    Well that was a beautiful day to be mucking about the river. At least the 45 didn't need to be used.

      I'm glad the .45 didn't need to come out, but at the same time, the film maker in me couldn't help but think what awesome footage that would make.

      I would not try the penetration of a .45 for bear protection.

      Thanks Titus. This is pretty much what you get when you just go to some random streams and start fishing. We kind of planned this last minute. Next year we will go in with an actual plan and hopefully have some success.

    Catches or no catches, fishing is always a great adventure, yeah that was a awesome jump and heck yeah if you see it it’ll count, your friend looks good on his tackle box. :)

    Beat my known P.B. rainbow in Montana Creek on a rainy day just like that one. Rain isnt as pleasant, but the improvement in fishing makes up for it when the fish are there

      Thanks man. It was the trip of a lifetime. It wasn't actually a fishing trip, but I managed to get some fishing in anyway. Don't put it off too long, this is one of the most amazing places I've seen. I know you will love it too.

      I had visions of some big catches. I guess I will just have to go back. We weren't that far off though. Phyllis took a fly fishing class and went out on the same river I was on a week after I left and did really good. She made a video: ruclips.net/video/vkcTZeIOrHY/видео.html

    The guide? You have one! Your natural instinct of where fish may be!

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  Год назад +1

      You're right! I got a good sense for where they should be. I just didn't know if it was the right time of year for them to be there. Adam has been getting more experience fishing there, so next time I go to Alaska, we should know where to go.

    I did 2 things in Willow.... King fished from the side of the road.....Saw fish but no hook ups and chartered a Super Cub floater.....That was a lot of fun!! You know Anchorage is the largest privately owned plane airport in the US.....I don't know if you can lease one but you could fly in to some remote places!!😎👍👀 🎣

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  2 года назад

      Man, you've done it all! I think when it comes to Alaska, I will just hire someone to fly me around. I'm not familiar enough with the terrain out there. Its also been 20 years since I piloted a piston powered airplane. I'm use to my cozy jet plane.

      Thanks Cole. That is a good description of it. The funny thing is, I asked someone about walleye's and they said, "What's a walleye?" So I guess its not exactly the same.

    Nice change of venue, Rande! I get the impression that Alaska not like CT! (p.s.: I want a backpack like that.)

      Hi Jos Z. I love fishing in the midwest, but I also love venturing into the unknown once a year. I assume your talking about the darth vader backpack, because it was pretty awesome. Almost as awesome as the little pink tackle box.

    I recon you won’t be changing your channel name to ‘Go Far North Fishing’ anytime soon 😂 Great time connecting with a friend despite the weather throwing you a curve ball. 👍

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  2 года назад

      I figure its OK if I go fishing outside the Midwest once a year. Any more than that and I may have to change my name. Apparently it was beautiful sunny weather until I showed up. They have been cursing my name ever since. I guess it rained so much they had 10 inches of water surrounding their place 2 days after I left.

    Jeez, you're obviously not a fisherman. Fishing with very little line on your reel???

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  Год назад

      Well, obviously I don't normally fish like that. I was in Alaska with the family, and took a day to visit a friend who moved up there. I had no fishing gear with, so I borrowed all my equipment from him. He had not been fishing there either, so it we just winged it. I'm heading back there next year, and will be fully prepared to do some serious fishing. I can't wait, its going to awesome!

  • @fireprooof101
    @fireprooof101 9 месяцев назад

    you have a chance of catching a monster and you're using a reel with no line? so you plan on just loosing that fish and line? leaving the lure in the fish? head back down buddy.
