Just motif, not leitmotif. A leitmotif is tied to a character or location, a motif is just a comon musical theme. Sorry for the reply 2 years later lol
this feels like it hits hard, literally. It just feels so hard and like they went insanely hard on this it's like BAAAAA BAA BAA BUH BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, BUH BAA BAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BUHHHHHHH
This is one of the longest course themes in the game. It loops at around 1:36, more or less the same length as Shifty Boo Mansion which also loops at around 1:36-1:37. The only themes longer than this is Super Mario World Castle - 1:54 That is of course unless you include the extra music that can be inserted via the sound effects menu, in which case, Gusty Garden Galaxy which loops at 1:57 is the only other theme that can be heard during a course that's longer.
Yes, technically. The Sunken Ghost Ship was said to be an airship in one of the manuals. The thing is, SMW was a rushed game and it sort of shows near the end. Maybe with more development time, it could have had more sunken ship/airship levels.
@@xboydubose7254 those melodies being...? the only reused melody is the castle theme _from_ Super Mario World. Which just so happens to be the game style in SMM where this music is heard on Airships.
Since Super Mario Bros. Wonder remixed the SMB1 airship theme from SMM, I’m wondering if the airship theme in the next 2D or even 3D Mario game will be a remix of this theme.
Probably not. In the same way we’ve not heard the Super Mario World Underground or Underwater themes in future games, this one feels too situational, only appropriate for Super Mario World. The Super Mario Bros. Airship theme gets used a lot because music from Super Mario Bros. gets used throughout the series quite a bit. They’re treating that Airship theme like it’s the OG main theme or Underground themes; the ones that make it into pretty much every Mario game.
When I hear this I imagine: A normal day in the mushroom kingdom until drums start beating. Cannon balls rain and smash the castle, leaving it to burn. Bowser's only intention is to kill. Mario attempts to stop it but fails and is caught in rubble. The toads being captured. The mushroom kingdom is no more.
but Mario lives due to a spare 1 up he had and many cats surround him, and 10 of them are carrying a large bell, Mario looks up at peach, locked in a cage, bowser roars furiously as he shows up in the billowing smoke, he is way larger, Mario touches the bell and becomes a giant cat, the battle to reclaim the mushroom kingdom has begun...
This instruments of Bullet Bill Express theme from Super Mario 3D World will be used for the remix of this song SMW-style Airship theme from Super Mario Maker coming in the future projects of the 3D platform game of the Super Mario Series.
Hmph, World of Mariorepus IV, an RPG.. It's refreshing to hear a new "SNES" theme in modern day; although, it's my opinion this doesn't sound as much like Super Mario World like I think it could. It is well composed, all the same!
Best music in super mario maker. Not Super Mario Maker 2, Super mario maker one. Because SMW Desert beats it. SMW Snow used to be the most favorite before SMW Desert ever came on youtube. I like SMW Forest tho. NOTHING Beats super mario world :)
Everything about the smw airship style feels so _proper,_ like it really came from smw...
It should since Koji Kondo worked on the new music themes for Super Mario Maker 2, and did this theme in the original Super Mario Maker.
You can hear sounds that probably don't come from the SNES at 0:16
@@cheeseburgermonkey7104 it’s definitely from an SNES soundfont, just possibly not SMW’s soundfont
@@couriertx I'm super late but it's not about the soundfont but more about the way the snes could handle the release and quality of the sounds
Dude, right???
the legit coolest part of this song for me, is that it even uses the same leitmotif used for all the level themes in the original game.
Reminds me of how undertale has the ruins leitmotif in water fall, quiet water, another medium and NGAHHH!!!

Spittin straight facts
It's notable that the first minute of Mario World's Castle Theme is technically all the intro, and doesn't loop.
