Couple of misunderstandings there I believe they didn’t double charge you for the cabin. They offered you to pay for the other two beds so you’d keep the 4-sleeper to yourself. As you can’t do it officially, it seemed like they arranged it between themselves to accommodate you. That’s why they suggested to keep your door locked so nobody else comes in and uses the empty beds. It was kind of an informal arrangement not meant to ripp you off but if someone questioned it, they‘d show the money. Yes they probably ended up keeping the money because it was easier than trying to explain it to the office. Why he dragged you through the eight wagons I wouldn’t know. But from your description it seemed like he thought you‘re in need of a translator. So he may have used his authority to get people’s attention and locate an „American“ speaking (i.e. English) person to help you. Maybe, for whatever reason, he thought you‘re in need to tell him something. Also, in Basra, the taxi driver said 7000 to the hotel but you responded 5000, maybe because his right hand gesture came across as if he was showing 5 fingers. I don’t think that was his intention.

I am surprised that most of the comments talk about misunderstanding in the train They entered the wrong cabin which is enough for four people at a cost of 100 thousand Iraqi dinars each person pays 25 thousand dinars Mac and Luke paid for two people and two beds must Paid So the soldier took the remaining amount of the price of the cabin knowing that he deducted 20 thousand dinars because they are guests and they must be hosted He did not deceive them because the Iraqi Army does not need to steal, they are the ones who provide safety for people and tourists You even saw at the beginning of the video the soldiers served lunch as a kind of hospitality knowing that they are not forced to do that ... Hello, I'm from Iraq, your content is great and very nice. I hope you come to the city of Mosul, which has very delicious dishes. Or I want to tell you, I hope you put an Arabic translation for the video.
Just want to clarify, they did not rip them off. The reason they paid the extra $13 Dinar was to secure the entire cabin to themselves. That's what the guys were saying. He was basically saying if you guys want extra privacy and don't want others to come into the room, you pay this amount for the other two other seats. He did not force - he was just informing and the choice is yours. I agree the language communication was not clear but that's what they were saying. The train was not a direct train so other people could book the seats at other stations etc hence why this is option is offered. Btw this is offered to everyone on the train and not just because luke and nomac were foreigners.
The boys regarded two locals joining them as a opportunity to interact. When you know the foreigners don't understand, you're not giving them a choice.
WTF.. Luke mate you got some serious balls hanging around Iraqi military mate hahah 😂 .. You got some rocks in ya head mate lol.. But they seemed and looked friendly somewhat lol.. I am speechless.. Going to these so called "dangerous" places" respect mate
The officer said 30k but then said you can give me 20k for the 2 other beds in your cubicle so you don't have to share with randoms. They were looking out for you.
Hey Luke! I’m originally Iraqi but grew up in Adelaide, Australia! Just letting you know the Arabic words you are saying like “kelk zouk” is Lebanese and most Iraqis have no idea what you mean :) anyway I hope you enjoy seeing Basra! That is where I was born :) look forward to seeing your videos. Please show us all the yummy food! Merry Christmas.
No way! In iraq we also use it maybe it’s not that common but i do say myself sometimes (كلك ذوق حبيبي) kuluk dhawq habibi it’s very polite way to say And not only lebanese use it.
Great vids! Only you may want to choose your local words more carefully. Using Kurdish words in Bagdad in front of the military may not be received well. Or Lebanese words in Kurdistan, also not good.
A request: We need a tutorial on how to use a squat toilet without soiling your clothes. I have been to Asia and that bit of information was left out of my instructions. In fact I was at a certain rest stop in Italy and still didn't know how to navigate the squat. And how does one dry off after using the bum gun?
Its very easy to aim, I used it all the time in Thailand. It's more hygienic too, and you do not need to dry with paper in a hot climate. In S-Korea they have built in spray and dryer in the more advanced toilets. I installed a spray in my bathroom at home so stopped using toilet paper a long time ago. Except for drying when it's cold.
Balancing your body during squat is what you have to focus on, more to the front. Bend your knees slowly. Otherwise you may fall backwards or even sit on the hole. Make sure you have no phone or wallet in your pants pockets. They can also slide dawn into the hole, unless you securely fold your pants before you squat. Squat toilets rarely have bum guns. Usualy only a hose attached to a fawcet. Have some tissue paper or napkins handy to dry your rectum, before you go for it. I hope this helps. Good luck.
If the situation is fine, you can travel here in Philippines. I mean experience our beaches and other historical places here in PH. Not quite sure if you tried to travel here. Hope you can. New here😉

Got some balls..Like how you guys are chill during the end there. Poor America guy must be nervous on that excursion. Do look like American Military especially after the barbershop video.
I found that strange also. Considering all the iraqis that were killed... . walking around dressed marines I found very offcoof. Not having a pop Luke just some personal opinion. some very good feedback in his comments
Loving the iraq series ❤️ from Ecuador
I think the extra 25k was because he was actually asking you if you're only 2 in the room so you payed for tge 2 extra beds. The amount was actually 50k, 25k for each bed. But he payed on behalf of you for 1 bed.
When not understanding a word they said, you would think they are trying to "rob" you or something like that, but once you get the explanation you see the good in people!
From what I understood they sold you the other 2 tickets for the upper seats.
Nice to see you having good time, Luke. Sending you lots well wishes from Pakistan. Work on your cheese paratha business and expand it across borders!
Ho to tunisia i recomend it bro it's very nice and old country with a lot of things you will get surprised!!!!❤️✅🌹
Sousse is very beautiful people
I was in Hamamet for 10 days. Wonderful time. People are very nice.
Great to see you both together that’s the best part 👍👍
Welcome to Iraq, I hope you will visit the city of Mosul 🥺 We will be happy for you to come Pro.
I guess they charged you for empty seat too. I heard about this practice here in many countries. Great vlog
I wonder how you guys can handle all these uncomfortable situation, be careful & safe that's all I can say
Iraq is very safe. You are problebly more safe sleeping in the street in iraq then at home in the us.

Do visit Karbala, all the vloggers travelling Iraq went there and it's amazing place.
The matching green t shirt you look like part of the military 🪖🪖
Amazing and people in Basrah absolutely nice and generous people.
Luke please no more "habibi kolak zoue" 😆
Thank you so much for showing us what home is like for those of us who are unable to see 🙌🏼

In a perfect universe : Harald Baldr and Bald and Bankrupt shows up and occupy the other two beds 😂😂
I think Mac's military haircut worked there .. 😂
The 25k u paid in the capin was for the upper beds and they make a discount for u, u should ask for a translator to understand the cost
@@markkintz1786that's there fault for not having a guide or someone to translate anyway they weren't being ripped off
@@Poison-696 Yea, if only they had a translator to overpower the Army officer when he threatened them with his gun.
WTF.. Luke mate you got some serious balls hanging around Iraqi military mate hahah 😂 .. You got some rocks in ya head mate lol.. But they seemed and looked friendly somewhat lol.. I am speechless.. Going to these so called "dangerous" places" respect mate
Maybe you paid again to have your compartment for just you two as just before, he was explaining this.
Greetings from Egyptian railways trains to Iraq 🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬
The officer said 30k but then said you can give me 20k for the 2 other beds in your cubicle so you don't have to share with randoms. They were looking out for you.
Hey Luke! I’m originally Iraqi but grew up in Adelaide, Australia! Just letting you know the Arabic words you are saying like “kelk zouk” is Lebanese and most Iraqis have no idea what you mean :) anyway I hope you enjoy seeing Basra! That is where I was born :) look forward to seeing your videos. Please show us all the yummy food! Merry Christmas.
No way! In iraq we also use it maybe it’s not that common but i do say myself sometimes (كلك ذوق حبيبي) kuluk dhawq habibi it’s very polite way to say
And not only lebanese use it.
@@iqabode6959 What does it mean "habibi"? Brazil here :)

Army with Ak-47: Ill pay for your food
Luke: Okay, thanks
Luke thinking: I need to accept, they have AK-47
He said 13 instead of 30 lol
Loving the videos bro been binging them like crazy!
Great vids! Only you may want to choose your local words more carefully. Using Kurdish words in Bagdad in front of the military may not be received well. Or Lebanese words in Kurdistan, also not good.
I live in Australia and I am Iraqi. I wish you happiness in your country, Iraq
الف عافية حبيبي العراق العظيم يرحب بيكم
iam laughting alot when he said maybe we did paid for the teas🤣
Good luck.
Safe travels my friend 😀🙏
Love your videoes,I watch them daily
We love you alot ❤️ we from Iraq live in UK. And we followers 😇

15:21 pretty sure one of the dudes said something about you being a spy and he's laughing about the fact that you're just a tourist 😂
5 days and no video? Hope all is well.
16:44 You know you've effed up big when even the military guys cringe after looking at your bloody, mangled hand.
Collaboration wise you and Mac work really well, very comedic. Having said that really enjoyed your time with Dale too.
Just bring it on as they say. Wish I was away for Christmas I much prefer it. Best wishes Guys.
