My guess is the smoking is caused by too much current through the wires. The original bulbs draw lots of power so my guess is a relay of some sort would need to be changed. I'm researching into this as I drove home in the dark in my 1966 mustang last week and Prayed the whole way home as the old bulbs was about as bright as a cigarette butt. LEDS look promising. Thanks for the video.
Wow Be careful! These older cars are dangerous at times and because of that I am going to be rewiring everything and working on this car from top to bottom. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a fray in the wire somewhere, these cars are 55+ years old! These lights aren't too bad in price so if you want to change yours out it might be a good time to 👍 Thanks for watching the video 😁
The smoke means something shorted out in the dash area. As a good measure replace the selector for the high beam that is down in the foot well. If you are replacing the wiring look up CJ pony parts they have a ton for mustangs that are decent price.
Classic car wiring will have a diagram for you or national part depot will have it as well it large and laminated I hope this helps. I was following the link for what you bought but they aren’t working I just wanted to know what size they was thanks you
These were plug and play, keeping the wires just in case though haha 👍 I haven't been able to drive at night to test it out completely yet because the car is in pieces but I'll let you know through my uploads haha 😂😭
What paint did you use for those finish? Or is that primer or plasti dip or something? Love the look I have a white mustang I’m going to be painting flat/satin black in the future
I bought the car like that! But it’s definitely not plastidip, I think the previous owner painted it that color. Your car will probably look a LOT better than mine haha in camera you can’t see the imperfections but if I’m not mistaken the previous owner might have rattle canned it 😂. The new paint colors on classic cars are awesome 👍🏼
Hi, i just recently purchased these as they look beautiful on your car but im curious how you got your Drl’s/Turn signals to work, im assuming you had to purchase a harness
Hmm I haven’t been able to touch my mustang in a while but I think I just installed the headlights with what they came with. I don’t think I always able to test it out because I was in a hurry that day haha my bad!
I got them off of eBay! The previous owner just said it was a matte black paint, I think he may have just rattle canned it 😂😭. Some parts of the paint are chipping away but if you like the paint I think it's just a standard matte black. 👍
Ohhh awesome! I still have to get on the wiring, kind of scared to start that project since it'll be my first time wiring up a car! Any other mods on the way?

Look up painless wiring they have complete kits for your car and every wire is clearly labeled takes time but not hard at all.
Awesome I’ll definitely look into that thank you 👍🏼👍🏼
I noticed some relays? in the box? Do you need those or plug and play?
