for Lekhonen. Barron is a great prospect and a 2nd rounder on top of that was a massive overpayment for a good 3rd line guy
They clearly overpaid that's for sure but you'll see what he can bring every night. Always max energy on the ice. Penalty kill beast and when it comes to playoff he is putting 3x more points than in regular season (including big goals for exemple overtime goal that sent mtl to the finals last year). It's an overpayment for sure but you have no idea how he is going to help you guys getting in the playoffs
I'm pretty sure the 2nd in the Kulak deal is conditional. The condition is related to the Duncan Keith trade, if Edmonton gets to the 3rd round then their 2022 2nd goes to Chicago. This would cause the Kulak 2nd to get bumped back to 2023. If they lose in the first 2 rounds then mtl will get the 2nd this year, chi will get the 3rd this year.
Big jets fan here and im happy with the moves they did only thing that could of made things better is if we got a prospect from NY or debursk If copp went to bos
Happy to see us pick up Leddy and shore up the defensive depth but it feels like we gave up too much for him. Would have been fine with Walman and a second but Sundqvist was a huge part of that cup run. He took a lot of key faceoffs and even started some of the Cup final games.
Can someone explain me why the Oilers haven't signed a goalie ??? I just really don't understand the management there... Do they really think that Koskinen is good enough as a starter goalie ?! For me, he's an average backup goalie at best, but certainly not a goalie you could rely on, especially not in the playoffs.
I know right? My heart hurts thinking about it,.. Vancouver lost the player with the most grit.. though guess his chances are higher to win over there.
As a Ducks fan, I’m happy with the return. While giving up on the playoffs this year hurts, we should be trying to build around and maximize our future with Zegras and Drysdale rather than trying to get swept by the avalanche in the first round
Justin Barron was one of the most underrated prospects in any team’s system, and even then everyone agreed he was probably the Avs’ #1 prospect. He was likely to slot in for EJ when his deal expired down the line. Honestly really do not like this move for the Avs. That’s a tough price.
As a Habs fan, I might have "too close to it" bias --- But I think for a team like the Avs looking to win it all this year, Leks is exactly what you need and by the end of it I think you'll love him as much as we'll miss him. He moves up and down the lines on either wing with top notch speed (one of the few guys who can catch Mcdavid on a breakaway) and forechecking. Slotting best in the middle; particularly as scoring supplement on the 3rd. ...BUT.... .....I actually think he's worth testing out next to Kadri for you guys! There's something about their styles of play that I think they'll click into some playoff magic (provided Kadri doesn't pull one of his patented playoff hits...). Les Boyz aren't making the run this year. Right now, thanks to this trade, I'm thinking of getting on a Rocky Mountain jersey for April.
The Leddy trade shows that Sunny wasn't at full health and also a cap dump for next year. Also trading away Walman means they believe Perunovich is better option down the road. Leddy looks great in a blue note. Can't wait to see him gel with Parayko.
