  • I'm not much felling lately. mostly up on the work platform pruning. but here is a medium red oak, 26 inches dbh or so. It was a tight shot, to prevent damage to other trees.
    the saw here is a husqvarna 395xpg, rakers were a little low since I've been cutting softer wood much.

      It went nicely, happy about the way it went
      I'm mostly up on work platforms for pruning along roads, so it feels great being able to cut one like this, every once in a while.

    Sounds like you might be a little too aggressive on cutting the rakers

      Yes indeed I was, used this saw on softwoods a lot, this tree was a bit harder

      @@DUTCHHUSKY66Treesandforest I do that a lot for ficus in South Florida very Softe then when I cut oak with a ficus chain its jumpy.......

      @@reillystsb after a few filings it should get less 'bity'
