    Great video, never understood why Storm won't go back to the old mold (pre Rapala) when every anglers prefers that model.

      I am in Ohio near Lake Erie, every tackle store and bait shop used to have tons of them, they were a top lure for Lake Erie walleye. Chrome with a black back and gold with a black back seemed to work best on Erie.

    Info was great, kudos. Nine dislikes on this video (smh) stay ignorant ppl. 2018 April 9th and it’s going to snow ❄️ here in Iowa. I have a feeling I’ll be using the wiggle wart tips. ✌🏻🎣

      They don't spawn in 39degree water. They hug the bottom for the heat of the rocks. That's what Dave was telling you.

    Smallmouthnation I'm pretty sure they did go back to the old mold at one point. Part of what was so special about those old crankbaits were the plastic that they used. Regardless, the new ones don't hold a candle to the old ones. The wobble is totally different. Brad's Wiggler's are a decent replica. I don't know how the replica Luck-E-Strike made with Clunn's name on it is. I have a few dozen of the old Warts and haven't found anything quiiite as good yet though haha. I'm interested to see how the new rock crawler Spro came out with at iCast this year looks next to an old wart though.

      I know this is an old comment but did u happen to try out those rkcrawlers? I intend on buying some original warts off ebay and test them against the rkcrawlers.

    • @swburton316
      @swburton316 8 лет назад +2

      TheUnluckyFisherman I have not yet. I plan to, but I don't get out to the ozarks system much anymore unfortunately. I have a plano tray full of about 3-4 dozen old warts but would like to test them next to each other too. I've heard good things. The castability will obviously be a huge benefit. Interested to see the action side by side though. If you do, let me know!!!

    Their tails are worn from fanning crayfish out the rocks. Has nothing to do with swimming on the bottom! Lol great video

      Does anybody really know? Na. We all have our own theories

    • @swburton316
      @swburton316 9 лет назад +2

      They get torn up from fanning beds in the spring as well. There is definitely more than one reason their tails get torn up -- laying/swimming on the bottom is absolutely one of them though lol. You'll have fish grouped up out deep in the summer under balls of shad that won't touch a jig or anything on the bottom that resembles a craw because that isn't at all why they're there, but every one you catch will have a torn up tail and a muddy belly just because they've been hugging bottom.

    Great Video, lot of knowledge there. Funny how some old guys just know how to catch them and don't mess with the advanced graphs. Learned a lot about the cold water take and how to stay in constant contact with the bait. Thanks

    How cold can the water be before it's too cold for a Wart?

      Freeze up. We’ve caught em deep into the 30s on Table Rock. You have to make it a SLOW presentation but they will eat it. Mix it up between a Wart and a Vision 110.
