    Those places you guys visited were average size city center malls for tourists, if you want big malls over 100.000 sqm2 for locals, try Aeon Mall - Binh Tan District, Aeon Mall - Tan Phu District, Van Hanh Mall - District 10 or Cresent Mall - District 7 right in the heart of Korea Town, but more like Korean district, with Korean schools and everything. According to the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, there are over 200.000 Koreans living in Vietnam, so the things sold in Lotte Mart are not only for Vietnamese , they're catering to Koreans living in Vietnam there too. Before the pandemic the Korean gov even proposed to build a subway line connecting district 7 to district 2, because those were 2 places Koreans live the most in Saigon. Have a great trip in Vietnam.

      @@ChovyTravel Seems a lot but if split to 5-10 cities in Vietnam it's not that much. Hanoi K-town is similar to New York confined to My Dinh area with couple streets, but K-town in Saigon you need to ride motor bike to see the magnitude of the shops, unfortunately these places are far from the city centers so tourists don't know much about them. 2yrs ago a Korean youtuber calling people come to support K-town in Phu My Hung because businesses are suffering after the pandemic, so many shops closed, but seem like they start to open up again. Visit if you guys get the chance.

    Vietnam has many different types of rice paper, used for spring rolls or fried spring rolls, some are thick and need to be dipped in water, some are thin and do not need to be dipped in water, and some are special types that are incubated with a dam tower or or put it out side in dew so it have chewy texture and no need water (bánh tráng phơi sương).

    Almost 60-70% of Nike and Adidas products are produced in factories in Vietnam. Currently, Vietnam's shoe production ranks No. 3 in the world, just behind China and India, but its export of shoes and handbags ranks No. 2 in the world, just behind China. Many Nike or Adidas shoes sold cheaply at local markets are not completely fake. Many products with minor errors during the production process, such as uneven sewing, will be removed from consumption. Those small defective products, instead of having to be destroyed at the factory, were somehow smuggled out onto the black market and sold at cheap prices.

    • @ChovyTravel
      @ChovyTravel  2 месяца назад

      That’s true. Also, we noticed a lot of great qualities come from Vietnam and are sometimes better than items made from China. Ofc that’s what we believe based on items we saw especially in the states.

      No, not water…instead, if you want to soften it, you would wipe the dry rice paper with the moisture from a cucumber, lettuce or another vegetable, to soften it.

      @lizzy9975 2 месяца назад

      @@ChovyTravel
      Our governments literally gave money away during Co#id for people to sit around on their backside and do sweet FA.
      Australia is so expensive because we have a current government who cannot stop spending and printing money, almost worst than the last.
      When you have unbridled government spending and that amount of money washing through the economy inflation will be out of control.
      In addition wages are extremely high and we have militant unions. What they don't realise is every time you raise the minimum wage, it simply means an employer will only take on experienced staff. Or two they will automate their workforce and use robotics.
      In addition we have unbridled immigration and that combined with our housing crisis has made renting and buying unaffordable.
      Interest rates are through the roof here, food prices are through the roof and our energy prices are through the roof because we have a government obsessed with net zero emissions.
      Large governments and an endless minion of bureaucrats, throwing endless welfare and subsidies is a recipe for disaster. We'll eventually end up like Venezuela.
      If you want to see a country turning itself around look to Argentina.
      Javier Miele has not been in office for that long and his March through the closure of multiple government departments has seen inflation there drop from 300% to 11%.
      What I will say is, as an Australian, even I won't travel in my own country. Even with an airfare, food and accommodation it's still cheaper to travel to Asia than holiday here.

      I do have to agree that we do need to do a better job to help better the Economy and the livelihood of all of the hardworking people/small business owners. Need to really get in control of inflation and stop printing money as well. Hang in there 🫰🫰
