    POGAČAR'S IMPOSSIBLE CHASE 🔥
Tour de France 2024 Stage 19 breakdown: How Tadej Pogačar closed a 3-minute gap in just 8 kilometers at Isola 2000.
    The numbers:
    - Started 3 minutes behind Jorgenson
    - Attacked with 9-10km to go
    - Caught Jorgenson at 2km remaining
    - Won the stage by 21 seconds over Jorgenson
    - Beat his GC rivals (Vingegaard & Evenepoel) by 1:42
    - Averaged 6.83 W/kg for 37:44 minutes
One of the greatest attacks in Tour de France history.

That last point is unreal. I'm a strong amateur (cat 1 in my country) and my all out 5 minute power is 6.9 w/kg. Not only was this done on fresh legs, but after doing that effort it was days before I could ride with any kind of intensity.

    • @davidhofmayer1031
      @davidhofmayer1031 26 days ago +15

Definitely did. Still, you can’t put in that kind of a dig and keep separating if you’re truly at your limit. Which means he closed 3 minutes without being at his limit…

      Or cope.
Of course they all have a bag full of tricks, caffeine is allowed, huge quantities of carbs, sodium bicarbonate, etc.
That's a couple percents enhancement for each product, and there are certainly some more sophisticated substances that are not banned...

One thing to keep in mind as we watch Tadej demolish the rest of the field race after race, year after year...it's not the bike. He could be on any top level spec bike and he'd still drop everyone. He wouldn't even need a top spec bike to be fair. A top spec bike may give him a few seconds here and there up a long climb, but his margin of victory has been so great that he could be on a mid tier bike and he'd still be wearing yellow at the end of the day.

28km/h bei 8% Steigung. Das sind Wattwerte die noch nicht mal Lance im vollgeballerten Zustand getreten ist. Respekt ja aber was ist das los man? Kein Radsportler will so überrollt werden. Da passt was gewaltig nicht. Sorry. Ich gönne jedem seinen Sieg aber nicht um jeden Preis.

What it shows you is the lack of quality opposition. It also makes you question the "cleanliness" of his racing! Not saying he isn't clean, but when he smashes climbing records of the greatest sporting cheat in history, an American, Lance Armstrong, by minutes, you have to really ask questions. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, most likely its a duck!

The funny thing with cycling is that unless some lawyer in the US wanted to make a name for himself, Lance Armstrong would still be the undisputed king.
Pogacar's jump in performance from 2023 to 2024 reeks of doping, but no one in cycling has any interest in knowing if it is right. If this is base on doping and he got caught, it would destroy cycling
