Putting the bike in first gear kinda prevents it from spinning. However if your bolts are too stuck and you are worried that the force from the compression wont be enough, you can always break the bolts loose before removing the chain. (using the wheel and chain to keep the sprocket in place is far more effective than just putting it in gear)
