    Why play nosework games? Nosework is incredibly rewarding for dogs. Dogs perceive the world primarily through smell, and they absolutely adore games that require them to sniff and snuff out goodies!
    Plus, scentwork can be really exhausting for dogs. It's a great way to burn off some excess canine energy without requiring too much physical activity on your part.

    Great video! I actually found it looking for fun stuff to send a client to do. This is totally random to satisfy my curiosity, the beginning of the video is that the bike path in Cambridge MA? I swear it looks just like the spot I was just working with a client in. I realize other places have bike paths but my obsessive brain will continue to wonder if I don't ask.

    Does it count as nosework if they see you throw it?

    • @K9ofMine
      @K9ofMine  2 года назад

      It depends - did they need to use their nose to find it? For example, I could throw a treat a couple yards away in a grassy area and even if my dog watched me throw it, he wouldn’t be able to immediately find the treat, he would definitely still have to use his nose to sniff it out. If your dog uses his nose, it’s nose work!

      The first part where she throw she also say the command "find it" so the dpg know he is supposed to go fetch/find sometime

    Hi there. Can you teach me how to find people from a scent trail?

    • @K9ofMine
      @K9ofMine  Год назад

      No, I'm afraid that would require a more advanced scent class. I'd search around though, scentwork is growing in popularity and you might be able to find a class near you.

      It sounds like just low confidence. Dogs with low confidence dont like put head in unfimiliar places such as boxes or crawl in some tight ares. Good thing that there are still some confidence building games :). Search for confidence buillding game by kikopup. :)

    how old is your dog?

  • @Xraysinghell

    Why hot dogs? Wouldn't you want something of a higher quality?

    • @memicoot
      @memicoot 3 года назад +7

      You can use any treat the dog considers high value. Remy likes hot dogs a lot (and they smell) so they were an appropriate motivator for these games!

    Why do people say "dogo"?

  • @ricejamaa7545
    @ricejamaa7545 Год назад +1

    Good video, but I don’t think he needs any more hot dogs.. even if they’re high value to him, he could loose some weight. Plus hotdogs aren’t great for dogs.
