Listen to the song, like, give your views and share.
Kik Icha Wadu (We Chayo Jathum) is one of the songs in Emma Jalamo's sixth Album titled Ruth Rembo.
The album, which was launched on December 2, 2017 at Egesa East Villa, Umoja, Nairobi, has seven songs namely Milly Nyar Nyakach, Asam K'Apiyo, Odhis Randere, Ruth Rembo, Kik Icha Wadu, Utanikumbuka and Amani Kenya.
The song sends a strong message to anyone who understands Luo. Emma is stating categorically that he does not sing to compete with anybody in the music industry but to make the Luo Nation and all his fans worldwide happy.
In the song, Emma is appealing to anyone not to look down upon other people since they never know what tomorrow hold for them.
The Ohangla artiste is urging everyone not look down upon others whether they are less intelligent, more intelligent, dumb, rich or poor.
"In this World do not look down upon others, whether you are educated, whether you have wealth, whether you are poor do not look down upon other people," reads part of the lyrics.
Jalamo is encouraging the people to show respect to everyone they come across anywhere.
In the song, he quotes a few riddles in Luo such as;
1- "Ng'ama ipuonjo nyalo jari koseng'eyo" meaning - Someone you have taught something may not recognise you after getting the knowledge.
2- "Ng'ama imiyo chiemo nyalo yanyi koseyieng'" meaning - One you give food can abuse you after getting satisfied.
3- "Wang' mithiedho nyalo gawi" meaning - Someone you have helped can turn against you.
The riddles can be used to best describe various situations.
Emma is reminding the people that everyone has got a unique talent given to them by the Almighty God.
In conclusion, I know some people have criticized this powerful song saying Emma is targeting someone/some people but let me say that is exactly how people behave when truth hits them. This track is well-arranged from the beats to the lyrics and its message is quite clear and understandable.

Same situation with amapiano
He is singing about his fans, saying he doesn't do music to compete with anyone but to entertain his fans.
He asks fans to respect musicians/artistes (the title of the song can be translated to "don't despise a musician")
"In this world, everyone has their destiny.
The person you teach (maybe a skill or a game) might disrespect you after learning from you.
The person you feed might start insulting you after his belly is full.
The eye that you treat is the one that will stare at you.
The leg that you treat will one day kick you.
In this world, don't spite others, don't laugh at others.
If you are learned, don't show contempt to other people.
If you know something, don't show contempt to other people
And even if you don't have, don't talk bad of others.
You are busy laughing at the musician
You are busy despising the musician
You are busy insulting the musician
Yet you don't even own a bicycle, you walk like an antelope
You are busy laughing at the musician
You are busy despising the musician
You are busy insulting the musician
Yet you have no house, you sleep like a bird
You are busy laughing at the musician
You are busy despising the musician
You are busy insulting the musician
Yet you don't even have a wife, you feed like an ant
The musicians that you are insulting have wives, they feel nice
The musicians that you are insulting have property, they live a good life
The musicians that you are insulting, some are landlords, they collect rent
In this world, don't despise others
If you are learned, don't insult others, even if you are unschooled, don't insult or laugh at others
Earthly things will remain on earth
These earthly things we are seeing, they are just passing."
(He then mentions some of the people he knows and praises them for working hard)
"Why do you insult me, why do you disrespect me yet you have numerous loans you have to hide from people?
You are even taking food on credit from vendors, you devil.
In this world, don't despise others, don't insult others.
Don't look down upon anyone that you meet.
You might be well learned, with a Masters' degree but a primary school dropout is better than you.
You may have gone to school and graduated with a degree but you are just useless, you are busy insulting people on Facebook. I wish you were turned into food to be eaten and finished at a funeral"

Twakupenda Nya Tanzania!
Luo music is the best keep up guys me am a Ugandan but I prefer Kenyan music
Some lyrics are omitted, but the words below explains what the song talks about:
I am not singing as a competition
I sing to entertain the luo community(dholuo speakers) and my worldwide fans
......
There's a saying...//calling names (Liz Odada, Solomom Atito, Odira Betty, Merab nyar Japuonj, Sylvia Police,...Oguyo omin Sella, Ruth Achieng...),
In this world, everyone has a talent=piny ka ng'ato ka ng'ato nigi pokne
...
Never despise your fellows
Whether you are learned, or rich, never despise
You despise/mock/abuse a musician yet you don't even own a bicycle(ndiga), you roam like an antelope (mwanda)
You despise/abuse a musician yet you don't even own a house (ot), you sleep like a bird
You despise/abuse a musician yet you are not married(ionge dhako), you eat like an ant
........
You abuse Odipo, yet he married making his life enjoyable
You abuse Opija, yet he has a firm, making his life enjoyable
You abuse Opija, yet he collects rents from his houses
.......
In this world, never mock someone, whether you are learned(isomo), bright(iriek), or stupid(ifuwo)
In this world, never laugh/mock someone,
Material things remain on earth, they are just for display
You despise Emmah yet you got loans allover, you even loan omena from roadside hawkers(sic)
Never despise anyone you meet on the road, God gives everyone what befits them.
You may be having bachelors or masters degrees but a class 3 pupil reasons much better than you.
You maybe learned but you always abuse people in Facebook. You should have just been turned into githeri(nyoyo), so that we could we feast on you in funerals(liel).
Iriek...at least we can now understand what the song is all about as the diaspora community.

I can never have enough of Luo songs. My grandma mzaa babangu is a Luo from gem. It might be far fetched as some would say but I believe however much my origin is TZ 🇹🇿, but I didn't stop from that. I'm married to a beautiful Luo woman from Seme. She has made my world beautiful ever since tulikutana tukapendana, number kubadilishana na nafsi kukubaliana. She is the best thing that happened to me in this 'my' life❤️💕 I love her to the 🌙 and 🔙 and it's her birthday Month. I just feel that I should let the whole world know.
