I'm actually excited for PL-1413, SB-129 is by far my favorite Spongebob episode, so seeing a sequel/spiritual successor of that episode makes me excited to see how it will be

That's what everyone thinks after hearing this news. I don't think that will happen, but we'll see. It's a continuation of the OG episodes, yes, but it'll probably have the style of newer episodes, with the bouncy animation, funny faces, visual jokes, etc. This doesn't mean the episodes will be bad but yeah.
I agree what they can do is take like 2 years off and study what made older episodes so good then come back and do them types of episodes not whatever TF we got now

Pixar has been about innovation since its creation. It feels kinda disappointing when they retread old ground instead of expanding the boundaries of animation like they (used to) do.
This is something that I've imagined more frequently than I'd like to imagine with episodes of TV (doesn't matter which show) in general, especially when I was younger. Seeing that this is officially happening now has revived that memory for me, and I am beyond excited to see what the writers will do for these future episodes.

This is honestly a very smart idea. People that grew up with SpongeBob, love the original episodes and don't watch it anymore. Might/possibly/most definitely will return to watch these sequels. It depends on their promotion techniques and with review critiques either giving the episodes a low or high rating because I wouldn't know about this if I wasn't subscribed to this guy! I mean I feel like promoting strategies are so hard now. Everyone HATES ads, people don't buy DVDS anymore really so no need for commercials and in all honesty it depends on RUclips and other platforms to promote shit.
I’m not excited for these sequels. The originals are perfect as they are, simple as that, and it is a fact that I am saying. (I am a gen z kid but I grew up with the first few seasons of SpongeBob, as well as 5-9. The more recent ones that are clearly aimed at much younger children just don’t do it for me.)

Those episodes are only more iconic because they're older, and there have been more chances for people to see them. That, and nostalgia is one hell of a drug.
I wouldn't quite call it that though. Take Buddle Buddy Returns or Doodle Dimension for instance, they brought back characters from the golden era, but that doesn't really mean the episode will be as good as the golden era
They should honestly write an episode that takes place after the events of the SpongeBob movie, which involves the Krusty krab 2 to get destroyed, and then they can carry in without worrying about continuity
A reason why I love Aquaticneptune so much is for this reason, He understands what spongebob nostalgia is, And it's gone to the point that his whole channel is nostalgic for me, mainly 2017-2018-2019-2021

Idk. I remember when Oggy and the Cockroaches remade those classic shorts and the animation... was so liveless in comparison to the classic animation style. (I could be wrong. They could be like Samurai Jack where the newer animation looks fantastic.)

They did a similar thing in January with an episode called “the salty sponge” where SpongeBob works at the salty spittoon. Most likely a follow up to “No weenies allowed”. I actually enjoyed that new episode despite me not liking the modern era of SpongeBob!
It's a great way to get people (like me) who stopped watching the show around Season 6 to come back for these continuations of "Golden Age/Iconic" episodes.

I've always said Squidward should've gone back in time to stop himself from creating jellyfishing in SB-129, because his last line in episode is "I'm going back." Plus I would love to see them explore the past even more. The environment and design of characters is both terrifying to me as a child but also interesting, and we've only really seen the far distant past twice with the other being "Ugh."

Honestly I find it annoying when they keep on referencing the older seasons without knowing what made the things they are referencing work, like nosforatu, he was funny in graveyard shift but I get so annoyed when they bring him back, and he looks so bad. Since it’s the anniversary I think this may be one of the phew times it won’t be annoying when they keep on referencing the old episodes

I don't think that's what needed though. I also think that, by the descriptions of the episodes themselves, they're missing the reason why those episodes worked well.
For the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob: Pearl Whale's mom should be revealed, SpongeBob should finally get his driver's license and the Krabby Patty Secret Formula should finally be revealed (no pranks, no distractions, no cliffhanger endings at all whatsoever) ecause since the creator Stephen Hillenburg died back in 2018, most of his production rules and whshes have been broken and doesn't exist anymore. This is probably another reason why Nickelodeon hasn't cancelled this franchise yet
The Idiot Box one I’m a little skeptical about, because the whole point of the original episode was the fact that SpongeBob and Patrick were pretending so well in it, while Squidward was arrogant, and got what he deserved in the end when he tried it. I feel like they shouldn’t actually make the box all random and whacky now.
For anniversary releases, these sequel episodes do make sense. I’m very interested to see what they can do to expand these ideas. Like maybe a funny flash back scene of Patrick and Rocky together when SpongeBob is away at work. Imagination land, pretty ambitious with what could happen…oh! What if they actually do Robot pirate island???
I'm most excited for Squidiot Box because the premise seems solid, and PL-1413 because it seems like a sequel to one of my favorite episodes and the first one I ever remember watching.

As a kid I was always awaiting an episode called The Return of Patrick's Song. Kid me did get the return of Bubble Buddy, so I'm hoping.
The Idiot Box one I’m a little skeptical about, because the whole point of the original episode was the fact that SpongeBob and Patrick were pretending so well in it, while Squidward was arrogant, and got what he deserved in the end when he tried it. I feel like they shouldn’t actually make the box all random and whacky now.

For anniversary releases, these sequel episodes do make sense. I’m very interested to see what they can do to expand these ideas. Like maybe a funny flash back scene of Patrick and Rocky together when SpongeBob is away at work. Imagination land, pretty ambitious with what could happen…oh! What if they actually do Robot pirate island???

I'm most excited for Squidiot Box because the premise seems solid, and PL-1413 because it seems like a sequel to one of my favorite episodes and the first one I ever remember watching.
As a modern Spongebob lover (Season 13 is my second favorite season) I really think that Season 14 will be very interesting, whether good or not.
While we don’t really need follow ups to these classic episodes, it is pretty cool that we’re gonna see continuations of them.
